Mandy - I'm in Thornbury so Long Ashton is my closest Parkrun I think. Maybe after R4L when my confidence is up! All this talk of 10k's (and half marathons!) is very inspiring - I'm definitely aiming for the next Bristol 10k;)

Just out of interest Pinkie, how do you manage a lunchtime run, as it's something ive always loved the sound of, but the logistics of going back to work after has always put me off!
 
I do lunchtime runs - I have an office job in a big site, they have shower facilities so its easy - I also have flexible working patterns (card swipe flexi-time) so usually no need to be back at my desk at specific times, and I can take a long lunch break if I want as I've clocked out for it - so i'm using my own time.

Might be a bit different if you had a job where you had to be back at specific times, or you didnt have shower facilities.

Sunshine runner -didnt realise you were quite local to me - I'm in Westbury on Trym. There's also a Forest of Dean parkrun which is probably reasonably close to Thornbury-I'm lucky that I can walk/run/cycle to my closest parkrun - I always think that driving somewhere to do a run kind of defeats the object - but I suppose for a specific event like the parkrun it makes a bit more sense.
 
Hi Sunshine Runner. I have a similar situation to Mandy really. I can come and go as suits/fits around meetings. And the changing room facilities are excellent. I've just got back from my run now and feel so good for it. I feel like I could focus better too. I'd love to get to a point where I could do it most days I'm in the office. Only trouble is, I tend to let my hair dry naturally as it doesn't go well with hair dryers, so I'm now sat here with wet hair. Ah well, its dress down day, and no meetings, so I don't suppose anyone cares. :)

Anyhoo, another 3.5 miles down and I'm past the halfway mark. Yippee!

Just done my longest run yet - 8 miles!!! Really didnt feel like I had another 5 in me, so still some work to do before the 1/2 marathon. To be fair, there were a couple of pretty steep hills in there which drained my energy somewhat, I think the marathon has a much more level route.

Also, did a 40 mile bike ride yesterday (it involved a free bar at a local brewery so not exactly a fully healthy experience!)- I suspect that may have made me a bit more tired today.

Still - 8 miles!!!

Just a quick early morning run for me - off to Glastonbury soon and too excited to sleep, so thought I may as well do something healthy before 5 solid days of beer and food.

Probably wont get a run in for a while now, but I've packed my trainers so who knows - may fit in an early morning run on site before it gets too busy! (Extremely doubtful)
 
Still coughing and head banging so I went for a quick walk at 630 am to remind myself how much I like being our there. Ran for about a minute before I died! Lol. Maybe next week eh? I have a lot of caching up to do! X

5k in 33.02 mins - NOT impressed at time but sooo glad I've finally done a 5k and I'm still standing!
 
Sunshine runner, the time is fine! Especially if that's your first 5k! I did my first 5k in 33 mins too :) don't know what I am doing it in now, as I dont own a watch lol Did another 3 miles this week and will probs do more at weekend!

Gone a bit quiet on here - too hot to run?? I've just come in from a nice evening (nearly) 3-miler - first run out of doors in ages and felt fine!
