eee look another food diary!

Well done on the STS ;-)

I never think its a bad thing to maintain a bit - you've kept the weight off, and when you're ready to give it another push your body will probably be ready to shift a bit more.

The smell of pork is torturing me!!

Happy Friday
xx

Good result with a sts, it does sound like cal counting might suit you better maybe worth trying for a week or 2? I think mentally its good to find a plan that suits as then you don't have any of that guilt of being off plan - even if its something that isn't that high in cals but uses a bazillion syns on sw. X

Thanks ladies, I do think if I weigh myself tomorrow it might have dropped as I'm feeling pretty slim today. Probably as I haven't really eaten a proper meal yet tho! I did check on the scales at the dr this morning on my way to placement and it said 13st4 with clothes on. So maybe it'll be lower tomorrow!

I think I might Laura! I think it might suit me better than SW for the next few months as I'm at Uni or placement every day so finding SW foods and being organised are going to be difficult. Might give me a little more freedom really! Xx

I feel mega bloated this morning, I didn't drink anywhere near as much water as I usually do yesterday so that's probably it! Gonna do red or EE today not sure what we're doing yet, going have to a shower and take the puppy out.

SATURDAY (not sure plan)

Breakfast : warburton thin (hexB tweak) bacon, egg and mushroom, 15g low low cheese spread.

Lunch : Gammon, SW coleslaw, SW potato salad, nice side salad, sweetcorn.

Dinner : pork fillet with mustard sauce, scalloped potatoes, lots of veg (babycorn, mangetout, sugar snap peas)

Haha! Eee Jen I just scrolled through like 100 pages on the other thread to find it, would have been quicker to just type it out again I think!!!

Coat looks nice :) good purchase!

Here's the recipe

Its the Nov/dec one, I'll write it out for..

serves 4, 25mins to prepare plus 2 hours freezing time (I don't think u should freeze this.. I reckon would be better if you can leave it to set all day, was a bit weird half frozen!)

50g dark choc, broken up
3 eggs, separated
4tbsp sweetner
2tbsp baileys
200g FF fromage frais
1tsp vanilla extract
4 dr oetker giant stars (you don't have to use these, but they were good, save half syn if you don't)

1. melt the choc in a bain marie, or micro wave, remove from heat and allow to cool a little
2. Whisk egg yolks and 2tbsp sweetner and baileys in a large bowl until smooth, pour in choc and whisk to combine well.
3. in a large clean bowl beat egg whites with a hand whisk on medium until they go stiff, then fold into the choc mix with a metal spoon.
4. put FF fromage frais, remaining sweetner & vanilla into a bowl and mix well, spoon into 4 desert glasses, then top with choc mix, cover and leave to set (fridge all day or freezer for 2 hours-ish)
5. to serve put a dollop on FF on and a choc star.

... You'll never just guess what the boys asked me, I gave them some walkers French frie crisps and they asked me how many SYNS were in a packet! Hahah! Funny kids!

Xx

What's the suns for this one please lovely? Xx

I usually do a really simple one but it's so tasty! Just fry 2 onions (currys need lots of onion to taste right) in fry light or 1/2 tsp oil is better. Add tbsp madras powder, 1tbsp curry powder (whichever you prefer I use medium) 1tsp garam masala and a little bit of cinnamon. And fry the onions with the spice for like 5 mins. Add the chicken for another 5 so it's well Coated and colouring. Add squash (if u have) then add 1 tin chopped tomato, a chicken stock cube and fill the tin with boiled water and add that, chop the spinach and add that too then leave to cook for about an hour or as long as u have as it taste best cooked longer. It's really simple and really tasty! For rice if you're having fry off cardamom pods, cloves, turmeric, cumin, coriander (ground) salt and pepper, nutmeg, just a bit of each, add the rice so it's well coated and fry for a min. Then add enough water to cover it by about 1cm, cover turn the heat as low as poss and leave for about 10-15 mins for white rice and 40 mins for brown. Add some chopped veg or chickpeas (if ur cooking brown rice add a chicken stock cube too) and that's it, proper tasty curry night! Xx

Knew is seen this, but just scrolled loads to find it! Now written down! Maybe dinner tonight :) x

I'd bought some light coconut milk though.. do you think some of that would work instead of the extra liquid? X

LOTS & LOTS & LOTS I suspect ............

