I lick but had a friend in school who found this really repulsive and also couldn't eat the 'congealed' (her words) bit around the edge of the pot. She used to pour it out into a bowl to eat without scraping the rest out. What a waste!

On a separate note relating to this, i was in the little cafe/snack area at the National Railway Museum in York a year or two back, when a little girl sitting at an adjacent table with her mum picked up her yoghurt, opened it bu peeling back the foil lid and without pausing began licking the inner-lid.

Her horrified mother chastised her saying "We don't do that, Rebecca"or whatever her name was. It was clear little Rebecca did it all the time at home, but couldn't be seen doing it in public lol.
