It's Now Or Never

Food day fine, normal life crap. My son has been, quite frankly, a little ****. I even came close to calling his father which I have never done before (mostly because wouldn't help anyway). He us now cuddled up to me watching the skiing, but I can't wait for him to go to bed. Be just went too far today. Hey ho, that's motherhood I suppose.

So food.

Breakfast- cooked :)
Mushrooms, 2 quorn sausages, 4 very thin slices of lean grilled bacon, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, frylight egg.
Alpen light bar (part of HEb)
Lunch: baked potato with baked beans and salad
Alpen light bar (other half of HEb), caramel bunny (5 syns)
Dinner: roast lamb, broccoli, carrots, sprouts, frylighted roast spuds.
2 more alpen light bars (6 syns)
Milk in tea throughout day (HEa)
Total syns: 11
Titan water: 2 pints
Exercise: none (intend to do an hour swim tomorrow)

Oh dear sorry to hear about that, what did the wee scamp do?

Well done on doing so well at SW, you seem to be getting on so well all the time! Good on you.

Oh dear - sounds like you have had a tough day, hope you get him to bed soon and get some you time.

Today's food all sounds yummy too, hope you enjoyed it :)

Just being a stubborn little sod. Wouldn't do his writing (which he desperately needs to practice). A stupid thing which escalated to the point where I honestly could have thumped him one. He did get a smack and I'm not particularly proud of that either. I don't know what he thinks he'll get out if it though. His lego figures are now all in the bin. He's had his ipod touch confiscated indefinitely. JS just gets the devil in him. But what is most infuriating, us that we have all been worrying about him, his teacher tried telling me he is borderline Aspergers (he isn't, he is just a git). And the only reason he won't write (and it is volume within the allocated timeframe, not quality) us because he doesn't want too. He's very bright, level 4 spelling and maths apparently. Taught himself to read at three, loves school, is quite artistic too. But is basically a stubborn lazy little sod, and it drives me up the wall. It just escalated today, and I'm to blame in part for that too. I have explained all that, accepted my part in it, but pointed out where he should have acted differently. But I'm exhausted now. Then I went out and managed to scrape my car on a pillar whilst parking. DJ not happy.

Other than that I'm cool lol. I am enjoying this diet. Gonna try a couple if new recipes this week. So something to look forward to there.

Thanks for the kind words though. I'm exhausted now I really am.

Just read back - loads of typos etc, its this stupid smart phone. I realise I sound like one if those pushy parents, but really, I'm not. His writing is pitiful, his teachers have always brought it up. I just worry, that he is grammar school level, and if he keeps refusing to write, he'll fail 11+ and go to a school where he's massively under stimulated, get bored and then the trouble starts. Plus that bloody minded stubbornness he has! Argh. I know I sound like I'm worrying unduly, but like I say, his teachers are raising it as an issue, so its not just me being a but precious.

Altho I have no children of my own, I think it's ok for you to be a bit precious and want the best for your son! Hopefully he will realise it's in his interest to get writing before it's too late.

Well today is a new day. Bairn despatched, in one piece, at school. Back home working. Monday is my half day at home, so a nice way to ease my way back into work (though my Project Manager is already whining - I can hear him now via email *whine whine whine*). Ahh - good to be back lol

Have stuck a curry (from the EE cookbook - spicy chicken, potato and spinach curry) on in the slow cooker, so that can now sit there until tea time. Quite pleased with my little effort there. Should be plenty left over for freezing, just hope it tastes nice. I have a mango that needs using up, and I am tempted to chop it up and chuck it in - would it still be syn free though if I did that? Maybe do it towards the end so it can mulch down as much?

It's a drizzly old day here - but am trying to get on with my work, so can finish at 1.00, then go for an hours swim, with a jacuzzi and steam room before picking up little Lord Sod-A-Lot. There is some taster session going on tonight at my SW class. Loads of people are cooking up stuff - but to be honest - I'm not really in the party mood. So I shall be the miserable scrooge who weighs in then sulks in the corner I guess lol

Anyhoo, I must stop procrastinating and get my work done, else I won't have time to swim. And I MUST swim as I haven't drunk much water the past few days. So I'm hoping a swim/steam/jacuzzi will help shift a vital few ounces before tonight!

Have a good week all.

P. x

Right, food first.....