Yes, I think you might be right...!! Guessing about 5.5 per portion.. but much better than the very un-sw friendly Baileys cheesecake I ate yesterday!!

It's 5 SYNS and serves 4, it's totally worth it!

Hmm I wouldn't really put the coconut milk with that curry, I'd save it for more of an Asian curry.

Sorry! Haven't been on here since Friday properly as I was naughty yesterday, so so naughty!! Burger at the dog pub (no booze tho!) then a pizza for dinner and dan made some AMAZING carrot cake this weekend. Weekends are the worst!! I'm starting to think I might just stick as I am for the minute, just maintain and get the last off when I'm truly motivated as I'm really not at the mo, I've lost nearly 3 stone and so far since pretty much October (apart from my 9lb Xmas gain.. Which is now off!) I'm just sick of meal planning etc. ESP when I'm going to have such a lot of work to do at Uni, I know the plans inside out so pretty much know exactly how to maintain and how I need to balance. So should be ok for a few months or even weeks but I literally am going to be so busy every day all over the place I just don't want any food guilt for grabbing something on the go when I'm cal aware anyway. We'll see. Once Uni is out the way (may) then Ill have so much free time for exercise and diet and can get back to it properly xx

Could quite happily eat a Baileys cheescake!!!

According to my old book (2012 vintage) the chocolate will be 14 syns and 1 large measure of baileys is about 5 or 6 syns so total of 20.
So 5 syns is about right - but that doesn't include the stars!

It came from a SW mag, so I just went off what they said, just had a check and it says 5. Nov/dec mag xx

PS - If you like cheesecake then have a look at my recipe here!
http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/228822-mandarin-cheesecake.html
It is a classic cold cheesecake modified to use the 1/2 syn roulade and it works well! (link to that also in the recipe).
It is fabulous for a dinner party and only ½ HexA and less than 1 syn per portion!
The cottage cheese is free, the Philly your HexA and the roulade id minimal!

ENJOY!

Ooh, ok, might find an Asian option.. I really fancy trying tbd coconut milk!

Chick, that sounds fair enough, you've totally don't amazingly already, and the rest you can focus on getting off when you're ready. I don't think you'll have any problems maintaining, and as you say, you really do need a bit of time for planning if you're losing.
Xx

I love cocnut milk in curry. I got a fab once from Saturday Kitchen - their Christmas special a couple of years ago where they showed loads of ways to use up leftover turkey. Atul Kochhar gave a quick and easy recipe that had coconut milk in and it was delicious. Can't find the bleddy recipe though now!

Mm, sounds delish! Well, I've found a HughFW recipe with chicken and coconut milk- twarked or tweaked even, and posted on my food diary. It's in the oven so will let you know how it comes out :)

Ok food today, been a bit mixed but all my meals have been SW. (Kinda)

Breakfast : 1 slice leftover pizza, 1 slice bread with low low cheese spread and a WW sausage

Lunch : meatballs (homemade SYN free) tomato based sauce and brown spaghetti, some of dans lovely carrot cake

Dinner : pork fillet in sherry sauce, roast SW potatoes, babycorn, mangetout, sugar snap peas

Definitely only kinda for these 2 ! :8855:

Haha! Exactly... So kinda there, kinda not.. Still better choices than it could be.

I'm feeling really meh at the minute, the kids are being little twerps, dans annoying me, think I'm probably just internally panicking about the next few months. Feeling very very emotional and had a little cry earlier. I really don't know what to do, the older my kids are getting the more I don't want any more, but Dan does so badly. I know it'll be a break up type situation when I finally come out and say its not something I want, so I guess that might be stressing me out too. Ah life's tricky at times isn't it! X

Ah love *hugs* sw isn't ideal for busy lifestyles and I reckon with watching cals during the week and being a bit naughty at weekends you will maintain fine.

I just can't seem to get back into healthy eating at all either that's why I have been winging it on the 5:2 fasting thing as can eat what I want 5 days out of 7 then the 2 fast days generally aren't as hard as I thought. Need to get back into making better food choices though but its hard when you just aren't feeling it x
