Hi guys. Just reporting in with my first post as a married woman
I'll be taking some time to read through and catch up on what I've missed.
Sorry I was too busy to update before shooting off to get married, but just to report that the week ending 14th August I sts (hoping to get 200g off to regain my 3 stone sticker before the big day but twas not to be). Didn't weigh this week, as I was still away, so next weigh in is this coming Friday.
I'm hoping to limit the damage, but fear the worst since getting married to a French man in France meant 2 wedding cakes - a British one, made by my sister in law, and a French one from a local patisserie. For anyone who doesn't know, a French wedding cake is a tower of profiteroles, filled with custard, "glued" together with caramel and mounted on a nougatine base, which is a bit like nut brittle. See here:
Google Images or do an image search for "pièce montée mariage" if you really want to drool
And we almost ate the lot- with a little help from the family!! Just a small amount of British cake remaining, which I have hidden from myself in a drawer.
Will post some pics when I have time
xx
