Going it alone....

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO 9lbs :superwoman::superwoman: there's no stopping you now well done :)

Your tea sounds lovely hun, I keep hearing about these Joes sausages but looked like you had to order a fair bit- we seriously need to eat some food out of our freezer before I would even think about ordering. :)

Your brunch sound nice and you sound all geared up for the trip to your mums, hope you have a good time hun xxx

You + superspeedy soup = AWESOME result! :worthy:xx

Thanks ladies :)

I'm really empowered now, I have to say though, the support from you girls has meant such a lot to me. I don't feel comfortable talking 'food' with anyone else.

Managed well at tea time. Declined the rich homemade gorgeous lasagne with garlic bread, and had new potatoes, joes burger and a mountain of salad. I also swapped the home made trifle for yogurt with fruit for pudding.

I'm now enjoying a couple gin and slims to congratulate myself xx

Yeah you have to order a minimum of 8 packs. This comes to around £30. I do feel its expensive, but every now and then to stock up the freezer it worth it. The meat is really lovely. The syn free sausage is like no other, and the chicken and pork steaks don't shrink like supermarket meats do, because they are not injected with water. I've got a code from them to get 3 free packs of meat because I was honest when I reviewed someone else's HUGE order as well as my own, that was lovely of them to send me the voucher :)

I woul suggest asking a friend Togo on the order with you xxx

I might do a Joe's order myself soon, though last time I ordered stuff I fell off the SW wagon and stopped eating the stuff and most of it ended up in the bin

Not too bothered about the sausages tbh but the grillsticks and marinated meats are lovely, I've forgotten all the syn values though lol

Hope your mum is making some plan-friendly food today, what's she doing having lasagne on weightwatchers :giggle:

I know what you mean about talking food with friends family, I do but not to the extent I do on here.

Hope you enjoyed your Gin and well done for all your healthy choices :) sounds like you are doing fab.

Maybe I can ask mum, about an order...will see how we go, they sound lovely though. Lochan, we could do an order if only we didnt live about 5 hours apart :)

Hope you have had a good afternoon.

xxx

It's not just the distance, neither of us could do the alone travelling even for the sake of saving money on sausages

Hope your week is going well Alison x

^^^^ that made me giggle :) xxx

Can you imagine the news story "Jibbering wreck of a woman found on train clutching a bag of defrosting meat mysteriously labelled 'Joe's'":D

Oh girls,

Save me, I fell of the wagon big time :( and I'm only in week two!!!

All the time away from home + my period arriving BIG TIME + a fall out with my other half = 4 days of total distraction.

WI in the morning and I'm really upset with myself. I missed you all, and I knew what I was doing. Just used it all as an excuse to eat rubbish!

Hope you are all well xxx

:bighug:

Being away from home with not much control over your food is tough let alone adding other stresses on top. Don't beat yourself up about it, it doesn't take away from your amazing first week loss and you know that if you put your mind to this you'll do brilliantly.

Get your WI over tom'ow and if it's a disappointment you can have a max of 5 mins of feeling sulky then you draw a line under it and get back to it missus. You're back here now and I for one will be around to cheer you on :D

Looking forward to some tasty food diary entries xxx

Oh thank you so much :) that's lovely. Dreading the morning and I'm actually quite poorly (a bug off the kids) but tomorrow is a new day xx

No worries, that's what mates are for innit? :D 'scuse the Manc lol

Are your little'uns back to school tom'ow too or do yours get 2 weeks off? Look after yourself xxx

Hi Alison, it sounds like you've done so well to get through such a tough time in your life. Onwards and 'downwards' (weight loss speak, of course!) from now on :)

Can I give you my very new experience of SW?

I went to one meeting in 2011 to motivate me to shift a couple of stones before my wedding. I was positive about SW's principles, but unmotivated by the consultant so never returned, but managed to lose almost a stone at home over a long period of time. I put it back on after the wedding....

The consultant was sacked from her position a month later, due to complaints from existing members.
Anyway, I still never returned as I live 5 miles from the nearest town in a country village with a rotten bus service (never had a desire to drive til we moved here!) and putting my toddler to bed when hubby gets home leaves no time for popping out to meetings so 2 weeks ago I joined SW Online and it is AMAZING.

I was disappointed not to find a local group with a morning class and saw the Online option as a last resort as I believed group member support was massively important, however the Online facilities more than make up for the lack of bodies in the room!!

I love to cook, but lack imagination and the boredom of making the same meals was tempting me to slip into the pattern of eating what I fancied at hand.
online SW has a drop down list of meal options specific to your red/green/ee day so you don't even have to think about it.
there are also HUNDREDS of recipes.
until yesterday I never looked at the body magic options, but when I ventured there I found challenges like a walk round central park in new York or the inca trail where you just choose your excercise of choice and then do that amount of miles over a period of time you choose.

I now think online SW has so much more to offer than a group, after all, you spend more time in your own company than you do with the support of fellow slimming world members so you need to rely on yourself for your motivation the majority of the time :)

Good luck x

/\ Hmmn, tbh I'm not getting much out of SW online other than the syn search/calculator and the hexa/b lists. You get just as much support/recipes/exercise etc out of minis for free, you just have to do a bit of looking around :)

I won't be bothering to renew my subscription once the 3 months is up as for what I get out of it, it's not worth £20 a month  Each to their own I suppose...

I suppose it depends entirely on the time you have to spend to "do a bit of looking around".
With a business to run and a toddler to raise, i need things that are quick and easy to find without having to think too much about it.
I'm sure there are many people in the same situation which can sometimes be the reason we put on weight in the first place - not having time to think about what we eat and prepare it.

I've been using minimins for a while and for a free site, it is great, I absolutely agree, but I just haven't the time to be looking for the right thread and topic with recipes or advice about excercise that suit my lifestyle.

For me, the great thing about SW online is that the site is so easy to navigate and everything is to hand immediately without having to spend time searching for the right thread or topic.
Type in one or a couple of ingredients you have to hand on SW and they will find you a recipe.

If you're making use of the site to its full capacity then it is worth every penny.

Ah cool I'm really pleased the online membership is working for you :) I've tried it in the past and struggled with the pack of group support.

I'm personally finishing minimins the best source of support for me as its on tap 24/7 xx

...oops (poppy)

Could be much worse considering I'm on a big nasty monthly, and the stress I've had.

Anyway back on it today. Still not very well so skipped breakfast. Made up for it at lunch. A smash vegetable pizza with hex A of mozzerella, muller yog and banana.

Just sat in the garden and planned my weeks meals xx
