Caledonian Dukan

Very happy Dukan-wise today: lost 4 1/2 lbs this week which puts me 1/4 lb below what I was on Christmas Day. I know it will probably be a long, slow slog to get this last stone off but I'll get there in the end. This diet really works well for me as I can eat and lose weight! Looking forward to tonight's PV dinner - garlicky mince with roasted BNS, spinach and brussel sprouts. I feel so much healthier eating this way.

Kids are playing happily, and with nothing electronic, so am sat listening to Johnny Cash with a cup of tea and trying to ignore the fact I have serious amounts of washing up to do! Can't wait till dinner. Ahh, someone is whining - normality returns!!

No whining here but loads of washing up - will have to do it or else I wont be able to get in the kitchen to cook later :( im too busy on MM x

Sooo thrilled for your weight loss Mrs CD - true weight just around the corner. Hope the children stopped whinging - I just got in from swimming with my very tired little boy who insisted on jumping off the side again and again without any idea to get away from the side and to jump forward so I was having heart failure for a bit! He couldn't stop whinging once we were out of the water but was just exhausted and needed his bed. Think I do too! Very tired tonight and looking forward to my day off tomorrow. Weigh in too which always makes me a bit anxious but hey ho it will be what it will be!!! LOL Understatement that the diet works for you - your weight loss is phenomenal!!! Do you have before and after pics??? Should post them! x

Good idea Trudy, next time hubby here I'll get the couple of photos I have from before off him and put them up with one of now - good motivation when I'm feeling low! Don't worry with only losing a pound this week, it all averages out so next week or the week after you'll probably have a higher than normal loss. I know it's hard not to feel dispirited but just keep focused on your long-term goal!

Meeting up with a friend this afternoon for a good gossip, which should be fun. Really did not want to get up so early when the alarm went off this morning, have to get used to school routine again! Anyway, omelette for lunch and think I'll have a wee bit of yoghurt too. Hope everyone has a good Dukan day today :)

Thanks for that - getting over my sulk now - had a good day of retail therapy and a real blitz of the bedroom so feeling better and v positive. Just had BNS and Chicken curry and muffins with Strawberry cream cheese icing that was yum - small things please small minds.
Hope you had a great day and a good catch up with your friend. Hate the return to school thing - mind you enjoyed a few hours on my own this morning (my day off) which was bliss and I was very lazy and watched my secret fav program Homes Under The Hammer!!! Sad I know. Can't wait to see the before and after pics - must get some sorted to post - can't believe how I looked in August and how I look now! LOL!

My favourite secret program is Jeremy Kyle, but haven't watched it for years as don't want kids seeing it, is it still on? My 15year old loves "Homes under the Hammer"!
Today I have a three year old and four year old with a stomach bug, and I can't work out whether I feel sick because I'm getting it or because I've disinfected the kitchen and bathroom and bleach/dettol stink! Blurgh.

Lordy you poor thing - hope the children are feeling better - just the thought of the Dettol smell is making me feel queasy!!! Hope you have managed to stay on plan with all the stress of two little sick ones. Think I would struggle! Where is Mr CD when you need him - tell him you will swap places with him for a couple of days. Take care of you! Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow! BTW Jeremy makes me cringe when I watch it - but it's compulsive viewing you can't turn it off! LOL x

Yeah, kids all better today and seven year old not come down with it (yet), I feel exhausted though probably from the stress and not sleeping well as listening out for them. The joys of parenting. Very hungry today but think it's just because I'm bored. Need to make more muffins up but if I made them now I would want to scoff the lot  Think I'll make them after dinner!

glad they are better CD ... nothing worse than sick kids... well there is its sick hubbys and the dreaded man flu LOL

Glad to read little ones better you should be able to get a good night's sleep at least. Im tired tonight been up since 5.20 a.m giving my daughter a lift to work just down the road she started her shift at Starbucks at 5.30 so I think it will be an early night for me.

Batch of chocolate orange muffins made for the freezer last night, think I'll do a batch of ginger and rhubarb later so I can alternate them. Anything that I can do to keep cheerful that doesn't cost much!! Made the kids lentil and brussel sprout soup last night, they ate it quite happily! Going for a "power-walk" with a friend this afternoon - she's ten years younger than me but will be pushing a pushchair so I'm hoping I'll be able to keep up :D

Good on you keeping on top of things CD - enjoy your power walk - you watch you will be leaving her behind!!! Glad the children are better, has the Dettol smell gone???? Not feeling the lentil and brussel soup, actually I am sure it was lovely, just the brussels are putting me off though I will happily eat both ingredients seperately - love my mum's lentil soup which I couldn't have for the first time ever this Christmas - have to say I did get over it but it's always been a real diet staple for me and I did miss it at first!! Is you weigh in on Sat? Fingers crossed the scales will show another great loss this week and your target will be just ahead of you. Have a good day and hope the rain stays away for your walk. Not looking too promising down south!!! x

Hi Trudy, yes the dettol smell finally went! I miss lentil soup too - simple but satisfying! My weigh-in is Sunday, think I'll be back to losing little amounts again but don't care as it will all come off in the end as long as I keep following Dukan. Very very happy today as bought a SIZE 8 (!!) top that fits beautifully. Wow! What a motivational boost. Just need to get in to size 8 jeans and I would be ecstatic. Just baked a batch of rhubarb and ginger muffins and taken giblet stock out of the freezer to make spicy turkey soup tomorrow - am trying to use homemade stocks rather than stockcubes as it is so much nicer.

Yum can I have some spicy turkey soup pls - really need to buck up on PP days - well in general really as eating the same things day in day out - though for the most part I am enjoying everything I eat!! Size 8 is CRAZY and sooooo exciting - well done you - photos are a must now - honestly don't think I will ever be a size 8 - will be v happy to be a 12/14 - just nice to be able to buy from any shop - mind up what is a topshop 14??? a size 10?? Would love to buy something out of topshop!!! LOL. Not sure I can follow you with home made stock - too squeamish to handle the horrible bits - nearly faint taking the skin off a chicken or the rind off a steak! Hopeless. I have a feeling the scales will be good to you this week so my fingers are crossed till Sunday and I'll look out for your post!!! How many days till Mr CD home? Bet he will love the size 8 Mrs CD!!!! x

Trudy - to be brutally honest think Mr CD preferred when I was much bigger in the chest department!! But tough, he does understand it's better to be healthy than to have enormous knockers. I find cooking quite relaxing and as my Mum went to convent boarding school I was taught to be prosaic rather than squeamish from an early age!

Really enjoyed my ginger and rhubarb muffin with vanilla cream cheese icing this chilly morning. Feels such a treat. Am contemplating making some carrot and courgette muffins for PV breakfasts, they should be lovely and moist and sweet.
My youngest has started nursery this week, so for the first time in 8 years I have two hours a day with no children!!! Today, think I'm going to head home and spend 30 min or so going up and down the entire three flights of stairs in the close - cheap exercise that I can follow with a cup of tea and some mindless daytime TV. Miss my husband very, very much - see him again 13th Feb but only for a couple of days. And he'll need to spend one with his grandparents who miss him too.

Our Misters like us to be happy and healthy. We need to not put our thoughts in their heads :) Has MR CD said anything about the knockers - Mine hasn't even though I complain about their state he is still very complimentary <blushing>

Carrot and courgette muffins sound yum CD. Its lovely to have 2 hours of ME time isnt it. When you have loads more time to yourself you wish they were babies again :)

I know Chris, I do it all the time with my teenage daughter!! Today, I spent 1/2 hour exercising and 1 1/2 hours watching Jeremy Kyle!! It was bliss. :)
