Grrrrrrrrr! Right, slight ryvita overload due to stress in work. I've eaten 10 this morning !!!! Thats 2 HB +8 syns, so I havent messed up my day (YET!), but the rest of the day needs some rework.

What a fuss over ryvita eh !

They are the multigrain ones. 3 for a HB and 37 calories each....... maybe I could say 2 HB's for 6 of them and then 37x4=148 =7.5 syns ?

Definitely a waste of syns either way you look at it -ooops :)

Thanks for your support through the ryvita struggles. Good news- I've managed my day and it didnt turn into more binge behaviour :)

Fridays plan: Big baking session planned for tonight so mustnt go hungry and must plan a strategy. Even a 12th of the icing for the cake is 9 syns, so I cant afford to even lick the spoon :)

pre-breakfast- 100ml vegetable juice (1syn)
B- melon, pineapple, red grapefruit

snacks- Hifi (HB), milk in tea (HA), apple, banana

D- Egg salad with mixed leaves and crunchy salad bits (carrot, cucumber, celery, radish, spring onion, yellow pepper). Yoghurt with a passion fruit squeezed into it.

T- probably wedges, beans, spinach

followed by 2 low syn muffins with chocolate buttons (4syns each, so 8syns), these can be eaten before and during making the icing for my cake. Also by making these I have an alternative to eat while others are eating the high syn cake (Nigellas chocolate Guinness cake).

Other A's (28g cheese) and B's (Hifi)

9 syns total :)

How did the baking go? I have made lemon drizzle, butterfly cakes with tons of buttercream icing and flapjack and not had even one sneaky lick !!!! I am now waiting for the tesco's man and then i will run and have my treat xxx OOH he is here hope you are doing well Teresa

The tescos man now thinks i am mad. I had two odd butterfly cakes that looked oh so good as they had so much yummy looking buttercream icing on them but would not fit in the tin so were tempting me. So i gave them to him . Now off for my run then home for a treat :)

Ah thats really sweet, I bet he was pleased with the cakes! Probably a welcome treat, I bet he doesnt get cakes off all his customers :) Hope you enjoyed your treat - woooo hooo well done on no tastes :) I'm pleased to report I've managed too. The guinness cake is cooling in its tin and the topping is made, its too late in the evening for me to be tempted now, plus I'm tired ! I'm visiting family sat/sun and have prepared some savoury rice, bought some pickles etc for sun lunch buffet. I've chopped up melon and pineapple, bought apples and banana's.

Two more tricks:
* I have a feeling a take away curry will be ordered on sat night, so I've bought a sainsburys channa massala (4.5syns for the whole tub).
* I've made the low syn muffins with chocolate buttons (4syns each) to eat while others are eating guinness cake.

Phew ! Just updating the diary. 9 syns today woo hoo :)

Hello - it looks as though you're doing a good job this week. I'm impressed you could eat that many ryvitas, do you have anything on them or just dry? You really are a healthy extra fiend aren't you!!

Is the channa massala in the chilled section in Sainsbury's? I'm always interested in low syn, minimum effort / cooking things like that!

Hey Beegee

Yep the Channa Masala is in the chilled section, its in a square tub (alongside the other side dishes like the bombay potatoes). It is the best. I'm happier to have that than have a proper take away one as it doesnt have a load of oil swimming on the top. To be honest some people may find that half a tub is quite enough but for me if I have the whole tub it means there's less room for the Naan bread (which I guess is a similar principle to food optimising!).

I am a healthy extra fiend indeed. The first two ryvita had sliced banana on top and then I was on autopilot with the rest, no topping required. I'm still learning :)

Hope you have a great week.

Monday:

B- 28g oats (HB), 14g oats (3syns), two small grated apples, yog, skimmed milk (part HA)

snack- strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants (still picking out of the garden which is saving me a fortune), low syn chocolate muffin with chocolate buttons (4syns), HiFi (HB)

D- quorn bolognese with sweet potato wedges and salad, latte and piece of cheese (remaining HA and full HA), low syn choc muffin (4syns)

snack- yog with passion fruit and redcurrants

snack- apple and banana

T- SW wedges, spinach and baked beans

1 hour, 30mins walk. (20mins of that with heavy shopping in a backpack on my back!), housework all day (6 loads of washing, whole house hoovered, lots of tidying!)

snack - another chocolate muffin (3syns this time as they are made with 4 chocolate buttons each instead of 8).......tempted to have another one. At least I'm better off having 2 of these (6syns) than 2 HiFi's (12syns) which was my alternative. EDIT- I had two
total=17 syns

Mmmmmm tonight could go either way, in terms of staying on plan but hopefully by writing my thoughts on here and keeping busy I'll stay strong and stay to plan too..... I've just heard from a friend that she's expecting next year and I'm really happy for her! A part of me just feels sad (well I dont know if sad is the right word) that its not us, I do wonder when we'll have one of our own....... feeling tearful now.
