How to lose half your body weight in 10 days (Or a bit longer!)

It is like a collection of numpties. So much fun. My ankle is rather sore now and my hand is swelling up and turning purple. whoops.

Away from tapastrophe (great word texty!) and on to food.

B: berries, yogurt, smoked salmon and scrambled egg on (heb) toast
L: goan potato soup. - review, less chilli, I blew everyone's head off, I added peppers too because it was pretty lacking in superfree. tasty enough and very easy.
s: banana
D: chinese lemon chicken (big thumbs up and cleared plates) (2 syns), rice, stir fried veg. Yogurt
s: apple

I have stuck to my smaller plate thing and I am on 50 syns for the week with just Tuesday left. I have used milk as my hea but have only had two cups off tea.

Go Away Flab!

I saw a recipe for the lemon chicken in the mag (can't remember if an old or recent one...) that used egg and lemon juice for the sauce and think I'm going to try it. Or was yours different from the book? Xx

It's ok, it's gone down in one patch and swollen in another now. haha. I'm a knob and left the books downstairs, so this is the recipes from memory, I will check in the morning.

Goan Potato soup.

fry light
1 large onion, roughly chopped
750g potatoes, peeled and cut into bite size pieces
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
2 tsp black onion seeds
1/2 tsp tumeric
2 tbsp curry powder
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
750ml vegetable stock
4tbsp natural yogurt
100g spring greens or cabbage

1. spray a large saucepan in fry light. add the onion, tumeric, curry powder, black onion seeds, garlic, chilli and 175ml water for 4-6 minutes.
2. Add the potatoes and stock and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
3. Chuck in the cabbage and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Take off the heat and stir in the yogurt. Add an extra splodge of yogurt when you have dished up. You can add spring onions and more chilli, but for some reason mine blew peoples head off...

chinese lemon chicken

450g chicken cut into thin strips.
2 level tbsp cornflour
2 cloves garlic, crushed
3 lemons, zest and juice
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely diced
3 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp sweetener
175ml chicken stock
1 egg white
3 spring onions, finely sliced

1. mix the egg white with 1tbsp of the cornflour in a ceramic dish, mix in the chicken strips and make sure they're all coated, pop in the fridge for 30 minutes.
2. Spray a wok in fry light and heat until smoking. Removed from heat an add the chicken until turned white. Remove and set to one side. Wipe out the wok with dry kitchen paper, respray with fry light and return it to the heat.
3. Add the lemon juice and zest, the soy sauce, garlic, chilli, sweetener, stock and the other tbsp of cornflour. Bring to the boil, then down to simmer. Return the chicken to the pan and simmer for 6-8 minutes, stirring until sauce is thickened. Serve garnished with spring onions. I served mine with rice and stir fried veg. The quantities given will serve 4 at 2 syns per serving.

I think that is right :) I dunno if it is the same as in the magazine. It is from the new asia book. Tomorrow? filapino pork adobe.

Aww thanks hun, it was mighty fine. How are you doing?

I snaffled 2 biscuits and 2 bgty sausages so I'm on 56 for the week now. An average of 8 syns a day. I had best lose this meek. Grr. Else it will have taken me two months to lose 1lb :(

Breakfast was sausages, Bacon, an egg, 1tbsp beans, onion, mushrooms and tomato on the obligatory small plate. Having chicken and roast veg for lunch (in the oven now) and filapino pork adobe for tea. So I don't anticipate any more syns. I saved my heb for a cereal bar tonight. Using my Hea on milk but I have only had one cup of tea so far.

Been working out what furniture I can have when I move :) so far all I need to buy is a loo roll holder, a towel rail, a toothbrush holder and a soap dish holder. Woop. Haven't listed the kitchen yet though, boo. My Grandad said if I wanted anything for the house to let him know and my kum said I wanted an airfryer. Lol. True but so cheeky. He sent £25 for nate's birthday which I'm using towards a toy store thing with cars on, and a matching bookcase. So the cheque is going into the pot mum is holding on for me, which is just over £400 now. I'm going to check through nate's old clothes that I have already packed up and iron, photograph and sort into sets and start trying to sell them, because although they are cute, I really don't need them. I will give his old pram and car seat a good clean and list that too. I bought it off eBay and got it super cheap, it still has a lot of use, especially the car seat, and even if I just get £50 for it it saves moving it with me and trying to store it somewhere. Quite excited to have decided to do it now. And once the clothes have been sorted into sell/charity shop and not for resale I can put the not for resale with my ragman stuff and finally give him a call to pick it up. That'll be a few more pennies, not much but it is better recycled as insulation than it is going to the dump.

