Thursday Menu

Breakfast- 'breakfast' cous cous, frozen berries and )5 greek yogurt.

May be heading out in the morning for a bit of shopping (off work yay!) so maybe beans on toast in cafe and pass up on their lovely scones and jam.

Lunch- beans on toast (heb and 4 syns for butter!

Shape 0% yogurt, banana, coffee

Dinner- Sausage casserole; sausages (quorn for me), red pepper, onions, mushrooms, chopped toms, garlic and chilli. Using the shake and bake version for the meateaters.

Still have the options choc 'mousse' from the other day and it needs to be used so had that for dessert ( 2 syns).


Think I will have some ryvitta crackers (3= 1/2 heb) and dairylea as my remaining hex and the couscous with dried apricots (snack bag 35g =1/2heb) with golden syrup syrup (3 syns 1.5 tablespoons)


hea- 2x milk for tea/dairylea
heb- 2 (bread, 3 ryvitta, 35g apricots)

Made the breakfast couscous this morning and it was lovely. 100g cous cous (made 2 portions, so one for later!), lemon zest, cinnamon, sweetner and cardamon, 160mls boiling water and left it to sit for 5 mins while I sorted the boys out. Had it with greek yogurt and berries. It made a nice change, but I would say it needed the topping as it could be a bit dry otherwise.

I have another portion and think I'll have it drizzled with golden syrup later on. This would be a good one for work as there is not much too it, just weighing out the couscous the night before and adding sweetner etc. to it so all I need to do in the morning is add water. Good for days when you want to save a heb for later and the flavourings depend on wahtever mood you're in. Apple and cinnamon, orange and lemon with honey, could pop some raisins or sultanas in, almonds, I will have to experiment!
 
i see you had cous cous for breakfast, that is something i cant imagine lol. i love the savoury ones like the ainsley harriot but never tasted it sweet. how much sweetner etc do you put into it ? hope u had a good day. i did another success express day today and im stuffed, i still have 2 rocky roads to eat with my evening cappachino, im sure i will make room.

Hi biker babe I admit it's a bit strange but it was nice for a change! I followed instructions on the packet for water etc. and just added sweetner to taste. I tipped it in so wouldn't have a clue how much! Had the rest last night with golden syrup and it was yum. Bu I don't think I could eat it just on it's own, would def need fruit or yogurt with it.
 
Hi evryone, yippee it's Friday!

For breakfast this morning I had a big bowl of sw rice pudding, made with half hea of alpro soya hazelnut milk, sweetner, cinnamon and nutmeg. Not sure when I'll get lunch as have to bring dad to the doctors, go the bank etc. so filling up now. Fruit for afters and a bit pot of coffee which I'm having while posting. Then it'll be out for a walk with the boys. I will try and squeeze in some x trainer tonight as well, problem is I constantly feel shattered at the minute.

I'll probably make meatball pasta bake for tea tonight; it'll fill up all my hungry boys and get plenty of veg in too.

DS1 wants to bake today so will probably make some wee fairy cakes in the afternoon and maybe make a half syn roualde for myself. If I don't make it today I might well make it tomorrow, need to check how much quark I have.

Really trying to cut dow how much I spend on food at the minute, I could spend £100 in tesco or asda and walk back in the next day and spend another £20. SW is great but I feel like if you want to follow it properly, get all the superfree in etc., you do find you need to spend a bit.
 
Friday

Breakfast- rice pudding as above

Had peaches and 2 ryvitta crackers mid morning

Lunch- very quick and easy- smash and baked beans! Jaffa cake 2.5 syns

Dinner- meatball pasta bake- asda mf meatballs, peppers, onions, courgettes, garlic, mushrooms, passata, herbs. Topped with white sauce of quark, cottage cheese, 2 eggs, nutmeg and seasoning. Half a hea of lf cheese on the top.

This was the first time I've made a sw white sauce and it went down well. It was much lighter than the usual bechamel and had a souffle like texture. Certainly everyone enjoyed it so I will make it again. That served 4 so I will just count the cheese as a bit of my hea.

Evening- 3 martini and diet tonic water (7.5 syns), rice crackers (5 syns). Slice of wm bread and dairylea triangle (part heb and hea) and special k chewy bar (heb).

hea- 2 (milk and cheese)
heb- 2 (wm bread 1/2, ryvitta 1/2 and chewy bar)

Saturday

Had a lovely late breakfast this morning of syn free 'scones' baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. With a pot of coffee. Forgot to put the sausages in the oven as well!
Weather is pretty grim today and I don't think we'll be up to much so I might well tackle the back bedroom. I would need to bring a safety harness in with me to make sure I get out again.

I'll update my food diary as the day goes along.
 
Saturday

Breakfast- syn free scones, baked beans, tomato and mushrooms

Had a bowl of museli (HEB) and milk and a banana as I got very shaky before my lunch.

Lunch- noodles and veg, shape 0% yogurt

Half a slice of wm bread (will count as half heb)

Dinner- making big batch of chips and burgers for dinner while watching eurovision- though I had quorn peppered steak but checked the freezer and it's gone!

Made a half syn roulade which is just cooling; got vanilla quark and mixed berries for the middle. SF jelly in the fridge (1/2 syn) and sw hummous for some nibbles.

Had my chips and burger with cheese and jalapenos. Rice crackers (5 syns) and the hummous, 1/2 syn roulade and 2 martinis ( 5 syns). Didnt bother with jelly.

Well my dh has the boys out for a few hours so I am lounging on the couch as not feeling in great shape today. Got a wee snack plate beside me and going to chill and read.

