Wow! Evening ladies x
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on my new tattoo!! :happy036::happy036::happy036:
It's been quite a day lol!
This morning Gwyn went to the dentist while I pottered about, and then we went down to a tattoo place in town which had been recommended by several people
Northampton Tattoo Club. It's only a tiny place with a waiting room, tattoo room and kitchen, and we were greeted by a lovely young lad called James. I chatted to him about some of the ideas I had, and showed him the pictures, and he got a big book out for me to look at. The tattoo room is open and so I could see this chap standing there having a cross tattoo done on his arm. James went through to talk to the tattooist about me, and when I saw the tattooist, Gareth, I was a bit nervous as he looked a bit fierce! But he was really lovely, and explained he designs lots of tattoos, and that he'd draw one for me using my ideas. And suddenly I found myself thinking I could trust him to do a good job...and booked in for 4pm!
So we came home and had some lunch and then I had to go to see the hygienist at the dentists :fear: I'm not a very good patient when it comes to visiting the dentist, but I do always go. And it was quite handy that I was getting tattooed straight afterwards as I was more worried about that than the dentist!
I got to the shop about 15 minutes early, armed with my bottle of water and hi fi bar as instructed by Gareth in case I felt a bit faint :faint2: James asked me to sit down and try to relax lol! Then Gareth called me through and showed me the drawing that he'd done for me, and I loved it straight away! So he positioned it on my back and asked me to check I was happy with it. We also went through all the colours I wanted him to use. And then I had to straddle a tattoo chair backwards and Gareth pumped it up fairly high, and tucked my jumper in my bra strap. Then it was time to start, and he warned me that the outline was probably the most painful part.
He was right! It was a bit of a shock to start off with, and after 5 minutes I did wonder if I could stand one and a half hours of it, but I gradually got used to it. Gareth chatted to me all the time, and he was such a lovely gentle guy! Just goes to show you how we should
never judge anyone by their appearance :ashamed0005:
Quite a few customers came in and out and they were all really pleased with the work they'd had done there. It was a bit surreal being perched on that chair with people popping in but it actually made me relax a little more as my mind was taken off the tattooing! And soon I was so used to it, it really didn't bother me at all. And Gareth said I'd done brilliantly for my first one!
Anyway, after an hour and a half it was all done, and when I looked it the mirror I was totally thrilled with it! I opted to have it on the side of my back, and the design is such that I can add to it without any problems. I was concerned about handling the pain but it wasn't too bad, and I think I could've managed another hour but that would've been enough for me! So I may well bring the flowers across my lower back at some point, but tbh I need to see what this looks like when it's healed, but I totally LOVE it!!! :bliss: I'll put another pic on now as I think the earlier pics make it look bigger than it really is. And then when the bruising has gone down I'll put another one on x
And when I came out, I was met by lovely Sarah who'd walked up to meet me, and we went to my local pub for a meal. It was great to chat away from the hospital for once, and I enjoyed her company as always. I may have embarrassed her slightly when I said we're going to Ann Summers next week
Anyway, not going to post my food as it may well have been ever so slightly off plan, but not much eh Sarah?! And yes, I'm stuffed!!!
Time to visit some diaries!
