Cokes- back to it

Do you have an Aldi near you as they have ice cream makers for 19.99 tomorrow according to their emails..................:)

Hi! Yes I do live near an Aldi, Thanks Bren! I do think the mousse ice cream has solved my ice cream craving without having to buy one though. I was impatient and just shoved the mix into the freezer so of course it separated but what came out was like a like lolly/ice cream in a tub. I had added half a splenda to each tub, they were just little tubs and divided the mix into 6 of the tubs. Worked out that they would be like 1.5g carbs each including the splenda. Took me about half an hour to eat it with a teaspoon and I have to say I was very pleased with them, I still have 5 in the freezer so could easily last me the rest of the week. It's nice having another treat other than my jelly and cream. I wasn't really a sweet tooth before this either but I guess I'm seeing the sweet stuff as my treat now. Happy Rach.

Today I plan on doing very little. John is going to see his Dad, I saw mine the other day. We were meant to be going to Seahouses up the coast today for a family get together but John wasn't happy as he always sees his Dad today so that got pretty much cancelled. Shame really I was looking forward to the walk on Seahouses beach. Good in another way as they always get fish n chips, then have a buffet tea later on, so I would have had to take my own food since MiL isn't on it to be eating like me, I would have been the only one.

When John's out I might do something like sit and eat my ice cream in front of a kids film or something. Thats what Sunday afternoons are made for!

Lol - ice cream and movie:D

Have a nice sunday - we're off out to friends so might be a bit more manic!
Xxx

Enjoy yourself tonight Katie x

Sounds good Rachel

Saw the ice cream maker in Aldi but it's one of the ones you have to put in the freezer and I just don't have the room, with two week's meat in there already :)

Can you take me through your mousse ice cream step by step?

Well I know I did it wrong, didn't let it set as mousse before freezing it but it tasted ok, so here goes:

I made up sf jelly as stated on packet minus 100mls cold water (so made it up to 475mls instead of 575 as says on packet). Stirred for ages to cool it off a bit (think I should have waited til it was properly cool to add cream, but this way I didn't). I added 100mls cream to the jelly mix, stirred loads. Divided this mixture into 6 quite small pots. Realised I had forgotten to add some sweetner as I wanted the ice cream to be sweetish, so added half a teaspoon of splenda to each little pot. Then bunged it in the freezer til set.

See it was a botch job really. I should have waited til it set to mousse in the fridge mixing any separated bits first, then put it in the freezer. But actually it tastes perfectly fine the way I did it too but the way I did it I would classify it as a frozen dessert rather than ice cream if you know what I mean.

I'm having a night out on Thursday! Yay! Haven't been out in ages. Not very grand really as I'm just going to the village club to see a band. My hubby went to school with someone in the band. But I will be out and as glammed up as you can be for the village club on a thursday night. Looking forward to it :D

Gonna have to eat all of this ice cream before weds as sf jelly is classed as a frankenfood isn't it? I'm doing the bootcamp challenge. Clean and green and upping the excersise. Hoping to lose 30lbs in 14 weeks for october. I think thats doable as I haven't been on Atkins that long and I've lost 27. So here I come under 200lbs and in a sexy dress for my birthday!

And you will do it!

I dunno on the jelly front, I guess you have to allow yourself something sweet every now and again. I discovered that it doesn't last that long in the fridge, left a couple of small pots and one had mould on it last night ewwww :(

Eww to the mould. With the jellys I normally have either one or 2 a day when made up so they don't sit for too long but it would be easy to let one hide at the back and forget. I only have one pack left in orange which isn't my favourite so i'm leaving it for a while.

I'm thinking I need to do a bit of treadmill tonight, or maybe some wii. I'm getting too lax but will have stepped it up by wednesday. Just been watching a bit of biggest loser Oz and one of them got into her dream size 12 dress, she looked fab. Inspiring.

I'm lazy on sf jelly - have the ready made pots skulking in the fridge!
:)

I think I would too but isn't it quite expensive in comparison. A sachet, with two bits, is 42p, which makes up 8 1/4pt portions. Surely the prepacked works out loads more expensive. I haven't looked just guessing. It only takes 2 minutes to make (and a while in the fridge). The best thing about it is I find it very difficult to get wrong, maybe thats why I like making it up!

Morning Rachel

morning love x

Was about to say morning then realised the time! How are we all today?

I was adventurous and had a bit of a carby lunch- too many onions in it. All came up again! Think my body may be rejecting too many carbs. Is this possible? I feel fine, I'm not ill in any way. Who knows!

John's mam will be here soon with the result of her weigh in after her couple of weeks off. I hope she's ok. We'll most likely go for a nice walk too, weather is holding up so should be good.

Will report back later! x

strange i can eat a pizza and not get sick ;) good luck x
