Your very welcome clara. the last thing i want to do if pass my negative energy on to others... your doing so well. have a great weekend x

Of course it doesnt sound like a lecture:) Thankyou, i really appreciate your words of wisom. Yea i have been quiet... just done a post in the main forum actually about how im feeling. I do look at how little way i left to go and its not far away at all. I hate feeling like this and i feel hungry often! i get rumbling stomach and im drinking my 4 litres of water a day. I have no energy i feel really down. Sorry i dont want to make everyone else depressed reading this xxxx

Aw baby, 16lb little pounds thats all you have until you reach that goal, I actually believe you will smash through it really soon. Its natural to feel down, look at me I am like a rollercoaster constantly! Its ok to feel emotional & low you have been starving yourself of calories and I actually think the blip hasnt helped your mindset as it will have given you a taster for things to come, which has probably made you feel even more deprived than you did intitally!

Honstly hun, dont hide away from her, there is no reason for you to do that, we are all in this together and will support you all the way chick! You totally inpired me along the way, you kept me on track and showed me this really did work and I could get to where I want to be, come on lets do this together and hit those goals hunny.

Gonna miss you whilst you are away, have you decided whether to do total or lite whilst away. I am going away the beginning of August I will probably be in RTM, but if I am honest I will probably drink because its that kind of holiday lol xxx

Hey Gem, sorry to hear you are so down at the moment, you really have done so fantastically well. I just had a thought, not sure if it will help at all, do you have any clothes left from 'before'? You could try them on and just have a really warm glow moment when your brain realises just how far you have come. You should be proud of yourself! ;)

I cleared out my wardrobes and loft today of clothes that are now, happily too big, it was refreshing and reinforced my will to get to to goal, then RTM. I figure it will be Christmas before I finish altogether. The thought of it being that long, is overwhelming.

Some days the whole LL diet takes over my whole brain, it can be all consuming, every minute of every day, with a relentlessness about it.
I know we are losing weight with LL, but sometimes I feel I need a break. So, to avoid temptation, I plan in some 'treats' for me. The weekend is the time I go swimming, there is also a jacuzzi there, which I just love and look forward to.

I'm away this weekend and next weekend, so the little 'breaks' break the boredom and routine of LL.(I will stay on plan!!) It's also something to look forward to.

Not sure if any of this helps at all, but I do really feel for you.

Stay strong, you know you have all of our support.:grouphugg:
Jx

Yeah, good advice Julz. Doing LL ia a big commitment and can be all consuming, but imagine if you were doing a more conventional diet - how long would it take.
VLCDs are ideal for those of us who consider ourselves to be "all or nothing, black or white" thinkers. It seems to suit our way of dealing with life.
The psychological aspect is a bonus and gives us insight which helps to re-evaluate our whole relationship with life and food.
Yes, we all have struggles and slip backs at times - proves we are human!
But, Gem. You are not giving up, you are still here and we are here to support you.
Stick with it.You are doing really well. xx

Agreed SB, I along with most people here have tried loads of other diets and not kept it off, or it has taken forever to lose some , got disheartened on the way. This decision to do LLT is a huge one, but the CBT is the winning factor for me, as well as the shakes! LOL!
No decisions to make re food, until your ready, then supported with the tools to achieve our goals, its the only way for me!

Aww thanks so much.. and its certainly a lesson learned. Also i dont know if u have read my post about ketosis and drink flavourins al;ady says by not using water flavourings improves her weight loss... ????? arrrrgh if its tru wish i had known it at the begining! x

Thanks Cathy! x

isnt it terrible i cant even think was week im in!!! i know im on day 6 but i have no idea what week!!

Im going to Turkey on Thursday and am VERY concerned as i have had a a lapse (s) this week and another a month before! my plan was to stay 100% abstinence but im so so worried i will slip...
all of my lapses have been binge eating the wrong foods so its not like i am having a tasty chicken salad or something along those lines... its a full blown pig out! I feel as though i have learnt nothing from CBT if im honest!
Yes i reign myself back in after a lapse, but i cant go on like this can i...... its getting ridiculous... i really need some advice on coping mechanisms for my hols... im getting quite Panicky about this xx

Also im so close to getting into the 11 stone mark and i keep setting myself back... my last WI was 8 days ago and i could have easily shed another 3lbs or more already but ive ruined it!!!

Gem, saw the water flavourings comment! I have a pot a week, it doesn't seem to make any difference if I am honest. I only know this because the odd week I forgot to get it my losses were the same! Looking at your high losses I don't think you should worry, if it helps the water go down more easily just have it, this plan is hard enough without it being anymore difficult.

As for your concerns about lapsing, the first thing you need to do is remove that thought from your head, turn it into a positive! So you could think, I am going to have a fabulous holiday and enjoy my cool shakes in the sun ( or something similar) remember thoughts become things!!! If and this is a major if you face the dilemma of eating, go for the yummy chicken salad with a little dressing, preferably low fat! Make wise food choices that will less impact your losses, I'm only saying this as I didn't wanna ignore your plea for support.

I have every faith in you! Xxx

Gem you haven't ruined anything. You have achieved 5 1/2 stone loss over 19 weeks, which is brilliant.

