So...holidaying expertsI need something to aim for for next year!
If you were looking for a family holiday somewhere sunny, not too much travelling, with a pool,with walks but no too high up or out in the sticks, not too many tourists some culture but not too overwhelming....... where would you suggest?
We've been to Thassos a few times, which ticks most of your boxes, the only one it may not tick is the traveling, Thassos doesn't have it's own airport so you fly to Kavala & then ferry to the island, it can also work out a little expensive. I'm also thinking maybe somehwere in Spain (need to think more on this) perhaps inland which is just off the tourist area's, then you will get some culture, it's not too far to travel & you'll get the walking. A few years ago me & OH stay just outside Barcelona (I think it was called Vilanova Geltru) & traveled around by train, we went to Barcelona, Figures (where the Dahli museum is), we also went to Monseratt which is amazing, we stayed on a camp site, there was walking nearby & the local buses were very cheap.

I'm finding it very confusing as there is so much choice etc and I've not done it before. Not got fb at the mo but thanks bet you have some amazing pics!
Hubby and I are also going to try and fit a trip to Paris in as we didn't get to go there while we were in France and thought it would be nice if the 2 of us just went!

There is so much choice for holidays, that's how I've managed to get the next 4 years holidays planned!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you know I've got a list of places I want to go to, so I just look at what is next on the list & try to go there, but the recent knew addidtion is Rio, after seeing their bit at the Olympic closing ceremony I really do want to go to their opening ceremony.
Our weekend was really very nice, thank you. On Saturday we went geocaching & then stopped off for lunch at the pub, just before it poored down, in the evening we went for drinks & a curry, then yesterday we went on SVR stopping off on the way to Bridnorth & dining on the way back. The dining car was very nicely laid out, with table cloths, nice crockery, silver service, it was much better than a party

I looked at Monseratt and it looks amazing but not sure about going there with the kids maybe in the future when just me and hubby can go! Loved the huts you can stay in there!
I was born and brought up round the Severn Valley and have family there so its strange to think of people going there for a break lol but might be worth remembering the dining etc for any family celebrations that may come up.

Ooh..what's your list? Need some more inspiration! I do have a world map that has pins where i want to go in it, there are more white than black though, i need to go to more places!!
Geocaching, everyone is talking aout that, i think i might have to look into it as i don't really know what it is...

Geocaching is brill, we've been places we've never been to before even local walks & trails we'd never ventured on before, it is good fun.

I am so so ready for it, especially after the torrential rain today. It seems like a lifetime away since my holiday last year! Now only 4 more sleeps - I'm like a child at Christmas

Cuba was amazing, you'll have such a fab time! We went there on our honeymoon 3 years ago.

I've got a weekend in South Africa so a few of the girls from the marketing team over there are going to take me out. I've been promised lions - which I'm really excited about! I went and bought a new camera last night so I can get some amazing pictures! I will bore you guys with a few when I'm back
As for Cuba - it's immense! I can't wait to be back. You should definitely go...but before Fidel goes and the regime changes because once the USA gets it's hands on it, it will never be the same xx
