Helen's quest for good health!

Food looks good Helen, ouch to the big needle, is mark there to look after you?? X

Sounds like a bit of an ordeal Helen, hope you're ok now and Mark's looking after you x

Mark's looking after me, he's a goodun.. They kept asking if I was okay and I was trying to keep grinning but slipped a few times.. Grin and bear it! X

Aww you poor thing. Sounds painful. I've been having acupuncture in my hip and that's bad enough but that needle sounds horrible.

Hope you can rest tonight. Food looks yum

What is eastern salmon by the way?

X

What's the acupuncture like? Is it doing you any good?

Eastern salmon is 1tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp honey & 1/4 tsp Chinese five spice (I think! Apart from the honey I just bung what I think is enough in!), mix it together in a baking dish, roll salmon fillet in it to coat it, cook for about 20-30 mins on 200c (skin side down if its got skin on and it's easy to pull it off once cooked).

It's nice hot or cold, first time I've done it with noodles, usually have it with salad, cous cous or new potatoes x

Yep he's looking after me, tried not to look at the needle but kept looking at X-ray screen thinking the fluid isn't supposed to be going there! X

Not liking the big needle... Hope you are ok... Sending hugs...xx

I'm fine thanks hun, not been on here to catch up with diaries so hope your hospital appointment went well x

Salmon sounds lush Helen. I do mine in a little foil parcel with lime juice, soy, little bit of sweet chilli sauce. Like you say skin slips right off, and so so yummy with noodles. I'm proper into Asian style foodage. Hope you get a good night sleep and feel better tomorrow x

Glad to hear Marks looking after you Helen :D
That Salmon sounds delish I must say xx

I've been cooking it for many years as its so easy and versatile it's a fail safe x

That's sounds good, think I'll give that a go sometime, how long do you cook it for? About 20ish minutes?

Not quite sure I'm going to get a good sleep as alarm set for 3.30am but some sleep would be nice! X

Yes about that, as soon as I start to smell it, then I give it another couple of mins and it's ready, pop a wee bit of lazy garlic and/or ginger in if I'm planning just to use the juices as a dressing for my noodles. Merry 3.30 you brave woman x

If you slip the skin off and crisp it up both sides it delish...I saw Jamie O do it and thought yuck....but hey....he's the chef and it works its awesome

Never thought to use the juices as a dressing, great idea x

I think Mumma is talking about crisping the skin up to eat?

I've only had 3 pins in my hip at a time so it's not too bad. Feels funny and initially hurts when needle put in and moved about but think it is helping. I went private because nhs physio didn't really help and could only have a certain number of sessions.

I like the sound of eastern salmon. Will try that!

Thanks x

Morning Helen... Hope you feel a bit more your old self today... Nasty hospitals don't half pull us about... mine went ok, still waiting on the date for my colonoscopy but a lot better than I thought... Will pop back later and see how you are doing... xx

I see what you mean now! I thought she meant chuck the skin away, might try that x

Glad it's not just me the physio isn't doing much for, good luck with the acupuncture x
