Zone 3: Mission #2 Tuesday

We are headed into the bathroom. Let's grab some general purpose cleaner or vindegar or whatever you like to use and shine
those counter tops and bathroom sinks! Clear everything off the counter top and wipe them from side to side and top to bottom. Then use a little elbow grease and scrub your sink, then spritz the counter top and sink with a little Windex to make it shine.

5 Minute Rescue for the Home Office area - Set a timer and spend 5 minutes: tossing the trash and putting things away. No Home office area? Choose another room!

I need to get back on this. With another baby on the way I need to have my routines back in place to allow for new routines to take over once baby is here.

As per usual my living room isn't too bad but the main bedroom & kitchen need decluttered. All the other rooms are OK they just need cleaned again.

I have been keeping on top of the dishes & doing laundry each day but the pile doesn't seem to get smaller. I've still loads to put away.

Today I shall set myself the challenge of cleaning the kids rooms.....

Mel, shout at me if this hasn't been done before 7pm (kids bedtime)!

Sent from ARCHOS tablet :)

Cleaned the family bath.
Almost finished unpacking.
Dishes done.
Laundry worked on.
Some decluttering.

Well go me!
I've cleaned the kids rooms & sorted their wardrobes (toys & clothes) -that includes vacuuming & dusting. I've cleared my floor, vacuumed behind my drawers, dusted, cleared off two sets of drawer tops, put all the kids clothes away....

I need to put my clothes away then bring all the other clean clothes upstairs to put them all away. First its lunch time as me & the kids are hungry.

Good progress today :)

All the clothes are now away & some are in the donation bag. There is a wash in the dryer, one in the washer & a big pile to d but I can put those away as they are done.

Feeling happy to see the three bedrooms all clean & tidy.

My OH has clothes to sort & put away & he needs to de-clutter his side of the bedroom but apart from that I'm happy.

I'm starting to feel very tired & sore so I know I should rest. I really want to get the main bathroom done though as well as the landing as that will complete upstairs.....decisions :)

Amazing day, H.

I grocery shopped, checked mail on base, put groceries away, cooked dinner and cleared up.

Lots to do tomorrow.

Thanks, I'm feeling it now though -ouch!

After dinner I loaded the dishwasher & put it on, put laundry in the dryer & another load in the wash. The kids are in bed although I can hear J moving around. K can be much quieter when she's up to mischief. I'm lying in my bed in the dark cause I feel tired, sore & suffering from chocolate consumption this morning.

Good day overall though :)

Zone 3: Mission #3 Wednesday

For the Bathroom: Today we are going to Shine our toilets! You may have to bring out the heavy guns for this one. Let's clean around the backside, front and the sides of our toilets. Then wipe down all the surfaces.

5 Minute Room Rescue for the entrance/foyer area to get rid of the hotspots. The junk mail, newspapers, shoes, jackets etc, that seem to get stuck in a holding pattern when you set them down and plan to get back to them. It is amazing how inviting the entrance area can be when there is not a bunch of STUFF everywhere. Grab a trash/recycling bag first and toss what can be tossed. Then grab the jackets and shoes and deliver them to their homes. I promise this makes a huge difference!

[Going to go unload dishwasher, toss laundry in dryer, hang up stuff that air dries, put suitcases back in garage and elsewhere... then move on from there.]. Still need to put the suitcases away. Got sidetrack by a friend's visit and some correspondence.

Zone 3: Mission #4 Thursday

Today we are going to shine our tubs or showers! We have talked about shining our sinks since you started and we want you take 5 or 10 minutes to shine that tub or shower. Do not get obsessed with the tub being perfect. Just scrub the tub with whatever works. There is no perfect tub/shower cleaner or perfect way to do this. Shampoo on a wash cloth will work! Whatever or however you choose, anything is better then nothing, then spritz it with a little Windex and dry it with a towel like you shine your sink.

5 Minute Rescue for the Kid's room(s) - Set a timer and spend 5 minutes: tossing the trash and putting things away. No Kids? Choose another room!

Lol, thank you :)

I have swept all downstairs including under the sofas etc. Kitchen has been steam mopped, counters cleaned etc. Dusted living room.....basically the house is now clean top to bottom & clutter free. I managed to get C to move some of his clutter. His clothes need put away but I'll probably end up doing it for a quiet life.

My pregnancy Pilates DVD arrived so I may have a look at that tonight to see what its like.

Wow! You've done more in a day than I've done all week.

Didn't get looking at the DVD. I prefer to clean a clean house, lol. I like to get all the tidying done in one go (or in this case over two days) so its easier to clean.

Today I need to put the last of the clean laundry away & check the house is still clean. For those that don't know I have two kids (4&2) & my big child, lol -my partner who like to mess my house up :)

The week at a Glance: April 21 - 25, 2013

Zone 4: Mission #1 Monday

Ahhhh the Master Bedroom!! This is the one room that seems to get things tossed into it when you can't find any other place to put something away.

Your mission for today is to set your timer for 15 minutes and gather up some things that just don't belong in your bedroom. Spend 5 minutes gathering and 10 minutes on a delivery mission to either put things away or toss them in the trash!!

No obsessing or criticizing yourself as to why these things are there, just focus on getting them OUT!!!
*********************************************
Zone 4: Mission #2 Tuesday

Today is the day to attack the clothes pile. Now you all know what I am talking about. This pile is either on a chair, on top of the hamper, dresser or at the foot of your bed. Set your timer for 15 minutes and grab some hangers or start folding. While you are doing this do not hang up or fold something that you hate! This is the time to let it go!! If you do not love it, send it right out the door!
**********************************************
Zone 4: Mission #3 Wednesday

It is Anti-Procrastination Day and we are going to clean off the night stands!! Get the tissues, cups and stuff that has piled up; toss and put away. Then grab a feather duster or dust rag and dust the surfaces. Place a pretty candle or picture there. Something that is new to that spot that you love to see.

Waking up and not seeing a pile of things on the nightstand and a pile of clothes will make your morning a little brighter!

PS : If you have some extra pretty, nice sheets for your bed, make sure they are washed and ready for Friday's mission. This means pillow cases and blankets also.
************************************************
Zone 4: Mission #4 Thursday

Yesterday we worked on the nightstands and today we are going after the dressers! Get rid of anything that is not necessary! Instead of a pile up of cosmetics, place them in a Ziploc bag and then store them in a drawer when not in use. For perfumes and colognes, toss what you no longer use and place your favorites on a pretty tray, plate or mirror. Keep this space neat and clutter free, you will love to wake up to the flat surfaces in your decluttered bedroom.
***************************************************
Zone 4: Mission #5 Friday

Today is the day to remake your bed. This may take a little longer than usual but so well worth it. Strip your bed and remake it. Get someone to help you flip the mattress, if you can't, then try just to turn it around. If you have some fabric spray that you like, spray your mattress and pillows. Then place those crisp freshly washed sheets and blanket on. Take extra care when making the bed. Really tuck those corners in and fluff the pillows. An extra tip is to toss your pillow in the dryer for added freshness and fluff. Use your bedspread or comforter and make up the rest of the bed. Take your time and know how much you will enjoy getting into your bed tonight and how wonderful it will feel.

Maybe tonight you will go to bed a little earlier or stay in bed a little longer tomorrow morning just taking some time to enjoy something so simple yet rewarding.
