IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

hot cross oatbran muffins? nom nom. Is there fruit in it though?
omg i love hot cross buns dripping with butter. (sorry Jo)!

Me too!! I was letting my imagination run riot - they are just ginger muffins! - but you should see my Dukan oatbran cinammon dagel:D

I do miss dried fruit.

Lol do you have a pic of your dagel?
im not fond on dried fruit apart from in hot cross buns ;)

That low carb maple syrup is nasty!! A friend brought me some over from the U.S. once. We threw it away after a few years cos no one would eat it! Haaaaa! (Mind you, I don't think I'd like ANY maple syrup...).

Smiling at your carby buttery talk in my clean Dukan thread... so clean am I at the moment that you couldn't trip me up if you tried! When I saw the word "hot cross bun", I thought "oh yes - memories" and couldn't give a fig! (Can you now see why I choose to stay in ketosis? Sooooo easy!!).

Mouse - those HC buns freeze well - leastwise the Sainsbury's ones do. In the U.S., you can get a sliced loaf of [whatever hot cross bun mixture is]. My friend used to always pay me for looking after her cats in it... LOVELY! (Freezes well too!)

Morning Vicks... and all...
Nowt to report, except a rainy early morning which scuppered my plans to walk to work... I did manage a splash through puddles towards the end of my journey, mind...

bloomin rain eh? its glorious here this morning!

Glorious here now... but too late for me to go astomping!! And by the time I've finished my penance here, I'm too weak with exhaustion! hihi!

LOL - forecast is rain for 5pm here and for all night!!! typical

Morning diary... going to be busy now for a few hours so thought I'd write here at least... computer problems this morning at home, so couldn't get online grrr.

Good weekend foodwise. Not great healthwise (me = bunged up dose AGAIN; relative with terminal cancer doing badly... puts former gripe into context...)

BUT I had a gorgeous walk on Sunday. Saturday, I do a 1/2 hour stomp around the cycle lanes closest to the house (she says as if she's been doing this for years - just three weeks and proud of it!!). Sunday, however, I go further and this weekend, unsure whether one of the lanes which veers out to the left would curl back on the village, I took it anyway, vigilant that after a certain time I'd simply turn back if it didn't. Anyway, as I was walking through completely empty fields of course, I spotted some hay stacks up ahead but kept looking around in the sun (sunglasses on!) and as I got closer to them, they raised their heads and looked at me. 7 deer. Beautiful. I stopped. They looked. I looked. They ran! Little white marks on their bums! Awh! Anyway, I kept walking and the path curled right towards some trees where I saw a Mum and baby. They didn't run. I stopped and turned back on myself so as not to frighten them. Beautiful!!

No issues on the old food front. Made two meat loaves - one chicken mince (+ mushrooms for moisture, onion, egg to bind and NO fromage blanc cos we forgot to buy any!!)... Less herby than last time, cos my mixture was weird and it was "better"... However the 5% fat beef mince one was FAB! Love it!

See you all later - at lunch if not before

Hey Jo. sounds wonderful seeing the deer especially the baby. ill pm you got loads to tell :D

Sorry to hear about your relative, Jo. I know what you mean about something like that putting things well into perspective.

How wonderful about the deer, though! I love it when you come across wildlife unexpectedly. Seems magical, somehow.

Sorry to read about your relative, Jo:(. Your walk sounds lovely though, we often see deer around here, but never a crowd of them.

Well done on the good food weekend too.:)
