Dinkie Dawnies Dubious Diary of Downsizing, Deflation, and Debauchery

Evening all x

I'm feeling very proud of myself today!

When the alarm went off just after 6am  I jumped out of bed all excited and got straight into my nice new swimming cossy! (no pics Steve! :nono:) Luckily I remembered to put my bra and knickers in my swimming bag otherwise there may have been a few uncomfortable moments at work

I met Sarah at the pool and within 5 minutes she had me stripped off and straight in before I had the chance to back out! And so I then spent the next 40 minutes slowly working my way up and down the pool, in a style loosely described as breast stroke. And before you say anything...yes I do see the irony thank you!

Of course I did see Sarah (who swims like a fish!) every now and again as she went flying past me, doing 2 lengths to my 1, and offering words of encouragement as she went by :D And so I ended up doing 24 lengths, which I thought was pretty ok for a first swim in 2 decades, and Streaking Sarah (not that sort of streaking Steve ) did a really impressive 41

I have to admit my legs and arms felt like lead when I got out, but it soon wore off in the showers, and by the time we'd dressed and got a cuppa in our hands I was feeling absolutely bloody fantastic! And to be honest that feeling stayed with me for the rest of the day.

But then I went into work and realised I'd left my lunch at home :d'oh: Obviously concentrating too much on remembering my underwear! Luckily the other Dawn in the office was going into town so I asked her to pick me up some fruit to see me through the day :greenapple:

Work was busy in fits and starts but overall not too bad, and Sarah and I did manage to sneak a quick coffee break in :coffee:

I'm off to make a drink and get my fibre plus bar, and then settle down to watch Mrs Browns Boys. See you later xxx

Exercise - 24 lengths swimming :happy096:

Yep - it's 25m lengths.
And there's no way you could see 600m in that pool. Sometimes we struggle to see the end!

Well, maybe if you had your eyes as wide open as that, you could.
Though you'd need goggles too.

Bit late hitting the freds today - been out all day.

Sarah - Brilliant post.
I think you have managed to express (fairly) succinctly what we all knew and were trying to say and somehow just couldn't manage the words.
Definitely nnnn iiiii cccc eeee - or can you accept NEARLY nice?

Dawnie - well done in the pool chica. I expect to hear that you are flying up and down the pool within the month - yes I do mean flying, butterflying!
That is THE MOST FANTASTIC exercise for your area that is dwindling - much better than breastroke. Why do you think I've still managed to hang onto my assets? 6 years competitive butterflying did the job!

Well done dawn on your swim, very impressive.
Sarah you always seem to write a very sensible side to a topic, your post was so correct and I wish I could write my thoughts as clear and concise, thanks for sharing :)

Can we have a new group? - Swimming World?:D

Lynica are you having a laugh? - I must be the exception to the rule, I forgot how to ride, I wobble all over the place and I've got an awfully sore "undercarriage" which feels badly bruised!

I should have went swimming;)

Sorry about that, you'll have to get some of those padded shorts ;-) I'm sure your next ride will be better, but wait till all this frost goes or you'll be skating not riding he he, take care x

Sensible? Me?

Please will somebody check Lynica's temperature - I think she may be brewing a fever...

But: Bum.
I haven't helped my reputation, yet again, have I?

Morning Bev x

I've never attempted butterfly stroke actually. When I'm a bit more confident I'll probably have a go at front crawl, but tbh I'm just pleased I managed to still swim at all! I'm feeling a bit stiff round my neck and shoulders today but nothing too bad x

Yup! Can't wait Sarah! Then do you want to go Friday too? I'm not working but if you're going I'll come with you.

And coffee is definitely on today...I'll text u in a minute when I know more on time x

Yerse. Kindly leave the cliff.
But well done on keeping the posts up: you'll definitely be over the 200 mark after today, and heading for the 250...

Afternoon all x

Just thought I'd post a pic of my Yummy dinner, which I wudve had yesterday if I hadn't forgotton it!

Spag bol (no Spag) on a bed of fresh spinach and topped with a hexA of half fat cheese...lovely!

Dawnie - my butterfly comment was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek! :D
I've swum all my life - apparently Mum took me to the pool before I could walk and I swam on session 2!!!!
It took me 2 years to learn to do butterfly properly and even with my natural floating ability I used to sink if I got it mildly wrong. Grrr

Stick to the breast stroke chica, it is actually very good for toning the pecs which should make your assets stand out more!

Have a lovely day chica .

PS yesterday's lunch looked scrummy. Did is get eaten or chucked away?

Haha! I had it today Bev! I forgot the bol yesterday but remembered it for today! X
