Oh charley you sound like me!!

I feel like I'm spinning on my head! And nothing works! Not because it doesnt, but because I don't let it and can't follow a full bloody week on plan!

A work colleague Had the hypno gastric band on Sunday and said she felt great. But I dunno. If that was so good then everyone would have done it and lost weight surely??!!

I had a session of that... Hmmmm. I got it off group on (no space obvs) and I'm sure the guy was trying to rip me off. He said I needed another two sessions (which equated to about £500!) he did this session and said to me that I was 'under' whether I thought it or not then just said loads of things about step to the left if you want to lose weight blah blah. It was weird! I remember laying there thinking oh no I've forgotten to get chicken out the freezer lol.

I just don't think he was very reputable. Then he kept texting me at like 5am about his latest offer. Yack x
 
I do think I might benefit talking to someone, but then I think I might just be seeing someone for nothing, because it doesn't get me down or depressed. I kind of just shrug it off as "me being me" - I was considering a hypnotherapist actually - maybe that might help. Or maybe I just need that Willpower once and for all!!

The things I don't like about SW are pretty much what you said. I don't like that you are deterred from using olive oil, I know you can use it as a HEB or syn it, but I believe that olive oil is pretty essential to your general health and well being, hair, skin etc. I think things like avocados, which are sooooo good for you, are so high in syns. I hate anything fake too. I hate all the foods that contain sweetners, they are not good for your health, but they do help you lose weight. . . I decided that I would rather have a little of something "banned" on SW rather than being able to have a lot of something else. Muller lights and fat free yogurts are stuffed with crap, chemicals. I would much rather have 2 tbsps of full or lower fat greek yogurt with some natural honey. I know you can have fat free plain yogurt but it tastes rank! I think SW also gets me into bad habits, reaching out for a sweet chewy cereal bar for a HEB rather than 20 almonds, or whatever it is these days. Giving myself the green light to pile up the plate with pasta/potatoes/rice etc. if I do SW then I do take the portion control to the brink, because I can!!

My healthy eating plan does more or less follow SW, as I consciously think I always will now, i.e only one helping of cheese a day / bread or cereal control. But I will eat avocados and I will have butter, but only rarely now. I have a great plan in my little head, I just need to stick to it!!!!

I agree with you about slimming world there. I also hate that they seem to put such little emphasis on exercise cos it makes me think 'who cares if I gym or not'. I'm just kind of thinking at the moment that I'll lose weight now and focus on proper healthy eating once I'm slim. But to be honest, I rarely have their hi life bars, I've never had a mugshot and I don't put sweetener on anything. The only thing I like every now and then which I don't think is healthy is that pasta n sauce which I use to make the quiche. Ooooh, and muller lights actually. I have one every day on my porridge oats, but I team it with tons of fruit so I'm happy to let that one slide - otherwise my fruit and fibre intake would be far lower each day.

I think there's something about the beginning of the year you know that makes it so hard to diet. When it's hot it's so much easier to diet! Well, I think so anyway :)

Did you manage to get to the gym at all?

All in all a delicious food day. I need tomorrow to be a good'un too!!

You said it exactly how I feel it Mrs S. I know my diet (whatever one I am ever on!) would work, it would work if I let it! I just get this stubborn wave hit me like 'why can't I have it?' It's a weakness that I have to try and get over. I considered the gastric band hypno, but I think it's something different for me, I think I need to be stronger, think differently about food. Maybe I should go for a consultation to see if there is anything that might work....or maybe I just need to grow a pair, grow up and get strong! I have strength in Every other aspect of my life - food is my Achilles

That's another thing that concerns me about hypnotherapy- I reckon I will be too distracted to 'go under' !!

Your guy sounded like a right wrong un! Did he get on his horse afterwards, and ride into the sunset? Fecking cowboy!!!

