Donna's fighting depression and weight diary!

So I am back 2lbs heavier - Monday went out of the window so only a 6 day week to shift those 2lbs. The weekend celebrations have left me exhausted am basically on the sofa unable to move - throat is so sore (although I suspect this wasn't helped by the over-use of flash, cilit blang, bleach, jif etc). Had to have my contraceptive implant replaced this morning - really flippin hurt - arm badly bruised - not allowed to lift anything, hoover or exercise for 24 hours - so had to cancel my toning table session this evening...right off to read your diaries xxx

A shame about your arm - poor you! Take the day to rest - sounds like you need it anyway. There is always the rest of the week for hoovering. Shame about the toning tables - but no point taking risks. Take care x.

Glad you enjoyed your w/end. Hope the sore throat gets better soon but I think you should rest and take care of yourself a bit tonight after the implant thing.

Hope the Vits kick in for you as quickly as they did for me I felt better within a week and much better after 2 weeks and it's such a small price/inconvenience to have to take it for a major difference and I got no sideeffects unlike the happy pills from the quack. :D

HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY .... finally did the Leslie Sansone 1 mile walk .... really easy and really enjoyable - am planning on starting every day donig this from tomorrow morning...kick my **** if I don't!
Walking - Part 1: Start Quick & Easy - YouTube
its a 15 min workout (including your own cool down) - set at 4mph - works out on mfp at 141 cals (low aerobic workout or brisk 4.0 mph walk)

Finally starting to feel human again Purple Patsy - throat is so dry, hate having annoying cough! My arm is now black and blue with my new implant - don't think the GP that did it today had much practice lol she told me afterwards that the implant doctor was on annual leave - normally it takes 3-4 mins, it took her 20 - so much fiddling about
Yay you - well done!!!
Thanks you - have you done it lass321?

I'll join you on a miles walk tomorrow :):)

have a lovely evening and do take some rest your meals look lovely

Hi all, I have done loads of diet - Slimming Magazine (Calorie Counting), Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Slimming World...I was most successful on Calorie Counting and Weight Watchers, I have decided to try Calorie Counting and I feel for the first time since I did joined Slimming Magazine Clubs 20 years ago that I am in control (lets hope it lasts).

I am also battling depression, I was diagnosed with SAD last year and as yet have not found the correct medication to keep my depression controlled enough for me to lead a normal life but after another increase in dosage I am finally starting to feel better albeit very anxious...enough!

So I have 2 children, daughter (12) and son (3), we live in Essex, I have really let my daughter down and let her gain weight, so I have all three of us me, husband and daughter on healthy diet

I have previously used Minimins when i followed Slimming World and loved the support and encouragement I received.

I also bought some Slimfast that were being sold very cheaply on Approved Foods before I decided to calorie count - so you might see them pop up from time to time as a meal (esp breakfast which I have problems with cos I find it really hard to eat in the morning)

I also intend to up my water intake - have gone from 0 glasses to 6 glasses/mugs in 3 days, hope to hit 8 from today

And increase to exercise!

Hey Hun

I'm sorry to hear you also suffer with depression.
I was diagnosed back in Aug 2011 and I have struggled to keep it under control at times.
Almost thought id lost my job recently because of it :(
But luckily I won my case at work.
Did you find you gained quite abit of weight when you first started on the anti depressants?
I've gained bed nearly 2 stone in that time and really struggling to get it off so contemplating trying a new diet plan after my Mexico holiday.

Looking at your diary you've been doing great Hun.
Keep up the good work and keep in touch.
Love Stacey xxx

Hi Stacey, sorry i didnt realise you suffered with depression - can't believe you nearly lost your job over it - there is an Equal Opps Law that should protect you i.e. you can't be dismissed because of depression - I only found this out recently when I had an appointment with the Occ Health at work - I am covered and as your depression is ongoing you should be too

I can't answer on the weight front - I gain weight all the time because i am a greedy piggy with no limitations - sometimes I eat until I can't breathe lol!

With this latest bout i was diagnosed with Seasonal Affected Disorder (SAD) I was literally carrying bars (i mean up to 10) in my handbag and each time I hit a wall I would eat them (this was 2-5 times a day) so since I was diagnosed and my meds were finally sorted did I stop craving sweet foods, weight gain and depression do go hand in hand - along with every other nasty side effect. You are looking amazing and your weight loss is inspirational - just don't be like me and wait until its too late to see gp when you have a "depressed episode" this is how I have gotten so low, big hugs xxx

Hey hun
i did loads of research while I was off work and fought my case and I won it. I didn't realise until I looked it up that its actually classed as a disability etc. It's all over with now though but just got to concentrate on getting better. My anti depressants help but some days I feel low for no reason at all so that's something I'm just trying to overcome.

my weight loss hasn't been good lately, I'm just not in the right mind but after holiday I will try to change that.
So how you been getting on lately?xxxx
