I've been on various boards trying different diets and failing, so I'm going back the 'old fashioned' way of calorie counting.
Am using My Fitness Pal to log.
It says I should be on 1200 calories (I'm 14.6, 5'6" and sedentary) but I'm wondering if this is a bit low? I seem to run out of calories quite easily :8855:

Sounds about right if you've set your goal to lose 2lbs a week. If you're struggling, change your goal to lose 1.5lbs a week maybe?

You can always get extra calories by exercising if you're able! Even a walk every day is good if you're struggling on the calories it suggests.

Otherwise I agree with Bostik, change your goals to either 1.5lbs or 1lb a week and use that as your calorie allowance. If on some days you go under your calories then that's great and it's far more motivating to be under cals and set at 1lb a week than over them when you're set for 2lbs a week. Good luck.

I don't go by weightless goal as I find it's not an accurate measure anyway lol I've never lost what MFP predicted yet!!!

I set myself 1400 and call that extra 200 my 'spares' :) theres a bit extra there if I need them but I'm not feeling like I failed when I come in at 1201. It's sort of comforting knowing that if I'm hungry or if I make one bad choice the day isn't going to be ruined :)

I put 1300 for the same reason, gives me 100 spare and really isn't going to break the diet is it! Like Bostik said, maybe if you want a little more, change the goal to 1.5lbs and it'll give you a higher calorie allowance.