I'm silly. I will want to do something. Um and ah for months until I am really ready to do it. It seems like wasted time and I am terrible for wanting to hoard stuff, and I feel so much better after a clear out, it is just I seem to need that extra time to really be ready to do it.

You are getting very organised! I prefer to recycle clothes/ shoes etc than throw them away I think its such a waste. I pop what I can on eby but some things are good enough for selling or charity shop.

How's the hand today?

Hand is a lot better thanks. Ankle is still a bit sore and I can feel where the bruises are going to come. How are you doing hun?

Not organised at all. I just dwell on stuff for ages, then I make a decision of "just sod working out what is best, we are doing this!" I might grab a few bags worth to sort and iron and bring the ironing board and iron up to my room and do some tonight depending on the atmosphere downstairs. I might just do more embroidery.

Filapino pork adobe got a big thumbs up from me, mum and nate. Dad hasn't tried it yet.

Hi Hun. Moving is so exciting :) especially the shopping bit :) x

hey guys. I don't really need to buy much. Hurrah for my mum being a bit hoardy too. And her OCDness came in use today, she got the floor plans for my new house. I am surprised she hasn't stolen a high-vis vest and hard hat and gone in for a mooch yet! Quite excited I get a bonus room upstairs as a little store/study. It is tiny though. Then mum piped up with "it could be a walk in wardrobe!" aaahh. It looks like they might have built in wardrobes too, which would be handy. I didn't do any ironing. I ate a twirl (11.5 syns) and did some embroidery. Super addictive. It's like colouring in, but with thread, and unlike needlepoint I'm not developing a rash!

My home scales are showing 15 st 3lbs (last weigh in was 15 st 5.5lbs) so I am hoping home scales are right. WI in the morning. BE GONE FLAB. Then I will eat cake. Nate was MUCH better behaved today so he got some birthday cake after he had seconds of dinner! He did try to use some felt pens (for toddlers, non-toxic and super washable) as lipstick when mum was watching him as I was getting dinner on and she was in the lounge.

Haha scarlet, it was fine :) I don't think my ankle will bruise, I'm waiting for the one on my thigh to come out properly. I think it will be pretty! mum and I keep laughing about it. It is confirmed I am Miranda (hart). Trance thing sounds kinda odd. what caused that?

the filapino pork adobe was surprisingly good. when i read it needed 100ml of dark soy sauce I was a bit worried, but it was lush. Nate liked the potatoes and shallots best. he was chattering about potatoes before I'd even sat down with mine! I used a casserole dish instead of a wok with a lid because i don't have a lid for the wok. So if you fancy that recipe too scarlet, hun just let me know. I can't remember if you liked pork or not. Trying another dish from it this week.

This weeks evening meals are:
Roast chicken
creamy minty coriander chicken curry
prawn and fennel pasta - or fish if there's something nice
stew
Roast lamb
BURGERS (got a super hankering for them)
A dish from the Asia book I have completely forgotten the name of. *thinks* chicken yakitori! nomnom I really want the japanese pork curry... really I want to go to wagamamas and eat everything there, including their cheesecake.

Hi Sar! Yep I'm a complete moron and really clumsy... and greedy. I have been confined to smaller plates :( my mum said it doesn't count if you pile it up and staple the food on... so cruel. It totally counts. If I thought I could get away with it I'd have it like food jenga.

Got to see that damned health visitor tomorrow. Urgh. I'm half hoping he won't start chanting "old lady" and half hoping he will. HA

Morning Fran!

Good luck for WI lets hope your scales match SW ones and you have a loss that is so deserved.

Your diary is fab hun and always makes me laugh you have such a way with words. You are not greedy or a moron as for the clumsy but well I think we all are at times.

Good luck with the health visitor, lets hope Nate doesn't do his chant although I did really laugh at that bit. Also lol'd at your Mum walking round site with a hard hat and high-vis, from your description of her, I can totally see her doing that.

Hi Fran. Good luck with WI today. you deserve a good loss. Fingers crossed your scales are right
