Bren's Diary - The journey begins, again!

Bren: I think waiting & measuring in 10 days would be good... give you a bit more time for your body to get used to your new eating plan & then hopefully see a really good loss!

Abz: how on earth have you managed to put on weight on 810? That must have really flummuxed your cdc! x

sounds good bren. and i agree. a measure in in 10 days will be more useful. you don't want an ordinary body flux to put you off.

and linzi... i have noooooo idea. ha. and it confused us both. so she's talking to their medical person to see if it's happened to anyone else and if there's any reason for it. i think it was probably just water retention. i've lost again on my scales this morning even though they went up a wee bit yesterday so hopefully this will work. i have to dash. i am working a 1-11 shift today so have to make my dinner etc before i go to meet a friend in 45 mins and i'm still in my pj's.. ha. think i've left things a little bit late..

catch you later :)

Agreed then I will wait until next Thurs morning..... OMG how hard will it be. Actually not really bothered I find it somewhat relieving not knowing.

I am not depriving myself of extras either, like today a 138 cal protein bar but I didn't eat my apple 60 cal. Also had some pumpkin seeds and almonds. I have drunk about 3 ltrs of water too. No gym though, tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice.

Abz ??????? Guzzle that water girl and maybe a slight variation in your meals? or the shakes , change them around a little, enjoy catching up with your friend.

Well a good day today I have just enjoyed 1 slice of home made fruit bread with hubby, he's sick, and waited an hour so I'm off to bed and not feeling that fullness. A little chuffed as this is the second night I've been in control. The gym tomorrow, if I dont get called into work in the morning.

Dont want to count my chicken's yet though! still have 8 more days until I can measure in offically......

Hoping to maybe get my waist down to 79cm's by then. FINGERS AND TOES CROSSED.

X

mine are crossed for you too bren :)

now i'm on a higher plan i'm going to have a much more varied diet in any case :) i've had the same thing two nights running just because it was easy but i don't intend to continue that way. and now i get carbs :D fruuuuuuuuuuuit :D yum.. ha. had my first apple in a couple of months this morning. and i'd forgotten how nice grapes are :)

abz xx

I loooove apples. Going through a phase at the moment that I like to slice them and sit down with a cuppa and slowly work my way through them rather than quickly comp!

This morning and I've had a shake and up to the 1ltr mark already with the water!! About to clean the house quickly and have a shower and go to the gym. Then home to write a few more job applications.

My hubby is home sick so might spend some time with him. XXX Maybe lunch out?? Salad of course or fish. Got a friend coming over later for dinner and she doesnt like me on a diet some I might have to sneak the shake in and tell her I've eaten already or maybe today on w shake for me. I'll try to avoid lunch out perhaps. (It's my day off today).

I am feeling still very positive. Although I'm not sure how the weekend will go. I will have to stay home and do some job applications so hopefully I can stick with this and avoid meals out?

Why do weekends have to be so hard. Or am I just making too much of a big deal about them?

Bren

I hate weekends too. For me its that I work full time during the week and I have structure and then the weekends are unstructured, empty and that leads to boredom, overthinking and comfort eating. So no, you're not making a big deal about weekends!!!

~Silence~

hey guys. well this weekend is my first full weekend off at home in a while so i'm really looking forward to chilling out. i am going to a friend's house for dinner but he has asked (bless him) what i can have on my new 'i can now eat' plan so he's making salmon with new potatoes and salad and the sauce seperately so i don't have to have it. it will be so nice to be able to sit down and eat with people socially again!!

abz xx

Too true Silence!

Abz it's so good when you can actually start to socialise again. Do you think that you counsellor will make you go back on SS?

My first goal lthis time around will be to fit back into 2 pairs of work pants that I wore about 8 weeks ago comfortably. I just tried them on and both of them I cannot button up without a sizeable muffin top. When I get down to the 79cm mark around the waist they should fit!

What are you girls currently aiming for?

Bren

I appear to be producing alot of flem (snot!) So even thought the tub says to mix with milk, I think as of tomorrow I will use half milk and half water.

