chelle's diary

Hey my lovely hows you? Just popped in to say don't be downhearted about your loss! The key word here is that it's a LOSS. You are doing fab my lovely so keep going! If you are stuggling for motivation try and way out enough stuff (ie cans or rice/sugar etc) and see how much you have lost. Losing a lb is a fab achievement and also it may not be as much as you wanted but it does bring you one step closer to goal :D

So chin up chicklet and keep as it *HUGS* x x x

:thankyou: thank you for that lovely lovely message :hug99:

im feeling good today, ive come to the decision that the reason it was only a pound is because i was due totm and i always get really bloated and heavy around that time!

ive been really good so far, i saved 7 points on friday and 5 yesterday and been drinking plenty of fluid as i think that helps!

thanks again for your support

xxxx

It might only have been a pound this week but all that work may well mean it will be more next week.

Good luck

Hey chelle soz been a bit awol on your diary lately but i did have an excuse for 2weeks & since ive been back ive had man & work traumas!

Am back to the ww way of life this week & not finding it hard at all in fact its a relief not to eat rubbish am looking forward to my tuna/jacket pot & salad for tea!

have a good week & fingers crossed for a nice loss thur for you xxxxx

:Dhi girls, i really need some advice and help and maybe a kick up the arse lol

i no its off topic but i just thought i'd post in here as im sure you will all be very honest with me!

i currently have my own mobile hairdressing business but with the current credit problem im suffering, ive not lost any clients but as some of them have lost there jobs or had hours cut back their going longer and longer inbetween treatments and im starting to struggle with the money situation.

i love my hairdressing and the only other thing ive wanted to do is be a carer, and i went for an interview today with a big company and they offered me a full time job as a care assistant and the money is really good and too good to turn down.

im sort of 99.9% sure im going to take the job because i think i would be a fool not to and the money would be great.

now heres my problem:

i still want to carry on doing my clients that ive done for 7 years but as this new job works in shifts (you have a different rota each week) i would struggle. i would only work alternate weekends so i could fit my hairdressing in on a saurday and sunday when im not working and also i could do hairdressing in the evenings after work but im just very very worried that some of my clients are going to be funny with me for having to change everything.

i thought i would just say to them instead of rebooking every 6 weeks if they ring me up when they want it doing and i will be able to tell them what time i can fit them in that specific week.

i no im rambling and probly making no sense but its bothering me and on one hand im ecstatic i got this job but on the other hand im worrying now

most self employed ppl ive spoken to have just said keep your head down and you will come through it but i'm not prepared to sit and struggle for money!

so i dont no what to expect you to say but some words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated :D:D:D

Hey chicken

I think in the current climate you would be mad to trun down the job, but only take it if you really want to do it! You've said that some of your clients have lost their jobs, well surely they will understand that you need to do this as you are struggling, they are struggling too hence the fact that they are not getting their hair cut as often. Like you said you're not going to stop doing it completely so I think they should be happy with that. There is nothing worse than worrying about money. I've done for many years and had to go and ask for help, so I think if you have the chance to tide things over, even if it's for a short period of time then go for it. Sounds silly but don't listen to the other people that have businesses as I can guarantee if they had a lifeline handed to them they would take it too! No body knows how long this is going to last in GB so how long do you put your head down and wait for it to get better??

Hope that helped a bit!

Hiya

I agree - go for the job :)

If It were me, I'd explain to my clients that although I am taking on a full time job, my commitment to them has not changed and although we may have to do some juggling on dates at times, you'll still be available.

Anyway - congrats on the job! Hope the rota isn't too bad! (rota's are my job so always interested in what patterns people work lol)

Hiya chelle my hairdresser is mobile & she became pregnant last year so afta she had the baby didnt work for 3months:eek: i looked a right mess but was happy to wait for her to start work again & even now she only does 2days a week instead of 6. If your regulars are loyal to you they will fit around you so dont worry too much! xx

yeah thats what i think. to be honest i think most of them will be fine but i think there may be a few that wont be happy.
at the end of the day if they want me that much then they will be prepared to fit around me!

I am sure you can make the two work together
those clients you want to keep - explain to them the situation
how often in advance do you know your sifts - get them to ring up for an appointment knowing they will have to give you two weeks to fit them into the appointment book
good clients will more than understand and be only too grateful that you are still doing your hairdressing as well :)

To be honest Chelle when you're working full time you will perhaps be glad if one or two of your clients fall by the wayside for their hairdos otherwise you will be knackered. I'm sure many of them will fit round you as people are often very loyal to their stylist.

Hope it all goes well for you as there is nothing worse than worrying about money.

Good luck
