ClaireCat: trials and tribulations

... Just researching glycogen ?!?!

When you low carb (ie atkins) you lose glycogen out of your liver, glycogen holds a lot of water which is why first weeks you tend to lose a lot more. Once you start back on carbs your body starts to store glycogen again (and with added water) so the weight goes back up again, mine certainly does!

Ok. Holland and Barrett Whey Powder Vanilla review.

...interesting.... lol!

I mixed it with water and used my hand blender to mix it. Smelled lovely, and tasted not to bad either. Think I may have one for breakfast! Going to have to get the cookies and cream one I think! Perhaps I shall purchase some at the weekend! :)

Also, I'm thinking the protein powder with some flax or almond flour would make a damn tasty mim!

Edit: The OH tried some with milk and said it was ok if he drank it really quick! But I let him try mine with water and he looked like I'd tried to poison him! lol! But i quite liked it :)

Thanks Dr Quak! I did research it but your explanation was more understandable!

Claire - sounds like a great idea to mix with a mim! Good thinking!

Bren... I'd agree .. My taste buds are definitely different... I'm happy to have Atkins made with water - unheard of 4 months ago! Lol :)

Morning Claire :)

Morning!

Yeah, I know what you mean about the taste changing thing. I used to live off of toast and bread, and now I dont even think about it. I did have a greggs sandwich last week before I started my new diet and it was just chewy tasteless stuff to hold the filling.

Morning Claire:)
Wierd about tastes - local italian gave DH a free ice cream after dinner sunday. I tried one teeny little taste and had to wash my mouth out. So sweet - ugh!!!

I put a sugar in my coffee the other day instead of splenda and it was awful! Sickly sweet. Wont be doing that again!

i had that new mexican one on sunday and was amazing ;) x

Same! Toast for breakie, toast for lunch, toasties for dinner! lol! Bread and cheese! Winning combination! ;)

Morning Claire, yes me too Bren, even mashed potato

When I do have bread these days, I can really taste how much salt is in it - in fact, that goes for just about anything bought!

im enjoying my bread now :)

Oooh, you know what I love? A piece n crisps!

I'm sitting at work eating courgettes and chicken, thinking about having a takeaway for dinner. I wont, because I shouldnt... but its in my head. Chicken tikka and some mayo sounds delicious right about now.

Hopefully the notion will have passed by the time I finish. Perhaps I should go home via asda just to be on the safe side!
