Hi Kirsty, welcome to Atkins and our little forum love.
 
Morning Jim, morning all.. Sorry for being awol again, damn lappy gave up the ghost. Have bought a new charger and am now ready n raring to go again. Sadly still suffering with this damn nasty cold n cough :( Not counted my carbs these last couple days due to not being able to get online but i'm sure i've been around the right limit. WI showed a 0.5 gain but i'm counting it as a sts and not altering my ticker. I did go out sat night so it could well have been to do with that.

Kirsty, i lost 3 stone in 3 months on the cambridge diet and then have lost the rest doing atkins (albeit my own kinda version).

Hope everyone else is ok and not suffering this cold...

Sure will, it's horrid. I'm soo flippin tired with it too.. don't feel human! Made a yummy beef in leftover red wine stew yesterday for tea, was real comfort food.. Have got some mince in so considering your meatloaf for tea, just need to buy an onion whilst out later on.

16 for whole loaf.. not sure how much i'll be having yet. Will do some vegs to go with it too.. will add those on after.
 
Claire glad you are back and I hope feeling better.. you haven't posted in a few days I missed you :D

Hey Claire, hope you're feeling better with your cold! I had the same thing last week n felt absolute crap, but all better now!

Just catching up on your diary. I started Atkins (kinda my own version too! lol) on Monday but didn't realise how many carbs are in fruit! lol so am now steering clear from that! I was on WW since July but have only lost 7lb so decided I need a change. My partner David lost 3 stone from in 3 months from cutting out the carbs and I'm determined to do the same so he is helping keep me on track!

I considered CD but I don't think I would be able to survive on liquids... I would be far too crabbit! he he.

Sorry to be rambling on and taking over... lol
Just a quick question - David and I have booked to go away for the day on Saturday and will probably be going out for dinner. Not sure what is the best option as most will probably have carbs. Also alcohol?? I know I should be steering clear from this too but it's just not really realistic! lol xx
 
I'd go for any plain meat and a salad Kirsty, nothing with sauces and as for booze, Whisky, gin, bacardi and diet mixers will be the best. Be aware though, you'll feel the alcohol much more quickly on Atkins. :D
 
Morning all, thanks for the messages.. you are a lovely lot :) Still feeling really rough today, feel like my face has been smashed in with a brick. Sinus' are sore and woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat feeling like shards of glass.

Kirsty like Jim suggested, i'd probably go for a yummy steak (possibly with creamy mushroom sauce) and ask them to take the tatas off and replace with an extra large salad with a dollop of mayo. I tend to drink bacardi with diet coke (or coke zero if they have it), or the odd glass of rose wine. Just be aware like Jim says, the alcohol will definately hit you harder!! Make sure you keep your water levels up throughout the day and evening.

Back to work today at 1600hrs :( Hopefully the drugs throughout the day will make me feel a little better by then as can't afford to take any sick leave.

Not too worried about that though as feeling rough so eating what i fancy at the moment to a certain degree. Leftover meatloaf for work later.
 
It's a pity you can't any sick days because from the sound of it you really need to be in bed recovering... I hope this illness passes soon.. It's sounds like you may have the flu.. big hugs
