I've just asked my brother about driving and borrowing his car, and based on his estimation of how efficient his car is, it looks just about as cheap to get the train.

He asked me if I wanted to go. Yes, I said, well, he said, I think you should just go! He said that I have a new job to look forward to with more money coming in soon and that I should go for it!

So I think my mind is pretty much made up, that I'm coming!!! Assuming of course that Susan is still up for sharing, as I also can't justify a room to myself!

I get paid overnight tonight so I'll probably book the train tomorrow.

Won't be need my helicopter then?? Bloomin typical you just get it finished and then look what happens

Looking forward to meeting you on Friday evening. I live about 15 minutes from Brighton on the train and it turns out I'm meeting someone for lunch at the Marina on Friday as well.

So, as this thread is now on page 24, can you tell me what hotel you are all meeting at and about what time on Friday evening people will start arriving?

You managed to finish the chopper even without my empty wine bottle? Bottle's still half full in the fridge coz I decided to hop on the CD bandwagon again! Mind you I don't think it'll take much to persuade my brother to drink it!!!

Most people are staying at Jurys Inn near to the Station.

Jurys Inn Brighton - Brighton hotels, Brighton accommodation

I don't know what arrangements there are for Friday, although Cat (Kitteh) and Irene will be there from tomorrow so will definitely be around on Friday during the day time and others will be turning up at various times during the day on Friday I suspect.

I've checked out the Jury's Inn site and it's still quoted at £109 per night per room if you book through them direct.

Laterooms.com has it at £89.00 for Friday and £109.00 for Saturday so works out cheaper - and you don't have to pay until you get there either

And I'd have to be back home by 4pm to get Ian to the airport.... flying back to flippin London

I used to go out with a guy from Tunbridge Wells. He worked in Brighton and took me on my first ever trip there.

He dumped me via text message.

It's a good excuse to take a detour and torch his place on the way down .... only problem is, I'd have to face DQ when I got to Brighton and I KNOW she'd be disappointed with me.

Well, a 7hr+ drive down, unable to drink cos of early start to do same journey back, and we live 50miles from the airport too and I can't persuade him to stay down south for the weekend, cos he'd need to be home for the kids. Basically, its too much for me to cope with for an overnight just now :cry: I'm going to store up some brownie points (cos i get some by NOT coming lol!) and save them for Dublin, Amsterdam...... you get my drift

3 hours? That's no distance at all. It took me nearly 5 hours to drive to Liverpool - but it was well worth it when I got there
