Food diary of a chunky girl

Someone today at work asked how much weight I'd lost?. Yes someone noticed I've lost weight without me telling them. My only confusion is so far I've only lost 2lbs which isn't a noticeable amount. Maybe I will have a good weigh in on Friday, maybe the lady was just wrong, but either way I'm pretty pleased.

Now today's food was:

Breakfast - ciabatta, scrambled egg, clementines, an apple & a yoghurt
Snack - clementines x 3
Lunch - salmon sushi (3 syns), edamame beans
Snack - ham & tomatoes
Dinner - smoked ham, tomatoes, swede, carrots & SW chips. Ketchup (2 syns) Physalis.

HEXA - milk for tea
HEXB - ciabatta
Syns - 5

Today was a hungry day, I didn't sleep well, was very tired & as such I ate a lot! I suppose that's ok as I didn't go over my syns.
 
Another slightly rubbish day. That's 4 days out of 7 I've counted to be a bit rubbish. WI tomorrow so we'll see how this week has gone.

Green day for a change
Breakfast - ciabatta, egg, tomatoes, ketchup (1 syn)
Lunch - 2 x small glasses dry wine ( 9 syns)
Snack- apple & yoghurt, sugarsnap peas
Dinner - SW chips, beans, egg, ciabatta, tomato, ketchup (2 syns)

Well there is good news and bad news.

Firstly I lost 1.5lb this week. :) Although it isn't as much as some of the gargantuan weight losses I see on here I am happy with my slow but steady progress.

Unfortunately since then it has all gone a bit down hill! A few nights out with friends and it's gone a bit to pot! A lot of the syns below are my best guess, but in all honesty they may be miles off.

Friday is as follows:
Breakfast - ciabatta, benecol (1 syn) fruit
Lunch - snack sushi (0.5 syns), pineapple
Drinks after work -2x rose (9 syns)
Dinner thai crackers (10 syns) pad thai (9 syns) 2 small glasses of red (9 syns)

HEXA - MILK FOR TEA
HEXB - ciabatta
Syns - 48.5 :sigh:


Now I could have reigned it back yesterday and been good but as you can see.......

Saturday
Breakfast - fruit and yoghurt
Lunch - Chicken satay (3 syns) thai crackers (5 syns) seafood stirfry and steamed rice (i'm putting the oil as the HEXB so 3 syns)
Dinner - (And I'm eating out yet again ...........!) Salmon and goats cheese salad consisting of salad leaves, salmon, goats cheese (3 syns), seeds (1 syn) balsamic dressing (3 syns), edame beans. Wasabi peas (4,5 syns), rocky road type thing (10 syns)

HEXA - NONE
HEXB - oil
Syns - 32.5 :break_diet:

So that's 81 syns for 2 days!!!! Now I realise why I am as heavy as I am - that's not an unusual weekend of food for me. If I'm going to spread my syns throughout the week that means I can have 5 syns a day, which bearing in mind I have a cocktail party to go to is unlikely.

I think the thing I am going to take away from this is that I am looking at Slimming World as a new way of life, rather than a diet that will help me lose weight quickly. And as such I need a life style that does allow me to go out and eat and do the things I enjoy doing and then get back to healthy eating afterwards without having to beat myself up or starve myself for the next week. Because that would be no fun would it?:crazy:

Lunch - jacket potato, onion & tuna Mayo (0.5 syns) , clementines
Snack - mango, coconut & rice pudding ( using HEXA coconut milk)
Dinner - pasta with a spinach, bacon & tomato sauce

Oh dear it all went very badly yesterday. Too many cocktails led to a bout of munchies on the way home which meant that altogether I probably had my whole weeks syn allowance in one go. Ahhhhhhhhh!

I'm going to try for no/very few syns now until Friday.

Dinner - sweet potato, butternut squash, spinach & butterbean curry with boiled rice. A mango

Weigh in tomorrow, I can't imagine it's going to be good .......
 
Another lovely weekend & another weekend of bad food. I am beginning to see a pattern!

Friday-

Evening out - cider (9), gin and tonics (8 syns), red wine (5 syns)

Lunch - Scallops. Thai seafood curry (9 syns)
Dinner - Mussels florentine (3), 2 glasses red wine (10 syns), nuts (8.5)

I think I may spread my syns throughout the week this week.

47.5 syns remaining for the rest of the week.

Breakfast - clementines
Lunch - leek soup, 1 slice of brown genius
Snack - chocolate brownie (12 syns)
Dinner - persian onion soup followed by sole with spinach
Snack - options drink (2 syns), toast & benecol (0.5 syn)

HEXB - 2 x genius
Syns - 14.5

Syns left for the week - 33 - seeing as I'm going out twice this week I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do this.....
 
I've fallen off the wagon again. I'm starting to feel quite disheartened. I'm going to try for no/very few syns tomorrow but after that I'm out every night until Saturday. Roll on next week!

Red day
Breakfast - 2 x genius brown bread, ham, tomatoes
Lunch - persian onion soup
Snack - dark chocolate (10 syns), clementine
Dinner - smoked trout, beetroot, green beans & horseradish (0.5 syns) dressing

Dinner -SW burger, wedges, coleslaw (1 syn) beetroot. Strawberries, yoghurt, meringue (6 syns)

Hi Emmou! Didn't want to read and run, it sounds like you've had a difficult time over the last couple of weeks, try not to get disheartened I'm sure you'll get there. just keep thinking this year is your fresh start and opportunity to reach your goal, have a :bighug:from me x
 
Thanks loho for your message. Your very right, this year is a new year & can be a fresh start. I'm feeling really motivated at the moment. I just need to figure out how to balance my social life with a healthy life, fingers crossed I will get there sooner rather than later.
