Is potatoes, eggs, butter and bananas a healthy diet for weight loss?

Hi,

I’m trying to lose weight, but want to make sure I’m getting all the nutrients I need.

I’m doing an ‘unpalatable’ diet to prevent overeating. I’m 5’2” and 52kg and am eating the following every day:
- 3 eggs (scrambled)
- 600g plain jacket potatoes
- 30g unsalted butter with the above
- 2 bananas

My husband thinks I’m getting all the vitamins/nutrients I need. Is there anything I might be missing?

Thanks a lot!

You need way more protein. If you eat more animal products and go into ketosis your appetite will decrease dramatically so you won't overeat. Bananas contain loads of sugar and potatoes are really starchy. Both of these will make you so much hungrier than you need to be. Eggs and butter are spot on however. I love them together boiled eggs with loads of butter in a cup with salt and pepper. Eat all the meat. I swear by a keto/carnivore lifestyle. It's healed diseases in me and my child. All the very best to you ❤️

Definitely agree more protein. Though I do think low carb works better with some people than other - all bodies work differently!

I definitely get the best result if I have about 50% protein, 30% fat and 20% carbs - using both meat, eggs but also protein shakes and collagen powder (which isn't a complete protein but definitely good to keep hair etc healthy while losing weight).

I generally avoid sugar entirely, including avoiding high sugar fruits, instead I eat more lots of low GI veggies. Also taking a good multivitamin and biotin supplement! And take some extra fibre such as psyllium husk if you are really upping protein to help stay regular

I keep hearing about a potato diet you can do for a couple of weeks and you are suppose to lose 10lbs.
I love potatoes so I could eat them for every meal. :)
