It's been a month..too late than never!

Morning kensy, how's your day looking?

Hello dear dieters!

Sorry haven't been able to update my days! I've caught the flu (flu-ish kind actually)..and I'm not feeling fit enough to go to the gym twice a week. This week I didn't go AT ALL..feel horrible about it :(

Anyway, hopefully I'll recover very soon so that I can get back into my routine.

QUESTION!

Honey is usually really good when you have a flu, cold, congested nose etc..I assume I cannot take it during my induction but it really helps with the flu..especially mixed with crushed/powdered nutmeg.

What do you guys think I should do? Any another induction-friendly natural things I can have against flu or would a teaspoon of honey be fine?

HELP!

I defer to those more experienced in this woe but I'd try not to have honey if at all possible xx

And hope you feel better soon Kensy xx

Ideally you want to avoid honey - it will knock you out of ketosis and then you may get carb cravings on top of your cold:eek:

How about:
Paracetamol
Sugar free cough lozenges for when you are desperate - usually in most chemists
Hot water, lemon and splenda if you need comfort - citric acid and sweetener may stall you slightly but shouldnt keep you out of ketosis so better alternative

Hope you feel better soon - one upside further down the road of this woe - i get fewer colds than i used to - phew!
Xx

Hey beautiful people. Thank you so much for the advices. I'm definitely gonna try lemon and water. Actually these days i'm trying on tea with lemon and nutmeg which is apparently good for flu and colds...

You know how moms usually are...if they think honey is good and it will heal (which is actually does mostly) then you HAVE to have it, no matter what diet you're doing...hehehe. I love her.

I haven't touched honey yet and neither am I planning on to taking any of it because I'm feeling alrightish. Just a little congested actually and a mild headache.

Kat1e, yes I'm taking paracetamol regularly, or at least whenever I feel I should..and I think it's helping me! Thank you for the recipe, I will try tomorrow :)

I'm feeling a little better now, thank you people <3

Cheeriosxx will keep posted.

Morning Kensy, that's great stuff love, well done.

I think I've completely recovered from the flu, it never got really really bad but I'm glad it's over. I just did lots of green tea with nutmeg and lemon...it did the trick!

Diet going great...weight loss is steady and I'm losing about a pound every week on average!

Gonna get back to fitness from tomorrow on!

P.S: I'm planning on to making a cake next week SO keep checking out the forums : )

Morning Kensy, that's good to hear about the flu.

Hello!

I made whole chicken today! It was delish. Spiced with well..lots of thing including carom seeds, black peppers, salt, crushed red chillies, ginger and garlic paste, vinegar, lemon juice, another exotic masala and some thyme.

Here are some les photos de poulet : )

actually one leg broke, so it became a fractured little chicken that sometimes looked like a headless frog..at least in some pictures.

...It was yum nonetheless : )

Hey guys I have a question!

I saw these Cheese Strings in the supermarket..I'm sure what it is..cheese sticks that you can eat as a snack..i personally like it but the question is, is it alright for induction?

It said nil carbs so I thought it would be suitable..

What do you guys think?

Don't see why not. Sure the Americans have it during induction. Have you checked the ingredients....see if there is anything hidden?

Nice! Ive seen them on offer before so will keep an eye out ;)
