Charleybarley tries again - Jan 2013

Monday 29th October

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was very good, heavy on the food and el vino but it was lots of fun, except when I left my lights on in my car and drained my battery at the Spa - thankfully a kind lady lent me her jump leads and some kind man at the hotel helped me jump start my car.

So back on it today:

B - I felt quite queasy this morning, so I never had anything at home - I got to work and had a pack of ryvita minis (HEB), a yogurt and an apple

L - Chicken salad with a boiled egg (1) for LF salad cream and a roast chicken mugshot

image-3751424950.jpg

D - Uncle Ben's Rice (2.5) with HEA of cheese grated on my rice - fruit afterwards

Snacks - banana, apple x3, popcorn (5)

Tuesday 30th October

Well, last night didn't quite go as planned. I had planned to make my own popcorn for the cinema, stupidly I managed to burn it in the microwave and almost burned the kitchen down in the process! I was naughty and had a large bucket of salted popcorn:break_diet: Thats 40 syns!!!

I also weighed myself this morning to look for any damage that the popcorn and my naughty weekend may have caused and I am currently up 4lbs! So the 4lbs I lost last week is back! I am not usually a serial weigher and thankfully I don't give much truck to mid-week weigh ins, but it has made me cautious and I will be an angel for the rest of the week! :angel09: . Unfortunately my heel and hip are still giving me grief so I am reluctant to do any exercise at the mo either.

So food today:

B - 2 LMc Red Onion and Rosemary Sausages, Wholemeal Roll (HEB), 1x cheese triangle light (part HEA) and onion marmalade. Milky coffee (part HEA)

L - Jacket Potato and Beans and Salad (1) salad cream (.5) butter bud

D - Beef Panang Curry with roasted cauliflower. I have had to guesstimate the syns for this as the panang paste that I bought from the Asian Supermarket last week doesn't have any nutritional values on it. So I will over compensate and say 5 syns per tbsp (I used 2 tbsps) (10) and I also used 2 tbsps coconut milk powder, which is roughly 3 syns per tbsp (6) and I used 450ml (HEA). So that is 16 syns divided 4 (portion) - therefore 4 syns per portion plus 1/4 HEA.

Snacks - 2x apple, nectarine, banana, yogurt

Syns - 5.5

Water - 2 litres

Thursday 1st November

Well the last 48 hours that wagon I was well and truly on? Well I fell off and I am currently bouncing across the road totally out of control!! !:beam:

I am not too disheartened as I tend to fall off the wagon sometimes, the hardest part for me is getting back up their - a bit like when I try and get out of a swimming pool without the assistance of a ladder - its messy and awkward.

So the fabulous 4lbs off last week is looking like 5lbs ON today, of course I have today acknowledge my wagon falling off and will start again today, even though weigh in is not til tomorrow, I doubt one day of being good will make much difference to the damage. I do think though, even though I have been bad, I didn't think I had been "5lb on" bad - still who knows, I shouldn't question the powers of the mighty scales...

So food today:

B - Bacon Roll (fat removed) (1) for ketchup, (2) for butter (HEB)

L - Chicken Pasta Salad (2) for Chilli Sauce.

D - Pasta in Sauce (1) with bacon and salad (1) for salad cream.

Snacks - 2 apples; nectarine, banana

Syns - 7

Water - 1 litres

Charley do not be disheartend. Even a day of being back on the wagon will help. Good luck with WI tomrrow. Have a fab day.

Charley, 5lbs can be a big chunk of water retained, especially if you've eaten salty food etc, you've prob only gained 1-2lbs.

I never WI right after going off plan as know salty foods like takeaways etc make me have a short term gain of bloat.

You know what you did, just try to be 100% for the next couple of weeks and you'll be back on track x

Sorry you've made me laugh again.. Trying to get out the swimming pool I look like a beached whale.. Or so my dad used to tell me!!

Stay on track today even though it'll be tempting to be naughty, it might just pull it back, can you have a very low syn or syn free dinner?

Really feel for you but think what a fab weekend you had x

Thanks Rosie, I am feeling so much less bloated today, and more energetic - I really dont know why I bother being bad when the outcome is feeling sluggish and tired - I hadn't been drinking my 2 litres a day either (on top of other drinks I drink throughout the day) so I feel much more spritely today.

