Extra Easy Online - attempting to maintain!

Ironically I just got a phone call offering me that temp job I got passed over for last week! Apparently she didn't like it as it was mainly filing (not sure what she was expecting to do seeing as it's temp work and it's nearly always remedial and pretty dull) Anyway I turned it down! It's funny how work seems to come along when you don't want/need it. I'm hoping that it's as plentiful when I'm in a position to take something else on. There is the temptation to return to this when I'm back from Cheltenham but I might see how I feel about that one. Not really sure how to broach it again without setting expectations as I might decide I don't want to. And also if I did get a job before this one finished I'd be leaving them in the lurch again!

I'm feeling really positive today overall - I think it may be because I'm going back to Cheltenham and looking forward to seeing family and friends. I've pretty much been left on my own with little bits and bobs to do but I'm ok with that today. I honestly think that I would enjoy this role more if I were in an office with other people doing similar roles to me. It's just so isolating and your pretty much left on your own to work things out for yourself (which can be satisfying and frustrating in equal measures).

Anyway I should be making the most of this quiet time and cracking on with my job apps!

4 syns per 100ml made up as directed.

I just make up a batch per person according to the packet instructions which works out as 1oz powder to 100ml water andI syn it as 4 syns per person. Going to make more tonight though as I fancy having it quite saucy!
 
Food Diary...

Breakfast - muesli (HEXb), ff yoghurt, banana, strawberries, blueberries

Lunch - lf supernoodles w/ 1 babybel light (HEXa)

Dinner (planned) - leftover pulled pork with veg egg fried rice (broccoli, babycorn, soya beans, cabbage, spring onions, carrot, mangetout) and mayflower curry sauce (6 syns)

Snacks - popcorn (2.5 syns), alpen light cherry bakewell (3.5 syns), grapes, shape 0%, 4 pieces aero bubbly (4 syns), 3 pieces milka daim (3 syns)

3 tea w/ skimmed milk
Sparkling water
chamomile tea

Total syns = 19

I saw this being made on hairy bikers earlier this evening and thinking I may give it a go (minus the ghee).

My friend is coming for dinner tomorrow night and I'm going to make the coconut prawn curry from the hairy dieters cookbook. I've heard good things so I'm hoping it's yummy! I'm even going to attempt my own curry paste which I'm pretty excited about as I've struggled to find a curry recipe yet that has had the depth of flavour you get from a takeaway/restaurant that has been low fat. I've seen a couple of threads singing the praises of the pastes on Jamie Olivers website so I'm going to make the tikka masala paste and use it for my prawn curry. I need to work out the syns but I'll be using water instead of oil so they should be small.

Daniel made us some amazing lamb kofta kebabs for dinner, with giant cous cous and salad, they were so so yummy!! The boys ate 3 they were so good! X
 
Brilliant glad to hear they sell it as I wasn't sure I'd imagined that lol. I'll definitely be making a trip when I'm back in Cheltenham in that case!

Your's and Dan's curries always look incredible - I should actually just try one of your recipes as the one's from SW are always lacking flavour. I also need to make a note of some of your thai dinners as I love thai food.
 
So I went online to that new link and tried to order the sauce. 3 packets was costing £12 which about €15 euros. The postage and packaging cost £18 which is about €23. Nearly €40 for three packets of curry sauce, I just couldn't justify it! Quite disappointed really as I was looking forward to trying it. I'll try elsewhere.Do you buy the medium or hot one?

That prawn curry sounds lovely. I must try this hairy dieters cookbook, the recipes sound great!

The hairy dieters coconut curry was a success.

Just trying to work out the syns so here are the ingredients:

Jamie Olivers Tikka Masala Curry Paste (makes about 6 tbsps)
2 cloves garlic
1 thumb-sized piece fresh root ginger
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
2 teaspoons garam masala
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon oil (I'll just use water next time) (6 syns)
1 tablespoon water
2 tablespoons tomato puree
2 fresh red chillies
1 small bunch fresh coriander
1 tablespoon desiccated coconut (4.5 syns)
2 tablespoons ground almonds (9 syns)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds

Total syns = 19.5
Per tbsp = 3
Per tbsp without oil = 2

Coconut Prawn Curry
Serves 2*
2 tbsp curry paste*
2 tbsp cold water*
1 medium onion halved and finely sliced*
1 orange or yellow pepper deseeded and cut into chunks*
1 tbsp mango chutney*(2 syns)
3 large ripe tomatoes, quartered*(didn't use)
200ml half fat coconut milk*(11 syns)
2tsp cornflour*(didn't use)
200g king prawns (raw or cooked, but thawed if frozen)*
100g baby spinach leaves**

Total syns = 13
Per portion without paste = 6.5
Per portion with paste (no oil) = 8.5

Atrociously off plan couple of days due to lunch at a tea rooms (cake), dinner out with the in laws (scallops, cod & half an eton mess & wine) and my brothers 30th birthday party (bbq & cider).

We're in cheltenham for the rest of the week and staying in an apartment so planning to stock up on SW foods and stay on plan for the rest of the week starting today. We're at my mums tonight so I may offer to cook but not really sure what to make!?
 
Trip to Wholefoods and more money spent on food. I swear I spend more money on food than anything else! I was in tea heaven and couldn't resist adding to my pukka tea collection and got "love" and "morning time". I also got some szechuan peppercorns which I've been looking for for ages so that was exciting as I can finally make szechuan seabass from the taste of Asia cookbook. The OH was also very excited about finding liquid smoke for his pulled pork experiments!

We also got some chocolate dipped shortbread which didn't make it to the photo as we shared those with the family with a cuppa.
