My sister had her 4 girls very close together. It was tough going for her. Dad use to go up in the morning to help her bathe / dress and feed the girls. But now girls are close and all grown up. All becoming nurses like me and their mum.

It is good that your motivation and will power have remained strong despite tough days.

I miss my nursing too it was so varied one day I could be in crown court, next at the police cell and another at a maximum security hospital. But ill health meant I retired from nursing. I was a psychiatric nurse working in a specialist area of forensic psychiatry. Which is caring for patient who have committed a serious crimes (murder/rape etc) but found to be mentally I'll at the time of the crime

@Susie58 I look at photographs of my adult children and just don’t know where the time has gone, I had 3 under 3 plus young teens once...that was an awful couple of years!! Having my youngest have so many extra support needs means I’ve lost a lot of parenting confidence - I simply cannot parent her like the others and don’t know how best to help her. I give a lot of cuddles, they always seem to help.
Too tired to make anything to eat. Having a cup of tea and playing Dungeons and Dragons with teens for the evening.
I’m pleased even on tough days I have no inclination to ‘cheat’, low carb really is right for me.

I'm sure you're the greatest mum for your little girl. Yes time certainly flies by doesn't it.

I find low carb is the best way to stick to plan & chocolate being my main downfall. It's now banned from the house for a while & luckily my husband can take it or leave it so no pressure there.

@purpleorc how lovely being a nursing family! My mother and eldest were/are both lawyers but very different fields - my mother was civil rights in segregated Texas, my eldest a financial one in the City.

Today I have three bulk builders’ bags of topsoil to wheelbarrow around the garden and the grass to cut, am going to encourage (insist) my son to help hahaha but do want to do the majority for the exercise. Food: L - poached eggs, wilted spinach and mushrooms. D - beef casserole with cauliflower mash & broccoli.

hey there hope your husband is feeling better. I felt ill after both my doses, each time about 12 hours later, and for about 12 hours but then was like nothing had happened so thankfully short lived.

As for your daughter it is difficult dealing with the unknown but cuddles are awesome and priceless.

I was the first person to become a nurse in my family. We have gone into varied fields of nursing. My sister and two of her daughters have worked with dementia patients. Then one niece cares for toddlers and babies. Then the other niece works with adults with learning difficulties. My mum used to work as a secretary. My Dad used to do a job at one they made munitions. Other than that we knew very little as Dad had to take the official secrets act.

ChilliQueen I still have to have my second dose but not due till May so a few more weeks.

Ugh, youngest woke at 3.30. Grizzled till we got up 4.45am. I’m okay as had early night but have headache so probably didn’t drink enough yesterday. I really MUST work on my fluids that aren’t cups of tea!
Going to our nearest wholesale nursery this morning, they have a sale on, it’ll take a while as “near” is still a long way when you live as remotely as we do hahaha. There’s no McDonalds for well over 100 miles - people always seem gobsmacked by that . Think we’ll have a walk around the town on way home and pop in to fish shop...I’m well aware how little my two youngest have experienced over the last year, I haven’t once taken them to town till now.
Today’s Food:
B - scrambled eggs & spinach
L - 90s toast & marmite
D - mushroom stir fry
Water, water, water!!!

My kids are traumatised that our nearest MacD's is about 30 mins drive lol, but I'm quite happy about it.

I live semi-remotely, a compromise of choice as I'd love to be more remote, but I wouldn't love all the driving. I like that I'm in a small enough place that still feels safe, and we can walk to school, shop etc and have a train station. It's only a 15 minute drive to nearest town.

I hadn't long fallen asleep when you were woken up Hope you get more sleep later.

Thanks @AliGal it’s not been a bad day. I know the son of the owners of the nursery, when I got there he was nice enough to replace my worn tyre for free so I made a point of buying lots of plants, everyone is happy lol. Got 4 new roses, a lovely large azalea, a new clematis, and a couple of lobelias.
@ChilliQueen semi-remote is a good compromise, I do miss trains.

We only moved in to our home days before the first lockdown, it’s being a very slow process to get it sorted. We have two quite large gardens that haven’t been utilised before; a blank canvas I can’t wait to see change over the years. We put coastal-suitable hedge plants in immediately as I need privacy in the long term, I’m loving seeing the elder, sea buckthorn, wild rose etc green up more this second spring.

Today’s food: B - chocolate chia porridge. L - poached eggs & spinach. D - 90s keto toast & peanut butter. Very unimaginative day but all soft before dentist tomorrow and need to do a food shop!

Going to treat myself to 7 2l bottles of fizzy water for the week.

Sat outside dentist bored. Worked out I’ve lost 13% of my body weight. My next mini goal is to be an overweight bmi rather than obese but that’s a long way off. So actually next will be 2.5stones off, 4lbs to go.
