Hey

Hi Sal, was did the actual quorn taste like, or could you not tell from the pepper taste? I've tried a few quorn things, the mince is ok from what I recall, but the burgers, well, they definitely weren't for me!!

Hows your weekend been?

I've managed to get in a couple of swims which I'm really chuffed about, and last night, we went out with some friends, but instead of a meal, we went bowling, and had a "ball"!! It was so much fun!(especially the game I won (fluke!))

from what i could taste past the pepper (and flames shooting from my mouth lol ) it wasnt too bad. bit like grill steak. the burgers are not for me either. bit like flavoured card :( mince is nice in a bolognaise and the chicken like fillets are nice. my favourite thou is the minty lamb style steaks. very nice.

my weekend as been good. got some good walking in today and stuck to good meals all weekend. oh i love bowling. not been for years. think its something need to do again. well done on the win :D

ooh - must try the minted lamb steaks! I love lamb, but since we moved, I've stopped eating lamb - having them in the field at the front of our house made me think twice about having them!!

Aye, the burgers are like badly flavoured card aren't they!! I'll try the sausages too cazjane - I think I'll wait until theres an offer on quorn stuff then buy a few!

My competitive side really came out last night, but we had a deal that for every strike, we had to throw some Zumba moves by the lane, so I had a good work out too!! I haven't been bowling for a long time, and really enjoyed it, will definitely be doing it again very soon!

if you have a morrisons by you they are on offer there 3 for £5 at the moment. so got the blow your mouth off steaks, lamb ones and the red onion burgers (not tried the fresh ones only the frozen ones before) aww dont think i would have lamb if had a little one in a field near by that i could see whilst eating it lol lol

I love the quorn stuff too, the sausages are ok, but not great, not something i would go mad for, but in a sauce they are fine!! got the burgers just not tried them yet. I would love the minted things i love anything like that! Think i might do some curry with the chicken quorn stuff tomorrow!!

Passiflora I had to chuckle, when I moved to north Wales I was vegetarian my downfall is lamb.....my house is within 60 acres of sheep, I help my friends when it's lambing time....but I gotta eat it too....the meat I buy is organic and it's gorgeous !
Never liked quorn and I tried the sausages other week and threw them.....not for me at all.....

Sall glad you had a good weekend.....and I hope everyone else has had a good one :):)

oh i couldnt give up lamb or chicken for anything. think lamb is my overall weakness meat wise :D

booboo - I'm not surprised theres plenty of sheep near you in Wales!!!:D:D

I've had to rescue them from my garden when two of them wandered up the public footpath (only after they munched on my flowers), and even herded one up the lane!! When I finally managed to get hold of it, it was a tough choice between Sunday lunch or re-uniting it in the field with its mum - thankfully the latter choice won!!

You know what it's like in those chinese restaurants where you can pick your fish - I feel like that with lamb!! I do love lamb, my favourite meat, but I just can't do it!

woke up this morning with a massive craving for roast lamb and all the trimmings :D

making myself hungry too lol only problem with a joint of lamb is its hard to find a nice lean bit

i was just thinking that :) my next treat is march but going away so might treat myself at easter :D

Sall if you go to your local butchers and ask for a lean piece of lamb they will sort it for you.....my butcher is great !! (he is on ww)

Passiflora I find if you take a potato and mint sauce outside the lambs soon get back to where they should be lol :)

will have to try that i think. never use my local butchers enough as it is.

been a bit naughty tonight and had a club bar :(

You normally find your butchers do deals so you can bulk buy and also you know what your getting is decent.......I tend to use my local farm or butchers and greengrocers......there are no temptations ...I don't come out with more than I wanted...I stick to my shopping list ...I decide at the beginning of the week what I'm eating for each day of the week .....I don't buy any foods that I'm not allowed to eat so I don't have the risk of a naughty nibble.....I threw everything out that I wasn't allowed.....