I think you might be right you know. Thinking about it, I have had lots of salty things over the last few days. KFC last night, burrito for lunch yesterday, on Tuesday I was on my own and of course that gives me the green light to be bad, so I bough southern fried fillets and had them all in 2 wholemeal pittas, with plastic cheese, I had a small pork pie AND a lamb pattie (shop bought) followed by a big bag of sweet popcorn from Morrys AND on Monday I had a large bucket of salted popcorn at the cinema..... my god when its all written out it seems so so awful doesn't it?! I have been a naughty girl and have eaten lots of salt and fat. It really does serve me right if I do show a 5lbs gain tomorrow.

Oh I know Helen, everything I do looks ungainly, it always does when you are big, I even look at some big women when they walk their swinging arm goes right out and I am determined not to walk like that cos its a fat bird's walk in my mind, so I try to walk purposely with big fast strides, so instead of looking like a fat bird, I look like a bloke!

Today has been good, I have done really well, except - we are off to the cinema again tonight - I really don't want to go - not because of the film, but because of the popcorn addiction I have! I think I will try and duck out of it and Mick can go on his own and see it.

x

This made me laugh. Love your sense of humour.

Friday 2nd November - WEIGH IN DAY :scale:

Well the grand total of weight on this week is ....... 6lbs!!! :ashamed0005::help2::flamingmad::thankyouthankyou: there are frankly not enough smileys to cover how I am feeling today, ashamed, angry, but the one I am trying to find is "not surprised"

I am surprised that it is THAT much because that to me is how much you put on when you go on holiday, not when you fall off plan for the week, but I am not surprised in the sense that I know my body and I know that my body is unforgiving when I cheat.

I have decided not to be that bothered by the number, it is only a number after all, but what I am going to do is never be this figure again and I am going to be 100% this week - I will do this!

I am not going to be down in the mouth about it, life is far too short for that, gone are the days that I live in depression for a few days after a bad weigh in, I am going to be strong and positive. And one thing I am not going to do is be ultra good, I used to do that and punish myself by not having enough syns and scrimping, I am just going to do what I usually do and stay on plan. Its starts today:

So food:

B - BLT (HEB for WW petit pain) (.5) for ELF mayo

L - Jacket Potato, Cheese (HEA) and beans with salad

image-3777862563.jpg

image-3101347104.jpg

D - Nandos - 1/2 chicken (visible skin off) spicy rice (2.5) and tomato and onion salad (2) for piri piri sauce (2) salad cream

Snacks - 2 oranges, banana, apple, satsuma, yoo yogurt (2)

Syns - 9

Water - 2 litres

We are going to Ikea tonight to look at bedroom furniture. The decorating is now more or less done, I have a lovely wall of cool wallpaper and we are nearly there. I love walking around Ikea, although I am pretty sure it won't be as much fun with an unwilling boyfriend who just wants to go home, watch TV and eat Nandos!

Look at my lovely new wallpaper ...

Morning Charley, you are so right not to dwell on the number and know that you are never going to be that number again and yes you can be 100% this week, we're all behind you, keep posting your food on here as it'll keep you in check.

Good idea not to be overly strict as then you'll end up having a blow out, just stick to plan as we all know it works if we do it properly, enjoy yourself at Ikea and Nandos and keep that chin up.

I saw this picture as well and thought of what you just said

Never mind we all have bleeps from time to time and as you pointed out the secret is to stay with the plan and it will come off before you know it.

Have fun at IKEA and nando.

I agree with Hells

I'm thinking this more a water retention gain as opposed to a proper weight gain
there's no way you could put that much on weight wise otherwise C
I have to admit it I asked my hubby yesterday
Do I have a Fat Bird Walk ? Lol

Boo, I still maintain I reckon most will come off next week though.

Enjoy Ikea, I love the place, you're making me fancy a trip this weekend now...

I know right? Boooooo indeed. I hope it will come off next week, I am going to try my darndest.

The ikea trip was cancelled, there was terrible problems on the QE Bridge, I live right near there and the roads all round us were bumper to bumper, so we are heading out there this morning, looking forward to spending some money!!

Ah thanks Helen. I am quite relaxed about it. As I said before, I know my body and how unforgiving it can be. I am going to be strong and laugh in the face of that 6lbs!!!

Thanks for the picture too, very true it is indeed!! Xx

I hope it is water Mumma, but I also know I have been naughty - I personally would have thought I was only 3lbs worth of naughty but hey - it's been a little wake up call.

Nah Mumma, you won't have a fat bird walk - for a start, you're not fat!!!

Xx
