Half marathon training

I am signed up for the bath half marathon on 3rd March 2013, so scared!

Just starting the BUPA half marathon training for beginners - have done 2 10km races so hopefully this one will be fine!

I'm doing Reading on the same day.

Hannah, I'm exactly the same as you. I'm semi-successfully completed two 10ks (both were fine but I wish I'd trained harder) and now training for the half.

I'm soooo happpiiiieeeeee!

Just done my first 10k! Ok so it took 75 mins but I'm thrilled. Was aiming to follow the run 5 min/1 min walk method but I only stopped to walk twice and then ran from 17 mins to 75 without stopping!

Bet that's gonna hurt in the morning!!

Fear of sounding dense, but is it round the track?!

yeah it is, my brother did it a few times

Bath is down the road from me, but it's hilly so not sure I could do it!!

The bath half is renown for its flat route! It's in the valley not up the hills!! Definitely worth a go!

Really??! In that case, I'll do it as it's literally 15mins away! I love bath, such a lovely city but quite a few hills so assumed the run would be really tough?! :)

Gutted its the same day as Silverstone, as id have done it too-I love bath

Not sure whether I can post the link lol can't remember the old rules but if you look on the bath half website the course information says it avoids all the hills lol wouldn't have signed up for it otherwise!!!!

the blackpool one ive signed up for is pretty flat too, its one of the "easy" half marathons..... not a single hill.
the preston one had a hill, right at the very end. the person who chose that was evil.

Hi all

I've looking to do another half marathon around February/ March time, preferably in the North (I live in Newcastle), but can't seem to find any good ones. I'm happy to travel a bit, but probably no more than 3 hours away, as I remember the pain of driving back home after the Great Birmingham Run! Where do you all look for to find races? I've tried the Runners World website....

Have just looked again, and the one on the 24/02 is the Great North West Run! But following the same route-how odd!! Oh well-more options I spose x
