Cashew Nuts

Hi guys

Ran off to uni to study for tomorrow's exam and forgot my tetras, was at uni from 9.30 till 3.30 and eventually caved and ate some cashew nuts. A girl in uni said she follows Atkins and she can eat them without affecting ketosis.

I follow CD 790 so was just wondering should I forget my evening meal to balance out the cashew nuts.

They were about 160cals and 6g carbs.

Hi minime,
You made a good choice and I feel you should eat your meal this evening for if you don't you will end up feeling deprived and this can activate the old chatter box.

This diet journey is about learning how to make good healthy choices for ourselves and in the scheme of things you get 10 out of 10 for that.

If you feel guilty abut the extra calories you go work it off doing some house work or dancing to some music or going for a 20 minute brisk walk etc.

Diet Nutrition & Cashew Nuts:

Cashew nuts, like all nuts, are an excellent source of protein and fiber. They are rich in mono-unsaturated fat which may help protect the heart. Cashew nuts are also a good source of potassium, B vitamins and folate. They contain useful amounts of magnesium, phosphorous, selenium and copper.
Like peanuts, cashew nuts are often salted. This added sodium content may contribute to increased blood pressure. So buy plain roasted cashew nuts without added salt.
Calories in Cashew Nuts:
1 oz/25g = 160 calories

Thanks Kazz/Mini

Feels great that I actually made a good choice when on a diet, its normally a binge choice.

I'm still gonna have my meal tonight as well, I'm sure the stress of studying will help burn off some of the calories too.