Breakfast- slice of wm bread, spread 1 syn and marmite (1/2 heb), couple of slices of the roulade and coffee (not synning roulade today as synned yesterday).

Lunch- carrot and lentil soup, syn free scones.

Snacks- pineapple, cherry toms, 2 ryvitta and dairylea (part hea), rest of roulade. Pot of tea.

Dinner will be a syn free cottage pie which is cooking away as we speak. Got plenty of veg in it; mushrooms, carots, onions, peas, chopped toms. Proper comfort food!
 
Evening Ria, hope your feeling better by now, just a quick question please, how do you make half syn roulade ? i also see you got vanilla quark, is it flavoured already or did you flavour it yourself. i tried quark last year and wasent impressed but im always ready to give things another go, is there a particular brand you get ? thanks Moira
 
Ugh had too much wine last night and feel rough today! Prob 26 syns for yesterday which isnt great but nevermind. I weighed in this morning at 130lbs so thats half a pound on. I dont think that was fair lol as i have been pretty good this week bu the weight is creeping on too easily with these tablets i am on. Pretty sure the dose is too high and i am underactive. Have to look ar longterm though so hopefully they work! Back at hospital in a month so we shall see.
 
Hungover monday...

Breakfast 2 alices wm bread jam and spread 5 syns. Badly needed the sugar!

Lunch cottage pie leftover from last night (free)

Mid afternoon alpen light 3 syns banana yogurt .5 syns

Dinner am thinking of using the leftover mince and adding beans and chilli to make something similar to bikerbabes taco chips. Make this with sw chips and top with hea of cheese. Mmmmm

Prob have a chewy bar (heb) and maybe a curly wurly with a cuppa later. Updated- didnt bother with the curly wurly had a bath and read my book instead.

Will post a link to the roulade recipe when i get home as cant do much with the phone!

Hi Moira, no it is just plain quark I'm afraid but I add sweetner and vanilla essence to it to make it taste nice. It is an accquired taste but it is also pretty versatile so lends itself to experimenting!

Link to the half syn roulade below- we have hens and ducks so it's a good way to use up the eggs and my dh actually likes this recipe too. Thinking of trying it with options next time.

On the train to work and so tired it feels like my eyes are glued together lol. Yesterday went well which is good as there is nothing like a hangover to make you hungry!

So today, lets aim for another 100%!

Breakfast- as im up early it'll prob be two small breakfasts; fruit (2 syns) and yogurt and ryvitta with dairylea (1.5 syns) marmite and tomato.

Lunch- i have couscous, beetroot,peppers and tomatoes with quorn ham.

Not sure whats for dinner yet- prob rice or pasta as no potatoes left! Im sure i will get inspiration at some stage!

Well so far today, food has been as above.

Had an apple and a yogurt 0.5 syns and I synned the fruit this morning as it was tinned (2 syns for two pineapple rings?).

Dinner was delicious and made from scraps in the fridge- cheese and leek risotto. I made this with leeks, onion, garlic, basmati rice, stock, mustard powder and stirred in a hea of cheese at the end. Topped with dry fired cherry tomatoes in garlic. So nice and goes to show you can make something with nothing.

Finished the day with jam and toast heb plus 5 syns

Morning all! So 2 days at 100% im pleased with that. Dinner at mums 2nite though so that might be an end to my good streak. I have been under syn wise the past two days so a wee bit over wont hurt. Just have to tey and limit the damage.

Breakfast Ryvitta and 1 triangle of dairylea with cherry toms.

Banana.

Lunch either lf supernoodles and baked beans.

Mixed berries and yogurt.


Dinner- quorn cottage pie (2.5) jacket potato, sweetcorn and peas.

Fairy cake (7 syns)


Had quorn ham rolls ups with my other two dairylea triangles.


Need to do some shopping and get some food in but trying to cut down so will have to make do.

Well today has been going to plan so far. I am determined to restrain myself at mums tonight- just hope dinner isnt something too bad like pie and chips! I will try and diplomatically pass on dessert if its offered but as i havent used any syns today and have been under mon and tues i will hopefully still be on track for the week.

Dinner- was quorn cottage pie 2.5 syns, jacket potato, peas and sweetcorn. Passed up on the dessert so having a fairy cake now 7 syns?? - I had got up this morning and my husband had baked two big boxes full!

Still got a heb left too.
 
Woo hoo I've had 3 days at 100% so far this week and I am pleased with that! Let's see if I can keep it going. Had a cheeky mid-week weigh in which showed me 1lb down so I would be chuffed with that. Am still completely knackered but trying to cut back on coffee so plenty of green tea today.

Breakfast- sw rice pudding with a shape rhubarb yogurt 0.5 syns and mixed berries.

Banana

Lunch will be pasta n sauce 0.5 syns and green beans.

Small piecw of soda bread and scrape of spread and jam 3 syns and heb. Tweak! Lol.

Skinny sf hazelnut latte hea and choc coin 5 syns. I always have these in starbucks as they are low syns and give me a choc hit. My other fave is the salted pecan squares.... mmm. But 248 ayns for a teeny tiny square.

Dinner was a delicious aubergine and chickpea curry with peppers courgettea and a tin of mushy peas! Free plus 1 syn for the rice.

Had a handful of peanuts heb and a few raisins and choc buttons 5 syns.

Wil be out tonight so might save my other hea for a skinny latte in starbucks. Not sure about dinner, hoping to get some inspiration when I'm doing the shopping. Hoping to get stockd up on free quorn sausages in Sainburys!
