So as most of you will have known, yesterday I went to RAF Waddington's Internation Airshow.
Had a really enjoyable day.
That's it =)
Haha... I'm just kidding you.
However, I do apologise in advance, there will be quite a few photos.
So after an early start, we got to my friend's house in Lincoln to collect our tickets.
She works for the Met Office on the RAF Waddington base, and managed to get hold of enough free tickets for her, her parents & her mum's parents, me, my bestie and the boy.
So the only thing I had to pay for for a good day out was the petrol to get there - and that was only a tenner anyway.
We arrived and had a wander down the taxiway where they'd put stalls and then went towards the main runway where they were doing flying displays all day.
Saw loads of different planes and helicopters, including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with the Lancaster Bomber flying over with the Spitfire & Hurricane, The Vulcan, a Chinook & of course, the Red Arrows. The Falcons parachute team also did a display as we were leaving.
We spent a few hours down near the runway watching the displays and then went for another wander.
Then we heard the announcement saying the Red Arrows were on display within the next 5 minutes, so we headed to the Met Office office where my friend works.
We were allowed in to have a nosey and then allowed on the roof to watch the displays.
The Red Arrows flew over with the Sentinel, which was a surprise to the crowds as it wasn't in the programme that the Sentinel was flying with them, however we knew that it might happen because one of my friend's work colleagues had said it had happened on Saturday.
The Sentinel just flew over the once and then landed, ready for the Red Arrows to do their flying display.
This was their Concorde formation
And their Lancaster one.
Then they did a few other moves, like corkscrews, cyclones and splits
But my favourite was this one.
I managed to get a few pics in succession and really like seeing it build, so there's a few pics going on here.
Then the Chinook did their display and it had been announced as the best display of the show.
Which was understandable as it was awesome.
That's pretty much all we did all day - watch the flying displays, so I didn't get in half as much walking as I would've liked. And I know the boy was a bit disappointed as well.
He, like me, would've loved to have wandered up and down all day, looking at all the different stalls and stuff, but we didn't want to be rude and say we'd rather go off.
Also, because we spent so much time just sitting/standing, I ended up getting really burnt, which is so sore now =(
I swear the suncream we were using was just tanning oil, because I'm miles more burnt after yesterday than I would've been without any on at all.
So me and my short shorts have fallen out because this is what my legs & chest look like
Food wise - I behaved.
Walked into the show, the boy was hungry (he'd run out of milk that morning so couldn't have his weetabix) so he went and got chips.
Which smelled amazing.
At lunchtime I ate my 5pp salad that I'd prepared that morning.
It included a Morrisons mixed leaves pack (0pp), with 1pp of salad cream, 2pp of chicken chunks, 2pp of sweetcorn, peppers (0pp) and an egg white (0pp).
Was absolutely delish.
I'd also packed a few snacky bits, and knew the points of them all, with enough of a variety that I could mix and match what I wanted.
I did also treat myself to a twister ice lolly as I knew they were just 2pp.
Then on the way home, the boy and the bestie were hungry, so we stopped off in Burger King.
Their Chicken Royales smelled so nice, and I don't even like eating at BK.
I was drooling over them, even though I wasn't hungry.
Just wanted to eat them.
Had to keep telling myself - just 11 days and you'll get pick & mix, cake and a chinese meal, and hopefully be at goal.
Just gotta keep 100% strict for 11 days.
Got back to the boy's house and had 9 points left.
5pp went on a WW Cottage Pie and the other 4 went on a forest fruits yoghurt go ahead bar.
I've not eaten many of them recently as they're so high in points for what they are, and I'd rather spend 5pp on a dessert than 4pp on two of those.
But I didn't really fancy using the 4pp on something huge, so they were ideal.
After that, shower, then bed.
I was extremely tired this morning though.
Too many late nights/early mornings meant not wanting to get up.
I think that's it.
I'm at work at 415 again today, so off to grandma's for lunch.
Gonna walk rather than drive though, to get my steps up.
Very jealous of my mum - she's been to work this morning and already earned herself nearly 3 points just walking to and from work and the 2 hours cleaning she does (she's a cleaner in the local secondary school).
She's also got 2 hours to do this afternoon after school finishes.
She'll easily make it to about 7 or 8 activity points just by working.
I need that kind of job.
I can barely start earning with my job =(
Hope everyone had a good weekend and here's to a new week!