The upcomming holiday is throwing you off track major league and you have made a selection of choices that are not what you had hoped them to be. Not great as you are disappointed in yourself but not the end of the world.

Now what to do ? You could dwell on your poor choices and beat yourself up, causing yourself in all likelyhood to say knickers to it and eat more. You could go for the total abstinence bit as originally planned, or you could find a plan to negotiate a middle road somewhere inbetween and re evaluate where you are at post holiday.

Only you can decide what you want to do, and also what is realistically achievable for you. Holidays mean different things for different people. Minerva mentioned something in one of her recent posts saying:- what ever choices you make about food you will have to pay for them later.

Some decisions I have made involved eating and comming off plan. I was happy with that choice, but I did have to pay for it later. Getting back into Ketosis was a bit of a struggle, but my comittment to the plan and achieving goal never wavered. Some of us are able to go through the program 100% abstinent, some lapse whether it is planned or unplanned.

Hope you find some peace with what ever choice you make. thinking of you xx

Dear Gem
Don't panic! You are not a failure and there's no reason why your lovely holiday should turn into a time of mental anguish and torture!
Your holiday is to enjoy. Maybe also to reward yourself for the hard work you have put into doing LL so successfully.
Think about it - you'll sit comfortably on that plane :airplane:
No worries about seat belts or squashing the person next to you.
You can go swimming, wear nice summery clothes, not be too hot or puffed out or embarrassed by the pool or on the beach.
Enjoy yourself, be proud of your achievement and the new you:character00180::gen157::mermaid::character00117:

Only you can decide how you are going to approach this time:
Will you stay abstinent? You can if you are determined.
Will you go Lite for your holiday? Just have a light meal in the evening? I've been to Turkey. it's quite possible to have grilled lean meat and a a salad followed by fresh fruit.
It'll be hot, you'll want to drink lots of water.

One word of caution - when people choose to come out of abstinence, in my experience, they find it very difficult to get back in the zone mentally and physically.

Try not to keep worrying that you won't be able to do it. Make your decision, make your plan, tell whoever you are going with and ask them to help you stick to it.

Most of all - have a wonderful holiday and celebrate the new you xx

Good advice there SB x hope you are feeling well post op x

I totally agree with SB :) Make a plan and you will be absolutely fine. You enjoy your hols, you are doing so so well and you deserve to enjoy your holiday whether it be on Total or Lite, or whatever you decide. It's tough at the end, I was really struggling but now I'm on RTM I've got fresh enthusiasm again. When you get back from your hols just see it as the next phase in your journey.

I am sensing you a big virtual hug re. Your post about real friends. I just know that now you are finding a new confidence that you will start to meet new friends. Perhaps you could join a group (exercise or something). I met one of my vest friends on the Internet - after we both had out kids, on a mum site! Who's to say that sone of us won't become "real" friends!!!! Where do you live? Xxxx

week 20 day 7 ( i think!!! well thats what my personal record book says anyway!)

You ladies have really given me some 'food for thought' excuse the pun. I am gonna reply to you on a whole, as i think then i dont keep repeating myself to each one of u what my pklan of attack is...lol

Ok i have decided my main plan is to stick to total .... if i do begin to struggled i may throw in a LITE meal adn have 2 packs a day... Im hoping it wont come to that, but we will see.
( also if i have lean meat and salad, what do u suggest meat wise? and also shall avoid any sauces, i am asking this so to cover my own back if i do feel the need to Lite it up!)

u al! offer such great advice and kind words and iv said it before and i'll say it again, i appreciate it no end :) u have no idea.

My suitcase is packed and its is filled with things that id never dream of wearing in a million years, and im so happy about this! i must also pack my blender!

thanks Lady T SB and ummzakaria!!!!! xxxx

(also go WI tommorrow :( )

Hey it won't be the same around here when you are away!

I generally eat a lot of chicken to be honest, but White fish is another good option or tuna. As for sauces or dressings be careful with them as they can be laden with calories, if you need one ask fir it to come separate that way you control what you have. Also don't go from one extreme to another, so if you eat that's fine but try to do it sensibly and have 3 packs like on lite, if you just have the two you may feel deprived otherwise and possibly start picking or worse still fall off the wagon!

Drink plenty of water too!

Good luck at your WI. Xxxxxxx

Lean grilled meat or fish, you can't go wrong. Chicken breast is probably the lowest in calories, don't eat the skin.
Try and avoid any thickened sauces e.g. white, pepper, mushroom, creamy. Don't choose fried stuff or pastry. Omelettes are good.
If you do choose a sauce then a tomato based one would be best.
I would suggest no sauce, just ask for olive oil and lemon if you want to add dressing or moisture.
Greek type salad will be everywhere - healthy and good, just take it easy on the feta cheese.
Steer clear of the bread.
My main advice is try not to make yourself anxious, chill, relax, enjoy the sunshine and your new clothes.
Don't forget you will probably be exposing more flesh than you've done for ages - so remember the sun protection and drink plenty of water.
If you do decide to have a little wine then alternate it with a glass of water.
Most of all - have fun and enjoy.
Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. xx:cool:
