Is anyone starting Cambridge January 2014? Lets support each other!

I really can't understand why I don't ever want to cook for myself! Have to change that once I'm on maintenance.

I love the feeling of being in control of my diet and weight, most of the time I really do enjoy the plan.

Yeah I love my job, hard work but so worth it, especially once I'm qualified! Ha that sounds amazing, I do love to be bossy ;)

I just end up being lazy. I slip into bad easy lazy habits and I need to revise my lifestyle along with my weight this time.

I've just done an exercise DVD and left out the bits that made me too out of breath...I don't want cardo, just toning. Also bought a Pilates DVD that's only for 10 min so hopefully I'll keep doing those long term.

Yeah the control of this diet is good. Short lived though as I am never this controlled with food. Irritating

Haha being bossy is so much fun lol

Current loss: 12lbs and 7.5inches

Yeah me too, I need to change my mindset this time. The plan is actually easy compared with maintenance. I didn't do the steps, and didn't even attempt to maintain last time, and ate exactly what I was eating before, so silly!

This time I'm doing SS til I get down to a BMI of 24 and doing a full 7 weeks of steps to get down to a BMI of 22. I have to build that in psychologically this time, or I'll repeat the same pattern.

The definition of madness is repeating the same behaviour and expecting a different result!

I havent done a whole day 100% Cambridge this week and I skipped my Weight Watchers meeting too. Im down to a couple of Cambridge packs now so Im going to have to decide if Im going to quit it altogether or not. The 23rd May was my date to be well in maintenance and I cant seem to muster enough focus to get the last few shitty lbs off. Plus ive serious migraine issues as a result of losing the weight so quickly so I cant exercise much at the moment. Whinge whinge moan moan etc etc. Im going to try a full day of sole source tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I was Exactly the same. I got to goal the same day as my mates wedding and ate like a horse! Then went to Disneyland Paris 3 weeks later! Then it all just got worse.

I'm going to keep going until the of July as I'm hoping I'll be at goal by then, then step up the plans gradually whilst exercising.

Current loss: 12lbs and 7.5inches

I'm medically not allowed do sole source at the moment as hunger is a migraine trigger and im at a risk of stroke when I get an attack. I spent 4 days in hospital with the worst one a couple of weeks back. Im using the shakes to supplement my diet at the moment and keep the calories down so I dont pile the whole lot back on.

Oh my goodness, that's awful :( Are you allowed to do Cambridge step 5? As an alternative that's a bit stricter than WW so maybe easier to follow but that you shouldn't be hungry on?

Ha we're so silly! I honestly felt like I didn't need the steps and that I could manage fine without following the plan properly despite reading so much to the contrary.

This time, the steps are my friend and I'm determined to not be so arrogant and follow advice that works!

That was me 7 weeks ago. Giving out about paying for food and the products but keeping the weight off is proving harder than getting it off in the first place. I cant go back though.

Have you considered doing more of a 5:2 approach?

Im in going to follow the steps but use 5:2 to maintain and use Cambridge products on the fasting days as it's just like a day on sole source. I can cope with that.

I have considered 5:2 quite seriously but I think for me it'll only encourage me to eat tons of crap 5 days a week and just stay in denial about my eating habits by using the 2 days fast to stay stable weight wise. Psychologically I think I need to crack proper normal routine healthy eating.

I may use 5:2 for the odd tune up after hols etc as its more tolerable than calorie counting.

I checked my TDEE and I sit (at goal weight) at a max of 1800 calories to maintain so it allows for the occasional splurge as long as I reign It back in. I have to change my view of food, do more exercise, cook from scratch more just for me and count everything that passes me lips. Only then will I be able to maintain. It's so tough isn't it :(

It is really difficult, but if we succeed we'll have that amazing 100% day feeling every day that we successfully maintain too! I'm trying to see it as positive rather than a chore :)

OK I'm struggling today. Already had 2 bars and some chicken!!! It's so hard in my brain to stay focused as I'm so close to goal but have to do this!!! I've been on and off for like 4 weeks now and I'm still in the same postion. I guess it could be worse, I could have gained!! Just miss food and feel fed up. Wish I could just do weight watchers or something but losing half a pound a week would send me mad lol. On a plus side I went to Miss Selfridge at lunch and tried loads on, all size 12's and everything fitted :) Come on last bit of fat, do one lol

How you doing lovely? Hope you kept strong and that you're feeling better.

Hi Jo,

I'm good thanks. You?

I didn't crumble and give in and binge but I did move up to step 3 with a mixture of weight watchers. So kind of did crumble but could of been worse I've not been eating any bad stuff, 2 bars a day with fruit and yogurt and then a sensible dinner like chicken and veg. I've joined weight watchers online so can see points ect. Will see how I get on the next few weeks. X

Total loss on cambridge - 2 stone 11lb :)

Oh well that sounds good! You have to do what feels right for your body, no point in feeling like you're punishing yourself and then going crazy with bad choices.

Hope the new plan works well for you, keep us updated!

Hi all

So I had my first weigh in yesterday and I've lost 10 and a half pounds :)

I'm over the moon but worried that it's going to be tough this week to lose much.

Did everyone still have good losses on week 2 or is it just a week when it's bound to be low?

Tasha :)

Well done lovely! From what I've seen, you can expect about 20lbs total in the first month, and a stone in the months afterwards, as some of the first week is water retention and after that its pure fat :) Keep motivated, as this plan is amazing!
