I'm a wee posting wench tonight arn't I?!
You may or may not know I love crafting. I've knitted jumpers for my boy, and myself, as well as other things. His xmas stocking (and other decorations) were knitted by me, and I decided to add a trinket to attach to it each year. This year we made gingerbread together. He loved stamping out the shapes! So I needle felted a gingerbread man for this year's addition, fastened with a safety pin through the back and a loop of yarn. I wonder what next years will be. I've done a couple of needle point projects and one was to be a cushion. for almost a year it has sat here waiting to be sewn together as I've busied myself with other projects. In a craft magazine there is a gorgeous blanket/throw. I've wanted to to make a throw for a while, but I don't like knitting in acrylic, the yarns I like tend to be rather pricey. but this has patchwork with granny square pattern crocheted round it, then the several pieces made up into the throw. It looks lovely and I adore Tilda fabrics ( Tilda Winterbird, duck egg bird rose fabric value pack x 6/ christmas decoration | eBay ) see? beautiful. And as always with me, quite pricey. for the Yarn for the crocheting I have quite a supply of a lovely cream colour, and some blue as well, I think I may do a third colour in grey, just to contrast it, not sure yet. Anyhoo, it is still quite pricy. SO it is my 5 stone award present! 6lbs to go, and cheaper than buying more clothes that won't fit in my wardrobe. hehe. I also would like to make one for my son in this pattern (cath kidston) 10 CATH KIDSTON FABRIC SQUARES - 10CM **MINI WHITE COWBOY** | eBay Alternatively I have a similar design in a needle point book that I could make and make into a cushion for a chair I'm thinking of getting him for his birthday.
Best get slimming so I can start sewing! and learn to sew in a straight line!
