IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

If the jeans are fitting better, then I suspect that all of the exercise has toned you up. As the others have said, the tape measure might very well make you smile. Besides, muscles weigh more, so you've probably become leaner, even though the scales are showing a very slight gain.

You may not think it, but it certainly sounds like you're making progress to me, Jo.

The jeans are new (to me, at least: bought by a friend for herself but too short for her - M&S per Una 14s with stretch), so certainly no weight loss there.

Tape measure doesn't work for me as I can measure whatever I fancy seeing by pulling a bit harder... (excess skin... lotsa)

Just a quickie - I fed "smoked chicken" into My Fitness Pal and it's come back as being VERY carby... so I'm staying away (this weekend at least) and you guys probably shouldn't follow me either!! (OK it's ok in France, but many things you have aren't so perhaps they balance each other out, perhaps not!!

So err on the side of caution and don't bother with what you've never known!!

how can it be carby Jo - whats in it?

I don't know Vicks... just typed it in and it gave me 12g carbs for 75g (3oz)... obviously a UK brand, but French probably same - who knows! Might be my "problem" all along?

Morning!
A good weekend in that I stuck fast to my menus and avoided cheese. I also walked 25 mins Sat and 45 Sun through the pathways in the open fields (minus 8°C Sat, minus 4°C Sunday!).

Seeing "nasty" looking turkey in the supermarket, yet chicken breasts on offer at same price, I opted for the latter, minced them, made a meatloaf (onion, garlic + fromage blanc + egg + chilli + lots of herbs (fearing blandness, so made a weird mixture) - very "dry" texture somehow... nicer cold actually. Ate too much of it mind... probably not over onioned + garlicked for PP too.

I also made a smaller one with 5% fat beef mince which was infinitely nicer textured (and taste). Not much left of that either!

Still - no deviations - just a heck of a lot of food ;)

hey Jo - I prefer meatloaf cold too!

thats the good thing though girls, if we are hungry we CAN eat :)

We can - just best not weigh in on a Monday then! (I managed not to peek! It always irks me!)

Disaster... Marks & Spencer are reopening a store in Paris this year.

I've always given partial credit to their closure here for my initial big weight loss...

LOL, M and S have some nice low carb stuff jo :) (but not those meringues with chocolate on and whipped cream - yes ive been thinking about them all weekend ;) )

HI Jo,

congrats on the good weekend! I had one with lots of baking and tried to be as restrained as possible! (one small blackberry crumpet and one white bread roll, not together though!)
M&S: ah how long have they been gone then? I can remember there being one in Brussels (we used to buy prawn-flavour crisps/skips(?) there) no idea if that survived / is being reinstated. Surely plenty of ready customers waiting...

I've been interested in that new "Simply Fuller" range they've been promoting (m&s that is)

they reckon it's high protein/balanced carbs....have been tempted tbh :)...just as well I don't have an m&s locally...their food is too tempting :(

glad you had a good weekend Jo :) x

I remember that store and I also remember the devastation I felt when it closed! There used to be an old man with a big musical organ thing and lovely cats who always seemed to be outside the store.

ive looked at their fuller longer range too , dont think my bank balance will take it though