Don't get me wrong, convenience foods like pasta in sauce and mugshot, Cereal bars have their place, they are convenient and I have had them plenty of times over the years, but I only think they are good as a back up if you are rushed, hungry and there is nothing else to hand, I tended to rely on them without really considering that for that little extra effort I could have real pasta with fresh sauce, that way I knew what I put in it. That's not SWs fault though, it's mine for being lazy, but when I am doing SW I would eat them 'because they are allowed' and I wouldn't have a mugshot for lunch, I would have it as an afternoon snack!

I would never slag SW because it is one of the safest and healthiest diets around. But I love the more Mediterranean way of cooking, oils, nuts, avocados, legumes etc.

Funnily enough I find summer the hardest time if year to stick to! I think its cos of all the socialising and going away for weekends etc. let's face it Sarag, I am a naughty bunny all year round?.

Cheers Sophie, I always think that about other peoples food but it's always so nice when someone thinks that about your own food.

Cauli mash, it's as easy as regular mash, just cut up boil and salt the cauli as you usually would, when ready drain and mash with a masher and add some cream cheese of your choice, I used garlic and herb Phili light but I have done it with the laughing cow blue cheese, and that rocks! Primula light is also amaze (the taste reminds me of a poor mans Brie?!?) anyway after that, add whatever herbs and spices you like, I added a tsp of curry powder and some fresh thyme. In the past I have added dried oregano, or dried rosemary. Just go for it.

I had half last night and the rest of it tonight! One large cauli in two days, trumpet trousers Char or what?!? No poo fairy problems for me!!! (Not that I ever have problem a mind.....!)

He was from Worthing randomly! He was slippery. I'm glad I got a cheaper voucher but suffice to say I didn't go back x
 
Thursday 6th March
Can I just say to all you ladies who have posted over the last few days, thank you :thankyou: I am so glad that I came back on here after my fall from heaven!

As I have said before, in the past I would skulk off and eat more food, but coming on here and hearing words of support, empathy and encouragement has really helped. I don't care if I gain this week, I deserve it, what I do care about is the fact that I have picked myself up and have spent the last few days gaining back my control and eating better and healthier, which is ultimately my main goal. I feel a lot stronger today and that is partly me but mainly from the cyber cuddles I have been getting from y'all and just the right dose of wound licking I have been giving myself.

I am sure I would benefit from talking to someone if things get too bad, but right now my friends on here are giving me just the right amount of :psiholog: care and support I need.

So fanks everybody!

Ok so tomorrow is weigh in, I am not dreading it, I have made my peace with that battery operated machine from HELL!:flamingmad: No, really I am fine with the scales of DOOM AND DESTRUCTION :flamingmad: .... from tomorrow onwards I have nothing planned, the weekend is going to be quiet and peaceful, which means I can try and stay on track. The only fly in my ointment next week is a lunch date with a work friend at GBK! I haven't been there for years and I have been really looking forward to it. Other than that, I have a quiet 7 days ahead of me. I have my meals roughly planned and I have decided to go back to the gym from tomorrow morning and do some gentle exercises.

I have been doing my stretching exercises on my hip and for my ankle. I don't want to ruin the good work I am doing my doing anything weight bearing - treadmill, cross trainer, rowing machine, etc. I will just use the bike and the weight machines and I might try swimming, although I am not sure how I will get on with the breast stroke with my hip, but if I don't try I will never know right?

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean, which is why I haven't let myself enjoy mugshots - cos I would have them as a snack probably! I think homecoming is key for both health and weightloss, and actually it tastes so much better. It's just the lack of imagination and dishwasher that sometimes stops me!

Ah ah that is true! But I think when I go out in summer I'm happy with a glass of wine whereas in winter I want a big stodgy meal, chocolate, baileys, snowballs etc. All I can say is I hope I am better in summer as I have hit a massive slump this winter! Pleaaaaaase let me be better in summer! Haha.

Hope weigh in goes okay tomorrow lovely - you never know, you might completely surprise yourself!

Haha, I made a bean casserole and ate it for 3 meals in 2 days....my husband almost re-packed my suitcase and sent me on another holiday!!
