I'll stick to knitting and bouncing on my ball lol. No sex thank you! And definitely no raspberry leaf tea, have been told it tastes bloody awful and given that there's no evidence that it works I'm not even going there

Apparently you can have raspberry leaf capsules from holland and Barrett's. They were the ones some people at antenatal class were taking. Not sure whether to take them or not.
Yeah I'm not the best at relaxing either but really need to learn. I know stressing and getting upset is going to help the early stages of labour but it's one thing knowing and another thug doing. Knitting is good distraction so keep it up I say! As for sex, well the girl who went into labour from
Our NCT group is blaming sex for it, but don't think Paul would come near me. It eeks him out knowing his baby is inside, so I'll just have to stick with pineapple and other old wives tales!

So other than sex (Tom just won't play ball!!), pineapple, hot curries, bouncing on the ball and nipple stimulation what other old wives tales are there? I've heard a few people say nipple stimulation is one of the best but mine KILL so I don't know if I could stand it. Any other tips ladies?

It sounds to me it's relaxing so run a bath, light some candles, put some music on and chill out for an hour or so!

With the pineapple you need to eat some of the core too because that's where the enzyme is.

I should be ok then, I spend a good two hours in the bath! Although candles are a no no. We've got white walls and I once lit about 30 tea lights. When I blew them out all the smoke stuck to the steam on the walls and left dirty tracks down them. Following a repaint I banned candles in the bathroom. I light them a lot in the living room though so I might close the blinds, light some and put the Christmas tree lights on then just chill on the sofa.

Colin's exactly the same - no sex here either! He's been weirded out by it for months now, plus I'm not sure my hips could take it lol!
I got told beetroot by a friend? That's probably a load of old cobblers too though! And the crazy midwife was on about walking up the stairs sideways or something? I think I'd zoned out by that point tho so can't remember...

I've got a big kitchen so the floor scrubbing can be arranged (without Tom knowing as he'll tell me off!!).

Where do you get your candle from that smells like angel perfume? I would be in heaven if they did an alien one that smell is to die for, I'm sitting here sniffing my cardi now, I bet everyone at work is thinking I've gone mad lol

She was on about using yoga as well to get baby into a good position and at that point Colin piped up with 'as you can see, my wife's on crutches - is there anything she can do?'. Could have died of embarrassment, bless him for thinking of me though. Answer? Other than bouncing on the ball - no apparently

They're actually crystals that you burn over a tea light instead of oil. We get them from our local garden centre but you can get them online. They're called simmering crystals or something and the Angel one is called Angel Wings.
I got an Alien sample when I got my newest bottle of Angel and I loved it so think I'll get that one next

Thank you I'll keep an eye out online for them, saying that though can we burn them with a baby in the house? I've always got incense burning but I'm guessing the smell and smoke might be too much for a baby!
alien is beautiful it's the only perfume I know that sticks around all day, on my wedding day, I put it on at 9am and even though it was a hot and sweaty June day I could still smell it in the evening! X

I've thought that. I usually burn them or candles in the living room, hallway, kitchen and landing. So I'm thinking maybe just in the hallway and kitchen where baby won't be spending any time?
Angel always sticks around on me for ages. And Jean Paul Gaultier but it makes my dad sick when he smells it so I stopped buying it before I left home 9 years ago! X

I used to buy Angel but went off it after years of wearing it. I've never tried Alien though? Might be a new one for me... My current favourite is Flowerbomb! Absolutely lovely - definitely worth a try if you've not smelled it before
Ooh who does that? I love Lady Million and Ultra Violet too but Angel always reminds me of Tom so I tend to go for that more than anything.

Viktor and Rolf - it smells a bit like Lush American Cream conditioner to me and I adore that smell! You can get it in Debenhams and the like
The only other ones I wear are Lush perfumes - Vanillary being my favourite as I wore it on my wedding day and Black Phoenix Alchemy oils (they're pure perfume oils that you have to import from the US). There's one called Rose Red which is the most perfect rose scent. Best thing about it is you can use it in the bath or in a burner too as it's just the oil with no alcohol. I have a few different scents but had to stop buying them when pennies got tight
