Whats all this cheese talk?.............all I had was one measly slice.......hahaa.

Well yesterday was a bit weird, after the proposal and acceptance, and the vodka, we had a chinese. I had lettuce wraps, gorgeous, so not too fattening.

Food today

Breakfast, 2 slices of cheese on toast with two rashers of bacon.

Lunch, Soup and ryvita.

Dinner, Minced beef with fat free roast potatoes.

4 vodkas tonight.

Lettuce wraps?!

Did you get down on one knee Mary?!! Hehe :giggle: was it like a proper proposal or just said in conversation etc spill the beans I am nosy!! Lol x

Lettuce leaves, but you put meat and things in the middle, and wrap it around like a sandwich....its lush, they are awesome lol.

Well what happened Tanya was that we were discussing our Silver Wedding Anniversay, and before my Dad died, he gave me £50 and said that he wouldn't be here to see our Silver Anniversary, so he wanted to give us our gift while he could.

Even though the money was spent at the time, we always said that we would buy something special for our Anniversay, which will be Sept 14th 2013 from Dad and Mum. Well last night we decided to buy a nice wooden bench, but I will have a plaque on it, engraved 'Happy 25th Wedding Anniversay - Love Mum and Dad'

Well one thing led to another, and we were on a shoe string budget at the time, so there were no pics, no cake etc, so I thought, I want to do it properly and have everything, so I DID get down on one knee and ask Phill.......will you marry me AGAIN.

He said yes........and that was a lovely feeling.

I dunno if we have both gone off the idea a little today though - hellova lot of expense ;)

Will keep you updated.

Awwww - be a shame not to do it now really  ... I understand what you mean about the expense though when it could go into the Turkey fund? Is that what you're thinking?
You're just an old romantic. John asked me a while back if I'd like to renew our vows - it was coming up to 15 years last December - I just said 'what for'? :giggle: - I may be horrible but I just don't see the point in our case. However for you to have what you missed out on last time and as it's a silver wedding ... ? xx

Awww too cute!! Did he expect it or was it totally out of the blue?

Love the bench idea :D xx

It would be nice, but last night after the proposal, we were speaking to our friend in New Zealand, who we have never met. He is the one who lost his Wife last Sept. Well we called him because we were worried because of the earthquake in Christchurch - turns out he is a 5 hour drive from there, so now we are thinking about having a trip to NZ instead of the 'renewal of the vows'. The jury is out at the moment.

Thanks Tanya - at least I can use it daily in the nice weather and can always see it every day.

Ooooo that'd be nice! :) xx

Ooooh! Go for the holiday!!! Hahaha xx

Ah that's really sweet Mary, bit of a dilemma though, wedding vows or NZ? Mmm I love NZ!

Ah Mary, what a lovely story about your Dad giving you the present. God bless him. One way or another, he has given you a lovely present that has brought yourself an Phil even closer. How lovely.
NZ is a lovely dilemma for you.
Ponder on, girl. The answer will come to you soon.

CONGRATULATIONS AND JUBILATIONS...

I think u should go to New Zealand and renew vows on a mountain top there ... or as you bask in a hot spring! Also, 'confide' in friend/familys about how you feel you missed out on mega celebrations first time round! Lay it on thick - and hopefully they'll organise a hooly party to celebrate once you return from your 'honeymoon'... RESULT

The bench is a lovely idea and the renewal of vows.

It will be 10 years for us next year and hubby asked if I would like to renew our vows but I don't see any reason to really. Very happy with things as they are and think our original ones were great and don't need to renew them.

Glad your friend in NZ is OK. Awful thing to happen.

Ooooooooh yeah! What a brilliant idea!!! Go to NZ and have the holiday and get the kids to pay for a massive party but call it a 'wedding reception' but still get a lovely dress & cake done!!! :D xx

That is sooo loverly!!! I definitely agree with the others about the NZ idea. Will make it even more special x

Thanks girls, I think its the NZ trip rather than the expense of the Renewal of the vows now.......maybe one day eh!

Food hasnt been great over the last few days, I have had my 11 year old Granson up and its just been a joy to be with him, so we have eaten rather different meals than usual.

We are going to Nottingham this Friday until Sunday to see my youngest Son, its been a few months since we last seen him, so looking forward to seeing Mums boy again!

Sounds fantastic.......you need a holiday ticker!
