Gobolino's Food Diary - converted to ww now!

Ha ha, thanks! Yes, I think you're right an early night is probably a good idea :)

Ooooops monday morning, not a great start! Peaked at the scales and they are showing 11 10.... a couple of days ago they said 11 5 !!! Grrrr. I need to stop scale hopping.

Today I've had to come into work at 6 (as I car share), wont actually start till 7. Enjoyed my breakfast and then felt worried that I'd not brought enough food for the day and went to the vending machine (doh!)

Monday:
B- 28g oats, 7g sultanas, grated apple, grated pear, milk from 350ml, l/f natural yog, cinnamon and 6 walnut halves (HB HB 1syn)
B (take 2)- 3 jaffa cakes (7.5syns) and a nom cherry yogurt ( :( no idea of the syns for this)

D- 2 mugs of stalk soup (probably have one at 11 and one at 1pm), trying to plan as I knew I had a longer day in work

T- not sure yet.

snacks- rest of milk (HA), melon, pineapple, apple, small banana

I'm thinking of heading to the leisure centre tonight for a spa. I really dont feel like doing a class. If I get to the spa early enough it'll be quiet, I can relax and then pop to Aldi later on to stock up on yummy sw friendly foods. This could be a good plan I think, at least it'll save me being in the house on my own eating food (hubby has had very busy 15 hour days since sat.... last one today).

I really cant start on the melon and pineapple I've brought with me, I'll have nothing left for snacking on later!!!!! Best get on with my work :)

Oh dear why oh why did you hop on those scales !! Especially as it is * week . Try to stay with it for the rest of the day. I do know how you feel as the melon I have bought to work for me today looks like it may have gone off and I am panicking about food as well. I had to be at work at 8 but with my car all packed for a group tonight and won't be home until 9.30 !

Just try and relax and do the bst you can

Teresa

Thanks! And thanks for your message yesterday too :) Its a gain tonight as yesterday I fell off plan big style (first time its been a big fall off since I started at class). Will report back later on.

I gained 3lb this week. Its official, having goals does not work for me. I'm off to have a re-think! Perhaps just sticking to plan will me more of a goal and target than the numbers (which just drive me mad!). This week earlier in the week I weighed 11 stone 5lb, later on I weighed 11 12, weighed in at group 11 13. I'm fed up of numbers, I need to focus on something else. I'm not sneaky peaking anymore I'm so fed up of doing it that its getting on my nerves!

Here's to a good week all :)

I hear your frustation AND i understand it. I think you are so right goals just feel like pressure and fear of failing makes it so hard.

So a few thoughts for you

1) the 3 pound is not a true weight gain as i doubt you have had 10,500 extra calories this week and isn't it your star week

2) you know sneaky peaking derails you so why not do something liberating and get rid of your scales :)

3) Have a think about reasons for losing the weight and reasons to stay where you are now make a for and against list

4) Make a list of all the things you love about SW all the meals you can have and make a list of them breakfasts, lunches and dinners and keep them handy for weak moments

5) be kind to yourself

big hugs

Teresa

Oh poor you, I'm just catching up on your diary and it sounds as though you've had a really tough week culminating in a disappointing weigh in:cry:. I soooo sympathise, the yo-yo-ing does your head in and is massively frustrating.

Sounds as though you've not been helped by scale hopping ... I'm with you on that at the moment and am also stepping away from the scales this week as they are just bringing me down and we have to stay positive about this thing.

You are obviously struggling with star week which is skewing your result so try not to read too much into it this week (easier said than done I know). Derbynanny has done an excellent list to help keep you sane - I'll probably follow it myself. My only advice in addition would be - if you fancy a bit of something just have it. For instance dried apricots seem quite synful, if you would rather have chocolate you can get something decentish for 6 syns and maybe that would help keep you on the wagon.

Better get your pen out, draw that line under last week and start afresh without thinking too much about it. Hang in there, going back is not an option after all you've done so far. Chin up chick xx

Thank you both so much for your support. I do need to get rid of the scales, perhaps I’ll put them in the attic for the month of July (hopefully a whole month should be enough to break the habit!). Yes, I think I should have had a measured amount of chocolate when the choc craving arrived J You have given me a lot to think about – thank you !