I made some home made fruit bread last night and today I had 2 slices however I did go to the gym and I have drunk 3 ltrs of water so not too worried. I had a late dinner and still a little full so I think I will wait another hour before heading off to bed.

you're doing really well bren :D

my cdc won't make me go back onto ss if i don't want to. especially with the confusing results we got. she has seen how much happier i am now my hormones are settling down and as long as this week goes well i think she'll be quite happy with me sticking to the 1000 plan.

abz xx

i would say that it's really hard but produces great results. i am not the best example as it seems to have reacted rather strangely with me, ha. but i would still definately recommend it. you could try starting on the 810 plan and moving your way down to sole sourcing if that's what you want to do. i have to admit that 810 is far far easier to stick with and you should still lose about 3lbs a week at least...

you can always give it a go and see if you like it. but you have to stick to it for at least the first week, regardless of how hard it gets. it's that first week's weigh in that does the business :) it would make a great head start for your weight loss. even if you decided it wasn't for you. it is about £35-£40 a week though, so that needs to be kept in mind :) personally i would go for it. you don't have anything to lose :) just get in touch with a local cdc :)

Hi girls, Linz I hope your chat goes well with hubby. 810 plan would be slightly cheaper as well for you as you have a family to keep.

I realised today that my protein shake is not a SS meal replacement but rather a supplement. I looked at so many I obviously picked up the wrong one. I think after tomorrow I will have finished the tub anyway and so I'm going to go back and investigate more.

Today, shake for breckie and lunch. Mango, kiwi and 6 crackers. 1TBs of pumpkin seeds. Dinner was japanese - tofu and vege (no rice) and 1/2 vege pancake. I've had 3 ltrs of water and after dinner because not enough protein with my meal so I had a protein bar when I got home.

Trying at the moment to stay busy and away from the cupboard. Really hoping that my new diet plan is going to pay off on Thursday next week.

X

am sure it will bren :D

sorry linz but 810 won't be cheaper because you still have to have 3 shakes a day and then a small meal too... 1000 works out about the same as you have 2 shakes and then some food too... how did the chat with OH go?

abz xx

hi, I'm not worried about what I eat anymore as long as I don't eat too much or too less or the wrong food... I've realised that while on my diet I probably wasn't eating enough, I mean I would eat a decent lunch somedays and eat fruit for lunch other days. also I've had the expierence of looseing weight without even trying, I just avoided junk food and snacks!!! I'm now concentrating on going to the gym three times a week, and for now ive ditched the scales, havent weighed myself for a week :)

Oh sorry Linz I just thought that on 810 you would be having 2 shakes..... doh!

Well I've had my first protein drink and this morning off to the gym then the chemist (if I have time) to buy perhaps Optifast meal replacement. I might have to go after my facial!!!! yay havent had one of these in a while.

Might consider too next week during the week to replace all my meals with shakes and have 2 or 3 days where I have 2 shakes and a low cal meal. Really want some result in 3 weeks time! Hoping to get my waist down to 76cm! before I go home.

I think it is now time to break out the sit ups everynight and morning also for 3 weeks. I'm hoping to loose about 4 kilos, I reckon I have lost the 5th one already this week as I'm feeling less bloated. 4 kilos equates to about 8.8lbs.

Facial was divine! I did 45 min cardio at the gym and walked to the beautician and then to the gym, shops and back home so an extra 20mins I thinks.

So I've had another look at all the meal replacers and Optifast and Slimfast and Ultraslim all have a high carb intake. There was another scientific doctors brand with a low carb and fat and high protein very similar to the one that I bought at the beginning of the week, however, they only have chocolate.... I hate chocolate flavoured milk and drinks crazy I know!

I bought a brand called Slimming Sensation from the health food shop however.... it says on the front in big letters 'meal replacer' then on the back 'should be used in conjunction with your diet and exercise and not used as SS, or you should consult your doctor'.

Anyway it must be intended at some point to be used a SS as it does say 'meal replacer on the front' (in big letters i might add!).

So back to 2 shakes and a low cal meal for dinner, 2 peices of fruit and 3 ltrs of water. I am exercising and allowing myself 100g of yoghurt, a protein bar, crackers (sometimes with mozzarella cheese) and pumpkin seeds when I feel like it. Our football teams last match for the season this Saturday so I might have a glass of wine.

Basically trying not to think about being on a "diet" so it's easier to stick to. You know the whole 'it's a lifestyle change and everything in moderation.

honey, be really careful as it's the small print that counts. it may say meal replacer but it's probably similar to slimfast in that you have to have a balanced meal as well or you'll end up ill... as that seems to be what you are now planning then that's fine :) but please don't try and use it on it's own. brands like cambridge have to pass all manner of things to be able to be used as total food replacement...
