Gill SW diary -green days

It actually turned out really well. It was changed last minute to a carvery :)

I had the vegetarian option with was a roast butternut squash then unlimited veg and the veg looked like it had no butter on which was great (though I did save my syns up just incase). Had a bit of tomato sauce on the veg and a bit of mash but apart from that think it was pretty healthy :)

Wish more places did jacket potatoes in the evenings and salads. Most places I go to seem to do them for lunch but stop serving them after 5pm.

I do too Gemma, they are so nice! I love chips with mayo and ketchup ;) my husband always has something really big like mixed grill and ends up passing me his chips, not yet had to turn them down as we haven't been anywhere for a while where he has had something with chips, but if we did I am not sure i would have the willpower

How bad are chips? Could you have a couple within your syn allowance?

WI day tomorrow, getting scared again haha. Really need a good loss as I haven't yet had one!!

Wednesday

B - mushy pea curry

L - vegetables, cottage cheese

D - veg, sausage and bean bake, cheese HEB, feta HEB

snacks - almond milk HEA, options hot choc 2 syns, protein bar 2.5 syns, apple

I thought I was a mushy pea addict but not for breakfast :)

I'm sooooo upset!
i think my scales have broken as this morning I weighed a few things, 11.8, 11.5 3/4 or 11.4 1/2 but I did it a few times and the first figures came up a few times but the last one (the only one that is a loss not gain only showed once)

I have no idea what I am doing wrong and am running out of time now before June. I'm so upset, I really wanted to be slim and feel less insecure and confident on holiday.

I can't see anything I'm doing wrong, not going over my weekly syns, loads of speed foods, I don't have potatoes, pasta or rice everyday and when I do have them I have more veg than anything else. Feeling so down now and don't know what to do. If I take the first reading Ive gained 1/2 a lb in 5 weeks of doing this.

Are your clothes fitting any different - did you measure yourself when you started? As I don't have scales here I measured the day I started and knew I had lost when the numbers were a little different last week (then I got weighed last Friday for the first time in 5 weeks).
Do you put the scales on the carpet - my MIL's scales are terrible for giving different weights and I have had to put a mark on the kitchen tiles where to put them. (hope she has not scrubbed it off whilst we have been away:) )

How about getting weighed in - say - Boots at the same time each week. It wouldn't matter you had clothes on as long as you wore the same ones each time so you could get an idea of any weight loss.
I don't know anything about how SW works so can't help with the questions - sorry.

Gemma - I have emailed Asda and asked if they have changed the nutritional value of the pitta bread or have they not changed their website. Had a reply back this morning to say the will have a look and mail me back. Hopefully they will have an answer to the reason why.

Thanks both,

yes I did my measurements and they are the same, no change in my clothes either. It's a bit difficult for me to get to boots at the moment as I can't drive because of my leg but hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to. I weigh in the bathroom on the tiles and weigh in the same place each time (facing the same direction too haha).

It sounds to me like you need to get a new pair of scales. I've had to exchange 2 sets of electronic scales for the exact same reason and now I just have a mechanical pair. They aren't great if you're counting every half lb but they are a lot more reliable.

Don't despair just yet. Have you thought about maybe joining a group? Are you at all mobile? If so see if there is one bus/walking distance away. I think it could be a good option for you as then you'll have support/advice and someone to go over your diaries with. You'd also have some reliable scales :) xx

If you do think about going to SW group there is a free joining coupon in this week's Woman mag - saving £10 and valid until 30th April

Thanks hun. I'm still on crutches at the moment so can't get to group. Ill give it another week and see what happens. May try having less HEs then its more like extra easy incase its green that doesn't suit me. Will also replace the batteries in the scales and see if they are better. Once I get back to work there are some big proper scales in works kitchen that everyone uses, very accurate. Hope to be back in 3 weeks.

Thanks Systema, I really don't want to join a group as I want this to be something I can do by myself. I also work with a SW consultant who checked my diaries for me last time but she couldn't find anything wrong either. I seen to only lose weight if I don't eat much at all. A few years ago I lose loads by just restricting my calories and using them only on protein shakes, porridge and veg but it wasn't sustainable long term :( don't want to have to try that again, really wanted this to work for me.

Thursday

B - sausage and bean bake

L - salad with feta HEB and cottage cheese/bean cake made with butternut squash

D - made a few things as we have friends coming over. I will have a bit of salad, spinach lasagne 1syn for the sprinkle of Parmesan, lentil and cheese loaf HEA
