From Maximus to Minimus - coming soon!

Thanks for all your support - sooo nice. I had kind of hoped Sarah would be along and been a bit un-nice and give me a kicking and some home truths.

I've had a chance to weigh up the situation, and to be honest, I thought I'd be in for a massive loss - after all it is what I've always done after a large gain.

It's almost like an old fighter trying to relive former glories, or going to the well one last time and finding it is now dry and other assorted clichés.

But..... as I said to Sarah, I couldn't have done any more than 100% for the week (food-wise) and was not physically able to exercise, so short of under-eating and therefore doing it wrong, I can't blame myself, and therefore can at least stop beating myself up about it.

Perhaps it was natures/God's way of telling me I'm not a machine who just has to want something and it will happen?

On the plus side....and there are a few lol, I love a challenge and the 10lb in January one looks massive! 10lb in 3 weeks? - but the biggest plus was afterwards, the thought of a chippy tea (law in the north remember) or Indian takeaway briefly entered my mind, but I also knew I had a chicken salad, hifi bar and yoghurt to se me through to another 100% day.

So Frosties (5 syns) and part hex a (125 s/s milk)
cappuccino (2.5 syns)

Chicken salad with homemade coleslaw (2)
Hifi bar (hex B) apple, pear and banana

Weetabix hex B and other part hex a (125 s/s milk)

Chicken salad, salad cream (2 syns) laughing cow (hex a) and ryvita (hex b)

Makes it a 100% week I think!

Hope the physio visit tomorrow morning gives me renewed enthusiasm;)

Well I was going to be unnice about it and tell you to put your dummy back in, but i didnt want to step on Sarahs toes ;)

I promise I won't be nice!

But you're right - all you can do is carry on with the 100% eating, and wait for the timing to be on your side.
You also need to wait to be able to do more exercise: don't go risking anything by trying to do more than your body's ready for.

I know you like a challenge, Steve.
Maybe this time the challenge is to stay positive and stick with it when it doesn't come as easily as it always has.

Pooh!!!
I'm not allowed to rep you for that post Sarah
But if I could, I would x

I've done it for you Dawn!

But back to this blumin' phone discussion.
Why do you need an android or an iphone anyway? Why not just have a phone?

Like Sue, I'm a techno-peasant when it comes to phones. I have a mobile phone that I can make calls on and send the odd text.

If I want to look at the internet or all the other crazy things that people do on their blumin' phones I have a device for that. I want to see proper websites - not just cr*p cut down versions. And if I want to take a picture I do it on a blumin' good camera! One that will give me fantastic definition and depth of field and the ability to blow it up to A3 if I really want to!

Sorry - having worked in IT for over 30 years, and at the bleeding edge of it for the last 3 of those years, I am not against technology. I managed the whole of an Internet banking site (for a mjor high street bank) for 2 years and having to develop crap systems just to deliver to bl00dy phones really peed me off! But my argument against them is that we seem to be heading in a "technology for technology's sake" direction. I really do not understand the addiction!

**rant** over - I'll slink out now! And hide :hide:

Steve stay away from the samsung phones the slow and tend to crash A LOT!

Pommette, i must admit i do prefer a good old computer however as i work extremely long shifts its helps me having the internet on the move, so i can do things that otherwise i would have to wait about 30 hours to do!

Morning Steve, I can see why you're frustrated but defo think you should not undereat! You are skinny anyway! Don't panic!

Oh I see you are planning to have weetabix as a snack meal - I like that idea! I may well pinch that - will check how many syns in weetabix if not using for a hexb.

Have a good day xx

Morning Steve,

Hope you are feeling a bit better about your STS this week, but I am a firm believer in that what you do in WI week is reflected on the scales a week later, if that makes any sense.

So here's to your well deserved loss next week!

Like I said last night Steve ;) you will have a big Whoosh next week :D and yes I do still scare myself :8855:

Keep the faith young man......keep the faith x

hi steve good luck for weigh in next week, not that i think u will need it as i'm sure it will be a good one :) don't be disapointed at a sts obviously not being able to exercise is going to make a difference, looking at how far you have come the last few month's put's it into perspective ;) have a good day love val xx

Fair point Sensible Sarah (did I really type that!) - great news is after physio this morning, I was given the all-clear/green light to "step it up" and can even go walking, so long as it is on the flat, and no climbing/steep hills.

