Hi minimel and kira,

Minimel - yes 6 stone was way too low I was anorexic pretty much but yea I somehow ended up up to 12 stone when I finally gained weight. Sad thing is started at 9 and a half stone at 17 years old before I dieted and I so should have left it at that as my poor body has been through too much! But yes I'm trying to follow the steps properly and stop the up n down. I am familiar with beck from my psychology degree so will definitely look into that, thanks :)

Kira that's true about dress sizes! Very odd but everyone holds weight differently. I'm exactly as you describe with all of it on the bum n thighs! Sometimes it helps hide it all away but that's what allowed my weight to creep up and I just stopped wearing and buying trouser and kid myself wearing my size 12 dresses with leggings! But I feel a big difference so far. Your plan sounds really good and SS+ seems to bring just as good results as SS. I'm now a bmi around 25 but so scares to go to 810 cos I fear a binge once food is an option!

I did Cambridge earlier this year but quit stupidly.... then started Slimming world last week but feel so bloated and like i have put weight on .... so think it's back to Cam on Friday would love to buddy up with you as it does help to talk:sigh:

Omg! Lara I do exactly that! Dresses or tunic tops with leggings!! Mind you I am struggling to squeeze myself into size 12 dresses and hence enough was enough!

I did 810 previously after SS and provided you weigh and write it all down You should be ok. It's continuing that practice I guess that we all have problems with once we reintroduce food. That Imthinkmis the ultimate challenge, certainly for me.

Hiya thanks for your reply. well i start on friday and the consultant is coming to see me. im about 12stone 10pounds :( i put on alot of weight in the last 2 years but i want to lose about 3 stones , ideally i want to be about 9stone as im about 5.3 or until i dont look so fat. im so glad i found this forum as i have always had a weight issue but no one to really talk to and i lost alot of confidence as i dont really talk about my weight as im quite emabressed. but im so glad i have people on here to talk to :)
 
I wish I were two inches taller! It would make the difference between being ok or overweight on those charts and BMI!! I do think those charts are a guide really because I carry so much fat on my bum, tum and thighs yet I small on the shoulders and have relatively slim legs. So it isn't the actual weight that bothers me it is my dress/jean size.

Having said that there is a huge difference in sizes in the shops and also from 5-10 year ago (ok showing my age) as all my old clothes seem much smaller than the size 10 and 12's today!!! I wish the clothing manufacturing industry would label sizes properly!


OMG -- I could have written this post. They are (the older clothes) sized much smaller. When I was at goal (which is 10 pounds heavier than I was in my younger days -- was fitting into UK 8s. I was NEVER at 8, not even 10 pounds thinner!

I'm exactly the same I never ever talk about weight or tell any one how it runs my life! We have a similar goal and I'm 5 foot 2.5 :) roll on Friday ay! How come u didn't do it earlier in week? Xxx

i wanted to but i have been so busy with work etc and i am off friday so thought il start it then. so where abouts you from? i wished we could PM each other lol
i cant wait to start i really want to say this is the last diet i will ever be on and lose the weight once and for all
 
That's the spirit! Well post 50 posts n then we both can :) I think I'm nearing 50 somehow lol.. I'm from London I'm 25 and also know this is gonna be the last diet ever I am sure we can and will do this :) x

Haha I hope it works well I'm glad u could relate but also will be lovely when we can both wear what we actually wanna wear! Leggings and long tops/ dresses are great denial clothes though!!!! X

Minnie, I am so sad I have in the past measured my old slim clothes against slim clothes from 2009 and they definitely differ in size! Having said that right now I'd rather be in 2009 size 10 than what I am now (size 14 to 16). Lara, ok I admit tunics and leggings are denial clothes........just haven't quite faced up to it hence I am wearing them! The slim me simply wouldn't wear them!

How are you both doing today? Day 4 for me and I'm feeling ok. Drinking more water and miraculously no headache?! Feel very tired in the evening and I fall asleep very quickly. In ketosis too (ketostix showed pink) though I only check first thing in the morning. So for me so far so good. I know I will inevitably have a few challenges and days when I simply want to eat so must keep focussed and busy.

Well guess what - today I am braving jeans instead of the denial clothes lol some size 12 ones I have - just tried them on and they are tight but think they are meant to be that fit!! The tummy falls out at the top tho yuck! But hey in 16 pounds time they'll probably be all lose!

Keep up the water drinking Kira is best thing we can do! Xx

i am starting tomorrow... im sort of excited and nervous but i really wana do this once and for all and this is the last diet i want to say i will ever go on
 
LL don't want to put a damper on things but from experience all I can say to succeed one has to change one's eating habits once the weight comes off. Otherwise you can end up in the vicious cycle like many of us losing, gaining, struggling, losing and then all over again.

I'm on day 4 and whilst I am in ketosis I have found today harder than I anticipated. Yesterday was ok but today due to a couple of stressful issues that have come up all i want to do is to eat to comfort myself. I know it won't make the stress of the issue go away I also know even to allow myself a little no carb food will only derail me as I'll convince myself I need it. Before I know it I'll blow SS and then binge eat because I feel quilts and then continue to eat because I'm fat anyway. Cycle continues.

Keep focused and strong don't let yoursel of anyone derail you.
