Everyday's a SW day :) x

aww that's good, but what a wee bum wanting to feed so much at night lol.

would you consider giving him formula for his last feed before you put him down? he might sleep for longer then you would be more than ready to feed him yourself through the night and could express what he would've got before bed?

i know people say breast is best and he's getting it....but if it was an option for you, maybe one then or even 1 when he wakens the 1st time would let you get a few hrs rest til he was looking for more?

it'll all fall into place but it's hard going....always been jealous of people i know who's kids slept 12hrs straight through! lol

have you's had some time to yourself yet since he's arrived...in fact, i've typed that then realised you're feeding him yourself so that won't be too easy just yet x

I had been thinkin bout doin the odd formula feed as I'v heard it does seem 2 make them sleep better/longer but tbh it makes me wonder wats in the formula 2 ave that effect if u kno wat I mean n I'm not sure which formula wud b best anyway. I'v heard a few good reports on that Aptamil stuff as apparently it's sposed 2 b the closest 2 breast milk tho. I'm hopin the expressin will b a success as I seem 2 ave an abundance of milk so I'm sorta thinkin if I can stick this 4 a while longer til I get a wee stock pile of my milk built up then I'd b able 2 share the feedin wif hubby that way....

As 4 time 2 ourselves u guessed rite lol! Everybody keeps tellin me I shud b sleepin when Sam is durin the day etc but since hubby's still off work til next Mon I kinda feel like I shud b spendin Sam's nap time wif him even if it's just sittin talkin rubbish on the sofa. Hopefully that milk reserve I'm tryin 2 create will also allow us a nite out in the not 2 distant future :fingerscrossed: lol!

lol i'm sure it'll help.

when i had to change, i used aptimil...hungrier babies cos mine's was a gannet lol
the formula must be heavier in their tummies or something cos they usually last 4 hrs but when it's breast...it's on demand and more frequent i think?
don't get me wrong...i'm no expert lol

it's hard cos he might not take the bottle feed at all...but then again he might gulp it down and sleep for hours in that case, i'd def give him it at night so you could get some zzzz's lol.
you could buy one of the wee ready made cartons of it and try him with it to see how he goes....typically if he slept a while thru the night, you would be awake checking he was ok and waiting for him to waken hehe
he might be snoozing all day but wait till he decides he's gonna stay up more and you'll just be used to doing this or that cos he's sleeping and then he'll rule the roost and say sorry pal, not today lol....aaah fun and games isn't it.

how have you been getting on with your meals etc...have you had time to do some stuff for yourself? x

yeah i reckon it would...i made some extra so there were leftovers for tomorrow and put quorn pieces in as i'm gonna do a green day...it's yummy!

as for the award...i got my 2.5 stone award then had the usual 4 weekly gain that i get. i had a couple of days off plan last weekend (for the VERY 1st time) so thought that it wouldn't really sort itself out like it usually does (the gain and more is usually off the week after) and thought i might have a STS...but no...i had another bloody gain :( ????

anyway...not fair but i've been really good with low syns all week so it BETTER be good on monday or they'll want that award back! hehe x

Hey hun, well I'v been back on plan since Wed n other than a wee slip-up wif dinner last nite (ended up avin a chippy ) I'v been doin well. The meals I cooked n stocked the freezer wif r comin in quite handy after all! Last nite was awful on the Sam front as he didn't seem 2 sleep at all n cos of that he's been quite tetchy all day 2day, just grisly n not as content as usual if u kno wat I mean. I'v been readin the Baby Whisperer book which suggests a 3hr cycle of feeding, playin/changing n then sleepin which I'v been tryin 2 do 2day. Part of it includes "cluster feedin" n "dream feedin" which I'm gona try this evenin in the hope that it'll help Sam sleep even tho I'm not expectin him 2 sleep the whole nite thru at his age, but I'd b grateful 4 a few hours unbroken sleep! lol! :D

Oh n I keep meanin 2 ask - I notice u ave dahl loaf quite often...any chance I cud ave the recipe pls as it sounds like sumthin I'd like n wud b handy 2 ave wif soup 4 lunches etc. Thanx in advance! :)

Hey you :)

glad to hear you're doing well...i wouldn't worry too much about the chippy...you must be burning up lots of calories between muncher sam and all the rushing about ;) lol

what a shame he's a bit unsettled...hopefully you'll get a better time with him tonight, but it's no good when they're whingy....and it doesn't get any easier that's for sure hehe.

the dahl loaf is good...i make it every week, cut it up and keep it in the fridge which lets me grab a couple of wee squares each day to take for work or sometimes i have it with chips and salad on a green day or with salad at lunch and it's easy.

for mine i make a packet of beef savoury rice up, when it's cooked i add a tin of asda's chickpea dahl, 2/3 eggs and bung it in the oven.
it can be a pain to cook tho and is def trial and error. the 1st time i did it in a loaf tin and it took forever to cook right through then crumbled everywhere trying to get it out. now i do 2 smaller ones from the mix in wee quiche dishes and leave them to cool for a bit before i attempt taking them out but 99% of the time...they don't have the bottom on them lol.

i used to do muffins from them in a muffin tray....but they started sticking really bad so i gave up!

let me know how you get on if you try it! x

I hope I'm burnin plenty of calories anyway, I spose I must b just 2 b still awake n conscious - mostly! :D Fingers x'd 4 a wee bit of sleep 2nite....

Thanx 4 the recipe n tips, I'l let u kno it goes :)

sounds like you're doing well....i'd love to see some pics of him now if you want to share em? can always pm if you'd prefer (and if you can...i've not got a clue when it comes to private messaging really hehe) x

Hey I just spotted this way back in your thread

oooh before i forget...i'm having a sandwich tomorrow for lunch and had picked up the warburtons 400g wm loaf. usually i just get morrisons savers wm loaf cos 2 slices works out at 60g and it's quite near a "Normal" sized slice.
anyway, any time i've had the 400g loaf, i have 2 slices but today, for some reason, i weighed the slices and 2 was only 42 grams!!!
instantly thought of all the times i've been bumped lol.
added another slice which took me just over the 60g so took the top crust off of 1 slice and divided my cheese over the 3 slices which means i can maybe have a wee bite of that in the morning or have that extra wee bit there if i need it throughout the day?....

I have just weighed mine (frozen) and my 2 came in at 48g an extra made it 60g. So if I wanr to I can have the extra half slice. Goodee, Ilike my bread.

something to bare in mind seeing as we're allowed 60g of any wholemeal bread/roll as a B choice x
