From here to Eternally Slim

Well hello everyone...:)

I know I haven't been on for a while - but hoping this long post will make it clear why.

But first:

Okay read some of the thread too much to catch up with for now but have read a few.

Pesty - you bombshell you - I bet you were flabbergasted when she said that I know I would of been.:flirt2:

MLM - OMG you superstar!!!!!:happy096:

EF - Hope your feeling better.:)

Kate - welcome hope you find all of the ladies on here motivational !

Me I have been off the wagon and struggling to get back on - but determined.
:cry:My Best friend who has had a battle with Breast Cancer and has fought it off has had bits removed to improve her chances now has heard she has about 5/6 hot spots in her torso not counting the tumour in her brain - the outlook is not good and I am spending as much time as I can with her. It has hit me hard to know that we won't be the worst two old biddies in a care home together as we planned. I am hoping that she doesn't suffer a long illness with this as I know this isn't what she wants - we have always dieted together and since this diagnosis of what she now has and what she is going through it has hit me how precious life is and how we must live each day to the full. Diet or don't diet just be happy.

Sorry for the long post!

Thanks Mel, Im fine with the STS this week, as wasn't too good anyway.

Kitkat, really sorry to hear about your friend and yes, diet wise, should be the last thing on your mind to worry about. Im sure you want to spend as much time with her as you can, but I would think your friend would want you still to be happy hun.. and if that means loosing weight, which you both did together. Go with how you feel. Huge Hugs. xxx

Thanks EF and Kate -

Its hard not to cry in front of her but I know I have to be strong so that her life is filled with good times and laugh out loud moments.:)

Buying Mag today so will try my best to get back on that wagon I need something else to focus on when I'm not thinking of her.:)

Again thanks for hugs ladies...:)

Awww Kats!!!! Hugs sweetie!!! Its awful when these things which we cannot control effect those closest to us. I know when my grandma was been diagnosed i went into overload controling my diet as it was the only thing that i could control, feeling helpless when it came to the cancer.

Its not healthy to go to either extreme with the plan (obsessive syn watching or going crazy), enjoy time with your friend and tell her everyday how much you love her. Eat the best you can but dont force yourself into it and know that we are all here for a chat when you need us.

xxxx

Thanks Pesty - saw her at lunch time and its really hard to believe that she has this dreaded thing. We are not sure how long she has apparently she has had a numb mouth for a couple of months now and she has read thnat when this happens she hasn't got long - i hope that they wrong and I have time with my friend for a long time yet.

Its nice that you went to see her, they can never really know how long someone has and having something to live for is a huge % of the time that is left and your friend sounds very loved so im sure she will hold on for as long as possible. Its always difficult, were not sure how long my nan has left and obviously we want her to be with us for as long as possible but at the same time we wouldnt want her to suffer. Its an impossible thing to understand and accept, i really do feel for you hun xx

Morning all!!!

Hows everyone getting on, i cannot believe that no1 has posted in 16 hours!!! WHERE IS EVERYONE!!!????

Im feeling good today, spured on by my loss i feel firmly on the wagon! Getting all our furniture delivered tomorrow so will spend thursday & friday night plus all day saturday making things from flat packed boxes lol. If we can get it all finished in time im going to have my grandma over as her broken leg is healing and so she can get about a bit more now :D

Hope your all having a good day and havent deserted me lol xxxx

Morning guys and gals

KitKat, sending you big hugs {{{{{ }}}}}, difficult to know what to say unless you are going through the same thing. Pesty is fab and her words say what we all feel.

I am working tonight til 10pm, so not in work til 11am today and just a few hours tomorrow. Am cooking my pasta now to take to work, with passatta, chilli, peppers, mushrooms, baby corn and ham. I saw a recipe for hawiian pasta, so gonna heat that up later and stir through some fresh chopped pineapple. Hope that tastes ok, lol.. or I'll be starving. Made some curry and rice on Monday after WI, so saved some rice, which I'll make egg fried rice when I get home this eve for dinner, only takes 10 minutes to do and don't want to be faffing about cooking earlier at work as training starts at 7pm.

Wishing everyone a good day, will catch up later. xxx

Pesty, our posts just crossed. Im here, lol..Glad you are feeling on a good note hun. Loosing weight is just one of the best feelings, to spur us on for the week. All good things come to those who wait and you really did wait, so you so deserve it. Your Nan will love your new home. xxx

Aww EF :) you made me smile!