Breakfast: mixed frozen fruit, prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb)
Snack: alpen light bar (3 syns)
Lunch: huge plate of salad leaves, low fat supernoodle omlette. Alpen light bar (3 syns)
Dinner: chicken, spinach and potato curry (0.5 syns for cooked mango). Fruit and yoghurt after weigh in.
Total syns: 8.5 syns
Total water: 3 syns
Exercise: 60 min swim (2.4km)

Weigh in - lost 1/2lb, which means I've now broken the 15 stone barrier. I'm pleased with this as I was worried I'd out on after my 4lbs loss last week. Also I didn't drink as much water this week. Average about 3 pints a day.

So for this week, I don to get all 3 swimming sessions in. I also intend to drink 6 pts of water a day. Am additionally joining the March challenge, chunks like that suit me. Will be aiming for 7lbs this month. :)

Yeh well done, glad you still had a loss after the massive one last week!!

We have a taster session this week too and I just saw a easy looking recipe for scan ginger cake on the SW website that I think I'm gonna do... Since I should already have most of the ingredients n not have to buy anything...

Food for today - feel really knackered right now - so will keep it short and sweet.

Breakfast: frozen fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb), low fat yoghurt
Lunch: couscous with roasted vegetables and quorn sausages slices
Snack: caramel bunny (5 syns), apple and banana
Dinner: HUGE supernoodle omlette (3 eggs no less), on a massive bed of lettuce leaves. 2, yes TWO alpen light bars (6 syns).
Skimmed milk in tea throughout day.
Total syns: 13
Total water: 1 pint - rubbish, will take a pint to bed with me - I have a headache, possibly related.
Exercise: walk to work - 1 hour

Feel shattered - first day back in office, it's all gone to pot in my absence - my new and old boss are scrapping it out for my time, me in the middle and two projects that I really need to be dealing with full time - and I only do a 4 day week. Erk! Am spending tomorrow project planning my time though, down to 1/2 days - so by the end of that they will know what is what. I also woke in the night (second night running, back to work, no coincidence?) - probably again why I'm tired.

Good to see little sausage back on the scene though. :)

Am taking my weary self to bed - I shall catch up on other diaries tomorrow - am pooped!

Oh before I go - am very excited as I've bought tickets for the premiere of I, Superbiker at Leicester Square next week. The place will be heaving with bike riders/racers, and I am unbearable already! I am gonna take my lid along for autographs I think. I really am that sad!

Off for happy bike related dreams.... night all :) x

Sweet biking dreams! X

lol Thanks Little Sausage - I am very excited. And there is a biker on TV tonight (19:30 BBC1 - The Boat that Guy Built) - who is gorgeous!! So I shall be settling down to watch that in a few minutes.

Anyhoo, busy with work today, and Steven then had a little friend over for tea. I ponced about cooking and washing up - oh yay, kids are such fun! lol I did go for a swim though (although it was a bit of a struggle today, and I only managed 2.2k - but a still an hour of reasonable exercise). Managed to eat all my syns by about 5.00 - so am craving sweetie sweetness now, and can only have fruit. I may go for another portion of fruit and yoghurt in a bit, in fact sod it, I will. That is actaully what I fancy as it goes - not chocolate or anything.

So... Breakfast:
mixed frozen fruit, branflakes (HEb), canned prunes (2 syns), low fat natural yoghurt
Snack: Special k minibreaks (5 syns)
Lunch: mixed frozen fruit and low fat yoghurt, followed by a bowl of savoury rice. (I had planned to chop some beans into it for last 5 mins to boost the superfree - but got distracted by work and burnt the bottom, so just scraped out what was OK and had that instead. The fruit with the yoghurt will have to count as the superfree). Alpen light bar (3 syns)
Snack before tea: special k minibreaks (5 syns)
Tea: spaghetti bolognaise (lots of onion and canned tomatoes) with wholemeal pasta shells
Snack I'm about to have: more fruit and yoghurt
Skimmed milk in cups of tea (HEa)

Total syns: 15
Water: 6 pints (or it will be by bedtime)
Exercise: 1 hour swim (moderate)

Back in the office tomorrow - I really slip with my water on those days so am gonna have to try and find a tactic that works there. I've stopped drinking tea on the train - so maybe I can fill up on regular water instead and that will help. Though I beleive that technically, they say drinking tea or coffee is fine too - as the amount of diuretic in it, isn't enough to counteract the amount of fluid you consume. Either way - I don't feel healthy drinking the tea, whereas I do with the water.

I'll stop rambling now - Guy's about to come on TV, hurr hurr indeed!

I always take a bottle of water on the train in to town in the morning. That way I've already had half a litre before I get to work!

I've been doing that too, drinkin a bottle of water in the car on my way to work, just means my toilet trips start even earlier when I get to work lol xx