I am feeling really positive and as if I’ve had a break through realising that certain types of goals wont work for me. I do think SW fall down a bit by making you set a target in a number of pounds each week…… this is really hard because you can never account for other things that affect your weight each week (* weeks, hormones in general, toilet issues, levels of fluid on weigh in day etc). So asking me to set a target when my weight seems to be affected quite a bit by a lot of things, is a bit unrealistic. When asked how much I want to lose next week I’ll not be setting anything in terms of pounds, it will be a goal of how many days on plan (that I am in control of!!!!!!).

Other strategies for this next week (which I can pick and choose) are:
1. SW chips when super hungry/stressed/in need of comfort
2. A non-food treat if hubby works on Sunday/ this could even be placing a book order on book depository
3. Aim for 2 classes at the leisure centre this week or start running !
4. Keep syns to an average of 10
5. Shake up the healthy extras or a red day/extra easy here and there
6. Get rid of the scales
7. Make lists, lists and more lists! I love making lists of things that I like to eat, its great for reminding myself of all the food I love, so I’ll definitely be doing that.
8.

You sound in a good place. Do you know instead of setting a weight loss mini target with slimming world you can set an action target? Ask your consultant about it? It could be no sneaky peaking, eat more fruit, mix up my healthy extras in fact any of the things you listed your consultant can put in her pda.

I implore you to make the 1/2 syn roulad, i just made it but with a twist a 5 syn choc roulade HEAVEN !!!! Feels so naughty but is super filling (although i did eat half)

Thanks for that, I will ask my consultant. We have 4 weeks of cover coming up as she'll be on maternity leave, but I'll mention it to the others too. Will have a look at making the roulade on the weekend, sounds like a lovely syn bargain :)

Today has gone well. A rare red day:

Breakfast:
All bran (42g HB), banana, milk from HA, cherries

Dinner:
Egg and tuna with 30g light salad cream (1.5syns), large salad, plus leaves

snacks:
milk in tea (HA), apple, pear, melon, twiglets from multipack (5syns)

Tea:
Prawn and veggie stir fry with courgette, peppers, beansprouts, onion, broccoli and 1/2 pack of blue dragon sweet and sour shot (3syns)

snacks:
HiFi bar (HB). I've just realised I have another HA to play with so I'll be having some cheese or a latte later on..... I'm very happy about that! ***I had a latte and a low syn choc muffin (2syns)***

Looking good! I really do think red is the way to go for weight loss. I might investigate doing it myself so my carbs are more measured. Looking at your menu today - how can you fail to lose weight?!

Now and again a red day is good but for me it takes so much more planning as I dont eat meat. Plus I really enjoy green days, so I guess doing a red day makes you appreciate the green even more :)

Shock horror- I've been for a run this evening !!!

(3mins run, 2 mins walk) x 3, plus 3mins run

When I started running last year, I managed 3 months and then injured my knee (probably from tackling hill running). I roughly remember building up to being able to run for about 5 or 6 mins and walk for 1 and repeated this up to about 30ish mins. So todays attempt wasnt a bad starting point at all really, I just did what I could and completed a little circuit that I thought would be do-able. I'm pleased.

Saturday 2nd July: will update later!

Breakfast
1/2 a Canteloup melon (ss) followed by 28g oats (HB), (milk part HA), l/f natural yog and a grated apple (s)

snacks
apple (s), banana

Dinner
Batchelors pot shot (I think it was called), not very nice 1.5syns, had to put cheese with it!!! (28g HA), broccoli (s)......plus cottage cheese and large salad with lettuce (s), tom (s), cu (s). a slice of orange and rosemary cake (7syns), this does have sweede (s) in it!, shape delight (5syns), 35ml Pimms (4.5syns)

Tea
Possibly stuffed peppers (s) topped with mozzarella cheese (HB), will make a stuffing with savoury rice, chopped onion (s), celery (s), sweetcorn and peas (ss). I'm tempted to make a tomato sauce to go with these too, using chopped tomatoes (s), garlic and basil.

Snacks
2 bran choc muffins (3syns -I've subtracted 1 syn as one scan bran will have come from my HB this morning)

Total syns= 21
Exercise= 45mins walk, 1hour body balance class, 30mins Wii zumba

Good work indeed on the run - well done! I always make a tomato sauce with stuffed peppers - it goes very well and I think the rice needs a bit of moisture after being baked. Enjoy!

Thanks both! Well my stuffed peppers were lovely and so was the sauce :) Even hubby is enjoying SW meals! Forgot to say I had them with SW chips too.