Nice that you dont have to go in until 11!! I am jealous! Been sitting her for an hour now trying to casually stifle yawns!! lol

I like the sound of your pasta!!! Im making a pasta bake for dinner with sausages but am actually just going to make a tomato sauce put it on the pasta and melt some cheese on under the grill, OH can have his with chips, im having some yummy veges and roasted BNS!!!

I saw in the mag that sainsburys have a new egg fried rice which is really low syn and i think you just zap it in the microwave!! I made stir fry last nyt, cooked a pork joint in the slow cooker for 10 hours, OH was going on about how much he doesnt like pork!! Anyway he ate all the stir fry and it seems the left over pork seems to have dissapeared into his rolls for today so im quite pleased as he must have like it!!

Morning all

Thanks EF - yes I agree Pesty always knows what to say - well done on the flat by the way - its always nice moving into somewhere and making it your own.

Well today started off ok until I asked hubby what he was doing today - "Gonna make a start on the back bedroom, will need to move your clothes into my wadrobe though" all said in a gruff voice I replied its okay they well fit into mine (at the moment they hang outside the wardrobe on the doors) Hubby "Why don't you put they back in the wardrobe then" - my reply " Guess I'm just lazy" all said in a nice tone of voice - his reply " I might as well go on a bike ride and no bother decortaing then as you dont F******** care" - with that I didn't say another word I just put things back in mny wardrobe got ready for work and went.
I was upset why does it talk to me in this way - the wardrobes I might add are little girls ones that are fixed to the wall I have two rails but everything hangs over the rails as the length of dresses, skirts and even tops are too long - he says I have too many clothes - I feel like putting the whole lot in a bin bag - then I won't have anything to wear! perhaps he'll be happy then. He complains if I exercise in the front room - sweat on the carpet - I put a mat down and really I'm not dripping - again I don't care whay should he bother - argh!

Sorry about that but it really does rile me he doesn't think that he has said anything wrong - men........

Check you out with your Domestic Gadgets, hun.. lol.. Pork cooked slowly is the best way to do it. I cook a join on the kettle BBQ for 5 hours, covered and out of direct heat. It just falls apart. Think OH is enjoying the bliss of home cooked food and you at hand :). Pasta with sausages is really lovely, I did that last week and took some to work a few weeks ago, the lad I looked after couldn't get enough of it, lol.

That egg fried rice sounds good, quick too, might look at that for another time, as have rice cooked from the other night and some veggies that need to be used. Thanks for that.

Right off to dry my hair and have my bfast (ww yogurts), will get back on before I leave for work. xx

Ohh KK, you are feeling more emotional at the moment, which is to be expected. Your Hubby, probably has thought that doing this will make you feel brighter and all meant well. Men at times, don't think passed that, bless him, lol.. Go with it and help him if you can hun xx

Thanks EF I will, I did tell him when he is away for 8 days (bliss) I will be sorting out my wardrobe but he always has to have a dig.

mmmm Pasta and sausages sounds lush.

I have a Rosemary Conley Slow cooker and things always seem to burn. So if I put in a joint of pork for 2 how much liquid do I add?

Oh Kitkat men are a nightmare!! lol They always have been and always will be!!! You both have understandably hightened emotions at the moment and will take things out on each other without realising!! Im my relationship im the clean freak and OH is the tidy freak so we stress each other out as he'll keep things tidy but leave a shoe print on the floor and i'll clean the shoe print but leave my shoes out!! haha. Its these differences that make us work together but sometimes its hard for us to understand the others habits. Most men are not very good at communicating what they want or how they're feeling without getting stroppy so i wouldnt let it worry you too much!!

Slow cooker wise, i add no liquid :D I set it to low and sit the joint on 4 balls of tin foil to stop the bottom from burning then just put the lid on and leave it until i get back home so yesterday it was 10 hours but it would have been ready after 8

Ooohh KK, 8 days on your own, lol.. how lovely. I like it when my OH goes away (like it when he's here too, lol), kids behave better, I can have my mates over for drinks in the eve and go to bed early or late and not feel guilty. My OH goes to Korea on business early October, thats for a week, so will be kind of looking forward to that myself, lol.

Forget to say, last night, I made a rice pudding, OMG, it was sooo nice.

Recipe:
Pudding Rice (75g)
1 pint of skimmed milk
2 tbsp of sweetner
Cinamon stick and 1tsp nutmeg

Add all ingredients to a casserole dish, stir and cook on Gas 4, for 1.5 hrs. You might take it out then and think its still a bit liquidy.Don't worry as when it cools it sets more, so nice and thick. Remember to take cinamon stick out before you eat it and that will be enough for 3 servings.

Gonna make a bit more next time, and keep some for brekkie, and add some chopped banana.

Right, off with me now to work.