Had to do some stretching exercises including hanging my right foot ver the edge of a step and putting my entire body weight onto it - I did it without pain - She was impressed and said I was ready to go:D

That alone made me feel more positive about the next week.

I've done it for you Dawn!

But back to this blumin' phone discussion.
Why do you need an android or an iphone anyway? Why not just have a phone?

I used to think like this Bev - and I'm a gadget nut! - I held off for a long time - all my mates had them. Why do we need them? - well, as you say we don't. Neither do we need a camera, a satnav, gaming machines, or even the internet, but..... there is something comforting to know you have these. As Emma said, having it all and having it now is of maximum importance.

Remember I can receive (and have) important emails on top of Cairngorm Mountain in Scotland. How long might I have been expected to wait to get to a PC to receive said email?

I get text and internet alerts as a birdwatcher sent immediately so if I am in the field I can find them. If I got them later at home, the bird has gone. It may be technology for technology's sake to some, but by the same token, if the technology's there why not use it?

Remember not all websites are cut-down versions, - you can use the internet in the normal way. If the screen is too small on an iphone for instance, then you buy an ipad! (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it)

Steve stay away from the samsung phones the slow and tend to crash A LOT!

Hmmm might be an interesting one that Emma as the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the main rival to the iphone at present and I'm about to jump!

By the way folks, regarding my well-being and morale. When I spit the dummy, it tends to be back in after a few minutes. I'm not as destructive as I once was, so I'm sure I'll be sticking to fit plan rather than chip pan;)

To prove this theory, I think today was another 100% - I say think as I never shopped until tonight so was scraping around for ideas.

Breakfast cheese on toast (hex's a+b) + banana

Lunch - chickens breasts (2x small) with tomato and cucumber slices - run out of salad stuff lol) packet of french fries (5 syns)

HIFI bar (HEXB)

snacks pear, apple

Dinner - chicken salad, salad cream (2 syns) muller light and then as I really felt like more crunch another packet of crisps - this time Walkers Baked (5 more syns)

12 syns in total 10 of them on crisp treats(rounded up) but, that's what they're there for right?

It's also good to have a spare of all your technology stuff, isn't it, Stevie Boy.

So that when you tread on it, or drop it half way round your walk, or leave it at home, or forget to charge it.... you've got another one. Even if it only works for half of your trip, and you have to estimate the rest...

Well done on another day on track!
You will lose this week.

Ah - now I don't decry things like ipads. I personally don't have an ipad but I do have a fantastic notepad that weighs 1 kg that I take everywhere with me in my big handbag (advantage of being a girlie) when I don't expect to be back within 4-5 hours. Yes I get text alerts on my phone and if it's important I open my notepad and hook up to the internet.

Now that is using technology in the way it was intended imho!

And I'll stick with a digital SLR camera any day! Actually I'd still rather have a real SLR with high speed black and white film in it, but I do know for most peeps that is beyond the pale!

Just a thought, could you increase your super speed food intake whilst you're less mobile? Also the number of Syns? We were told this week by our consultant that the Syns actually go along the lines of:

10 stone and under - 5 to 10 Syns
10-20 stones - 5 to 15 Syns
20 stone and over - 15 to 25 Syns

However roughly it is whatever you weigh in stones equals the number of Syns a day so if you're 11 stone then 11 Syns.

Apparently the reason most consultants just say 5-15 Syns to all people is because they need to keep people's weight secret and so of they said 12 Syns to one person and 20 to another it would be obvious how much people weighed.

Make what you want of that, but just an idea. I'm hardly able to advise when I seem to be binging and putting on weight rather than losing it!!

Evening/morning Stevie! :wavey:

Oooh I've had the bestest night!!! ;)

How satisfying it was to see a Quinn (x15) get a spanking!!! :whoopass:

You'll be fine Penny, your comfort eating is understandable, Earrache and toothache are amongst the worst pain. As I said on your thread, try a nip or two of scotch or brandy to ease the pain - synned of course.

I'm happy to stick to my 5-15 syns as it has served me so well thus far, and just because it isn't working at present, doesn't mean it won't again. It does show the absolute value of body magic/exercise, at least to me it does.

I'm just going to accept if I sts while I get my BM back up to speed, I can get it off later. Staying on plan is the main thing, and I do plan to be 100% for the year! - my greatest challenge yet!!!

I'll be keeping my eye on you lol....
