My Shepherds Pie base is braise some red onion, garlic, chopped carrot and chopped celery in Fry Light, add 1 Tbsp Mixed Herbs and a few Chilli Flakes at this stage. Once that's all Browned and softened, add your mince, I obviously use Veggie Mince but you'd used Meat Mince at this stage. Once your mince is browned off nicely add a carton of Passata (Never chopped tomatoes, wrong consistency in my opinion). Give it a really good stir and at this moment you want to add 1Tbsp of Lea & Perrins and 1Tbsp of Sweetener, this takes the bitter edge away and gives it a real warmth of taste. Place the lid on (all other stages must be done with no lid) and allow to simmer until your mince is thoroughly cooked and your flavour has developed. I use this base for Shepherds Pie but also for Spag Bol/Lasagne, only difference with the latter 2 is that you use Herbs de Provence rather than Mixed Herbs in the initial stage. X

Have u got that lol. X

When my mum cooks shepherd's pie she browns the mince, adds some chopped onion, black pepper, then some beef gravy and some lea and perrins and some tomato ketchup and lets it all simmer away :) it's yummy

That does sound yummy buy you'd have to point the mince, gravy and ketchup whereas in mine you only have to point the mince. X

Passata is what the Italians use, it's sieved tomatoes so gives a much smoother richer flavour. X

I have to agree with Serena on that one.
If it's warm cake, it has to be warm custard or cold cake and ice cream. If I'm having something like hot apple pie and ice cream, I have to either have two separate bowls or one after the other. However, it's more to do with having sensitive teeth and not being able to cope with the two different temperatures than OCD.

Wil i find that by the tinned toms then. How much do u use.x

I use the Asda Smart Price 500g Carton, it's 29p and u use the whole carton. X
