Em's diary

I buy the total 0% Greek yogurt, it's more expensive but the lowest carb one I've found and there's no added anything!

I find the 0% greek divine - it tastes like cream! Trouble is I can quite happily eat a large tub in one go :-(

lolz, i try and get at least 3 servings out of one big tub, but i know what you mean - it's hard to stop ladling it out of the pot isn't it!

My plan of back to basics seems to be going well so far, will be interesting to see what the scales say at the weekend, though to be honest i don't think i was really that far off before. i will tweak the muffin recipe next time i make it i think - fewer eggs and less skim milk powder but i think i've been pretty strict with myself the whole way through, so there's not a huge amount to pare back.

I'd been so obsessed with the muffins i'd forgotten how much i like the galettes! Also seem to have solved my soggy prawn dilemma - i had loads in the freezer, that i'd tried defrosting before and found too soggy to enjoy, but once defrosted i dry fried them in garlic till all the moisture is driven off and they've taken on a little colour works really well and was nice today at lunch.

B: Missed this as really busy at work this morning
L: about 6 generous slices roast beef with wholegrain mustard, approx 100g garlic prawns, half cinnamon galette
D: about 230g turkey cut into strips and stir fried with garlic and onion, sf jelly
S: 3 slices smoked salmon, 2 crabsticks, half galette, bowl sweetened greek yogurt

i definately find going back to galettes and keeping off the muffins is the best way to cut back

My new plan is for galettes all this week, then one batch for 2 days next week with galettes the rest of the days.

good plan ....my kids love the muffins so i only make them once a week now

My muffins have the same recipe as the galette so it's all the same for me. I think that toffee muffin recipe is hefty in extras (skimmed milk, muller lite) and there lies the potential problem. Perhaps just for the weekend?

Have you revised your oatbran measurement now Emma? If you need to tweak anything, that could be it since it's supposed to help us eliminate. Also perhaps move them all to earlier in the day (ie don't go to bed on oatbran swelling up inside you!!)

Soggy prawns? Gosh! Never noticed that but I do dab "dry" everything I defrost...

BTW Em, I had some Tesco Greek 0% yogurt tonight; not as nice and thick as the Total one, but a much better price at 50p for 200g.

i've tried the sainsburys own brand, and again - whilst cheaper it's not as thick or creamy, and had a higher carb percentage too!

Happy pancake day everyone! Made some for the OH and a dinner guest today, but managed to refrain.

B: half cinnamon galette
L: 6 generous slices roast beef with wholegrain mustard, about 150g garlic prawns
S: rest of galette (had this earlier today rather than saving it for "pudding")
D: Ginger chilli lime chicken with broccoli and green beans, sf jelly

Glad I forgot about pancake day... here, in baker's, they have them piled by the till and the former me used to buy a stash...

Did you find you were hungrier in the evening having moved your post dinner snack 1/2 galette to afternoon snack? My head still misses my egg custard after dinner, but I'm certainly not hungry for it.

I was ok actually, and not so hungry when I got home. Sf jelly worked for a sweet bite after dinner so I'll carry on having it earlier and see how I go.

Your willpower is excellent, Emma.

Wasn't pancake day here though, it was last month (the children still have them often though - we have a fab toy for making tiny ones!)

It wasn't so hard in the end, I really find that I don't want anything that would upset the diet plan, not really so I find I don't begrudge anyone else having that stuff either.

No plan for conso yet - I've not lost anything now since 27th February though I'm still feeling slimmer in my clothes so perhaps I'm just catching up - feels like it's come off at a crazy rate since I started in November. As yet conso feels a long way off, but as I get closer I'll be reading the conso diaries from the beginning for ideas. You guys have done so well with it, it's very scary thinking about moving onto the next stage, but I feel a bit more secure knowing that others have gone before and survived!

Is your goal your dukan true weight or a chosen weight?

Not surprising if your body is consolidating a bit, great you are feeling slimmer, stalls can be difficult for the head but if you stay positive its bound to start moving again soon.

As you like Anja, Robin and DD in that you cook (and are inventive with it) I'm sure you'll be fine on conso. I guess with your losses slowing makes it feel like its a while off but if you get a whoosh you'll be right there.......

My true weight was 10 9 which I adjusted to 10 7 but I said I'd see how I felt at that and perhaps go on another half stone.

I've been lax on the exercise front which has a lot to do with it I think. My gym membership expired and I don't want to renew it as they are really rubbish. Trying to see if I can pick a treadmill up on eBay for cheap!

Check out freecycle too for gym equipment.
Are you not doing Zumba?

Another few pounds and I might brave the gym in my building, just need to work out an unpopular time.
