Fabulous first week - now to keep the motivation going!

I didn't finish work until gone 8pm last night so I ended up with a kebab. Not the minced mysterious meat of a doner kebab, but a proper Turkish lamb shish kebab. Big chunks of lamb, charcoal grilled, salad, pickled vegetables, chilli and garlic sauce.

I'm counting 6 for the sauces and another 8 for the thin flatbread it all came wrapped in. I could have left that, but I ate it :) I did, however, refuse the chips or rice that came with it, so that makes yesterday a Red day.

I went over my syns for yesterday, but I had lots spare and I'd already weighed in for the week so I'm not worried :)

Sat in the hotel this morning I can't see me wanting breakfast, but I have still got the Alpen lights and the fruit in my bag, so that will do for brunch. Back home tonight.

God, I love kebabs. I placed my food order at Abel & Cole last night and I've got some pork tenderloin coming next week - which then resulted in me drooling over pork kebab recipes for about an hour.

Get some breakfast in you, you know it makes sense!

I know, kebabs mmmmmmm

i had a banana and an Alpen Light, and I've got more fruit and another AL to keep me going :)

Thursday 3rd April 2014

Right - back in the office. Deep joy.

Today will be Green, I think.

B / Brunch (all before 11am) : 2 x Alpen Lights (HEXB1), apple, banana, clementine

L : JP, baked beans, jalepenos

D : HM veggie soup, with Ryvita and cheese spread (HEXB2 + HEXA1)

Snacks : Fruit

HEXA2 : Milk in tea

The soup is in the freezer and predates SW - I think it's made with ham stock (the liquid left over from slow cooking a gammon). However, I always leave it in a very cold fridge overnight and skim all the fat off so I don't think I'm going to worry that it's not vegetable stock. Besides, it tastes amazing ;)

I can't remember your WI day? Perhaps have a couple of Success Express days to ameliorate the damage?

Not until Thursday - I shall do my best to try to mitigate the damage :) But if I gain I'll know exactly why and how to stop it happening again. I'm in for the long haul and I will probably make some poor choices from time to time. That's what got me here in the first place. I will make them less often from now on.

N I'm in for the long haul and I will probably make some poor choices from time to time.

I think that's a really practical approach to take and one that I've adopted too :) I had a bit of an eatathon on the weekend, the scales have gone up a little but I know I'll have them heading back down again this week.

Theria, you're right, those things will happen from time to time. What will define whether you continue to be successful is how you move on after those little wobbles. Get right back on the horse today and try not to punish yourself either by feeling guilty, or depriving yourself, or turning a bad day into a bad week. Remind yourself how far you've come and how good it feels!

Good luck for Thursday hun, I'm off on hols for a few days but will try to check in.

That was exceedingly good :eat:

And because the chicken and potatoes are just as good cold I've got the same again in a box for lunch tomorrow :)

I don't need junk when I can eat food this good. It might be quicker, it might be less work - but it makes me feel bloated and guilty. Down with junk, I say. Down with it.

Yum! I find the same as you too, junk does make me feel really bad where as food from scratch doesn't. It's not just now either - I used to feel it before when I ate it but put up with it for the taste!

Well done :) x

EE today :

B : All Bran (HEXB), strawberries, Aldi yoghurt (1.5 syns)

L : L/o Hunter's chicken (3.5 syns), new potatoes, salad

D : Not sure yet - might be HM chilli and pasta with salad

HEXA : Milk in tea

Snacks : Fruit

Hoping fervently that I've done enough for a STS tomorrow :innocent0001:

Well dinner turned into a proper comfort-food-fest!

Big bed of salad, jalapeño salsa, more jalapeños, SW chips on top and a small portion of HM chilli poured all over it. My mouth is still tingling but it was delicious! And syn-free!

Hoping the chillis work some magic on my digestive system ready for WI tomorrow. I would be delighted with a STS, but I won't be upset with a gain because I'll know what caused it. Either way, in 12 weeks I'll have averaged over 3lbs a week (thanks to the huge whoosh in the first week) so I'm really pleased with that.

I'm out on Saturday for lunch with some friends, but I know the menu where we're going has some really tasty SW friendly options so that'll be a good day out.

Hope everyone else is OK and winding down nicely to the weekend :)

Oooh your dinner sounds lovely! I had a grilled gammon round with boiled potatoes and peas. Still can't believe that a) it was only 220 calories and b) no fat came off it whatsoever!!
Good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how you get on :)

Whoop whoop!

1.5lbs off! :bliss:

Not quite sure I deserve that, given what happened at the weekend  but the hard work since then seems to have paid off!

Under 20 stone (JUST!) for the first time in I don't know how long. I will be working even harder this week to make sure I consolidate this.

Hi!

Just thought I'd drop a note to let you know i'm reading :) We started at roughly the same weight and have the same goal (and are the same height! YAY! for another tall lady!)

I'm not doing SW, but I used too! I'm getting jealous of the SW chips, my favourite meal on SW was chips, mushy peas and a 'fried' egg :D

Congrats on the loss this week :bliss: and an average of 3lbs per week is amazing! Getting into the teens is such a good feeling!
